Emjajoas Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Em nods, thought Jetorix worries him. He doubted sleep would come easy. Edited October 24, 2013 by emjajoas Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 "If that is the end of the briefing, allow me to take you to your lodgings." Fydelle leads the party out of the office and down a few corridors... and Em soon catches sight of five familiar faces. Blurs of color zoom around int e room, playing. "Ugh. Solon's kids are defying curfew." Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Em grins, waving to the little proggs. "How're you kids doing?" he asks, unsure of whether or not they'll remember him, but curious nonetheless. Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 "Em, I presume you have met this little youngsters before?" Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 "Yes, I had a run-in with them during a previous quest. Precious little things; they were doing work on the surface and traded with us." Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 "The surface seems like a dangerous place for children with so much hatred for their kind." Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 "I hope just to get a bit of rest" Elgar knew that was a lie, he wanted to ponder on the day so far, alone and undisturbed. Elgar then turned to the young proggs and introduced himself, just out of instinct. Quote
Endgame Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Fydelle turns to Jeaux. "That is correct - Solon is better at contorlling the entire Progg population than his own children. I'm still not quite sure how they got to the topside... But, likely, they have the cutness factor on their side. The three pupae rush to the ranger's side, scampering towards him like dogs waiting to be pet. "Mr. Em!!" "Hello to everyone else, too!." "So daddy chose you as a hero!" "So what happened to Mr. Purple Guy? Did you defeat him?" "And stuff?" Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Em grins, kneeling down in front of the small proggs. "I told you I'd come and visit, didn't I?" As far as Mr Purple Guy goes, though, we didn't quite defeat him-- in fact, he decided to... turn good, I suppose. He and his friends do good work now. Have you kids been getting into more trouble?" Pyrovisionary Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Ooc: I will be away for the day so I will not be able to post for the night. Sarge Leans against a wall and relights the cigar he was smoking earlier. He makes a small nod to the young Proggs before puffing out a smoke ring. Quote
Endgame Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Have you kids been getting into more trouble?" "No." "Yes." "Like what, Fydelle?" "How about that tim you kids picked the lock to The Deeps and forced the blacksmith to make a second one? Or that time you begged to get into Royal Pond despite Aquos Jr. and his mother not inviting you? I'd call that trouble." What does Fydell mean by the Royal Pond...? Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Aquos jr, the name reminded Elgar of his last quest with the proggs. Elgar decided to let it slip there were more important things to think about. "So what is the royal pond? Or are we going to have to work that one out for ourselves?" Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Sarge wonders how the Proggs picked a lock despite not having opposable thumbs, suddenly; an alien thought popped into his head: "What did Fydelle mean by the royal pond?" He must be going mad, or having one of those wossanames. Like sorrow and syntax. Personalities. That was the one. Edited October 25, 2013 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Endgame Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) "So what is the royal pond? Or are we going to have to work that one out for ourselves?" "An area that is strictly prohibitted to outsiders. Regent Solon is just that: A regent, a stand in ruler. The only Progg left of royal blood, child of Aquos, the blind prince... is currently 6 months old. When he comes of age, he will lead the Proggs; until then, Solon is the sole ruler of the colony. Aquos Jr. spends his days residing in the Royal Pond. Of course, he must be protected - so very limitted access is granted to the pond. Which is why you five are not allowed in there!" "Aww, you're no fun, Mr. Fydelle..." "And stuff..." Edited October 26, 2013 by Endgame Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 "If these children were able to sneak in then there are obviously problems with your security. If Jetorix was able to get there, the results could be somewhat destructive." Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 "We'll have to deal with Jetorix swiftly, then," Em mutters. Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 "Indeed, we should definitely advance quickly, if these little proggs could just stumble in there by accident, we will definitely have some problems should one of Jetorix's men gets there. Let's move out!" Quote
Endgame Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 "They didn't break into the Royal Pond... Simply harassed the guards there for about three hours before I got them to go away. Now, kids, get back to your rooms. You're breaking curfew, not to mention your father's wishes." The five multi-colored larvae begin to shuffle away dejectedly. "Okay..." "Fine, fine..." "Killjoy..." "See you later, lady and gentlemen..." "And stuff..." With the five children dismissed, Fydelle leads them into a the barracks. Progg beds were obviously quite different from humans' they large carpets, carefully woven with fine fabric. Large pillows, about the size of half a human, sits at the bottom and top of the carpet. These set-ups line the barracks, more then two dozen of the Progg beds in the barracks. Besides the five heroes and Fydelle, the room was vacant: this was the auxiliary barracks, apparently. Fydelle shambles over to a bed in the corner, placing his head on one pillow and lazily lowering his tail onto the other. "I'll be taking a quick rest as well, I suppose. You five have a lot of work cut out for you tomorrow: So, get those bags out from under your eyes and rest up for a few hours. I get the bad feeling this isn't going to be an easy mission..." The party all take a mat, trying to make best use out of the over sized Progg beds as they can. Eventually, after minutes of tossing, turning, and trying to work the Progg-sized furniture to their benefit, the party drifts into a slumber... QM Note: You will all be receiving PMs within the next few hours. Until then, feel free to roleplay falling asleep, talking to your other heroes, etc. Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Erdathcath prepares herself for sleep, restless, but hoping to catch some hours of sleep, it had already been quite a long day, and their mission had yet to begin. "The beds do indeed seem quite different from the ones at the Hall, or even back home, however, we should rest as well as we can, tomorrow, we begin." Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) "G'night" Sarge murmurs. He eventually gets to sleep with one eye half open and his hands firmly around the hilts of the demonic scissors. Edited October 26, 2013 by Pyrovisionary Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 "Rise and shine then, we've got work to do. Now I 'ad a nightmare last night and I'm sure you lot did too. Now is the time to share these bleeding visions incase they 'elp us get stuff done. Personally, I witnessed all of humanity enslaved by a Progg named the eternal reaper. Now I've seen a play where some orc sees his family killed by humans and then grows up to lead the orcish war against humanity, and I think that this might happen here." Quote
Emjajoas Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 "I... saw the same, I think. We should tread carefully lest one of us makes a mistake..." Em crosses his arms and sighs. "Perhaps it would be best to ask someone about these nightmares-- Though I know not whom." Quote
