Aanchir Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Aaarrggghhh, you just reminded me that the pirates shouldn't exist! This is too confusing! Agreed. I REALLY wish they had held off the big hiatus for another episode so that we could get a better feel for the aftermath of that time travel arc. If Lord Garmadon still has the Golden Weapons, then that would probably make it simplest to understand how things in the new timeline played out, but if not, then all bets are off. I'm hoping for the former because I highly doubt we'll get a lot of flashbacks explaining what has transpired in this new timeline that differs from the original. Quote
DraikNova Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 While I meant the pirates before they were reanimated using the megaweapon, you've got a point. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 While I meant the pirates before they were reanimated using the megaweapon, you've got a point. Oh right! In that case, you're almost certainly correct in that the Island of Darkness was their destination before they went off course and crashed. I had almost forgotten about that. Nice to see that the pirate episode really does tie into the remainder of the season even if the pirates themselves are out of the picture. Quote
Kai NRG Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Oh right! Nice to see that the pirate episode really does tie into the remainder of the season even if the pirates themselves are out of the picture. I actually hadn't thought about the pirates being out of the picture. It kind of seemed to me like (not to bring up such a mind blowing topic again, but) the mega-weapon was sent out to space basically at the same point in time Lord Garmadon tried to create the vortex (not in the past). So everything that happened until then would still have happened, but at that point in time the mega weapon would simply vanish. But it's clearly not gone completely; Sensei Wu was sitting on top of the bounty and looking at it (with opens up a lot of interesting possibilities IMO. . .). Anyway, based on the 2013 sets I'm guessing that Garmatron is really not anything like Garmadon - (except for being even more evil), but that instead he is the what-shall-we-call-him? - evil force? - behind the Great Devourer - and therefore behind Lord Garmadon. Basically Garmatron is the Dark Lord that Lloyd Garmadon is destined to defeat, or if Lord Garmadon is actually the Dark Lord like we've been told, then Lloyd will defeat Garmadon's evil side by defeating Garmatron. At any rate it seems clear to me that Garmatron is the overlord - my guess is as the ninja continue foiling all of Garmadon's plans he (Garmatron) realizes his best henchman is in big trouble, and so he sets out to save Garmadon and defeat the ninja. But of course the ninja defeat him at the temple of light (which odd as it may sound probably is on the Island of Darkness - but probably not in the episode named the Island of Darkness, that would be a bit too early on - unless it will take the ninja a good bit more time to convince Lord Garmadon to become good) and Lord Garmadon turns good (eventually, at least), and the ninja live "happily ever after." Of course I'm just guessing, and I'm probably wrong to some degree, but who knows? And I'm also almost 100% positive that Lloyd NRG is the gold ninja (although for a fleeting moment I considered Garmadon being the gold ninja, but it seems unlikely), because, for one thing, his ZX spinner is gold, not green. Plus it would be natural for him to turn gold as he blends the four spinjitzu elements within himself more and more. Quote
PenPlays Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 That's some good insight Kai, but it was kind of confirmed that Garmatron is a robotic being designed in the same likenes as lord Garmadon. Possibly in the new timeline, Lord Garmadon was mechanized, or maybe he built a giant robot as a "last stand". Also I would believe that everything that happened before Kai and Nya met Sensei Wu is still the same. In all time travel related subjects, the past before the alteration in time is unaffected unless the time traveller were to travel even further back in time after affecting the former. This would mean Garmatron couldn't have created the Great Devourer because it existed before the alteration. Garmatron wouldn't have. Of course this can only be confirmed when the show continues. WE'RE WAITING!!! Quote

WE'RE WAITING!!! Well, IMO it would make sense for an evil being named Garmatron to look like Garmadon, especially if he came first. But I didn't mean that Garmatron was a person, I meant something like the power miners Cyristal King. Still, I agree that it's plently likely that Garmatron ends up being either Lord Garmadon magnified or a robot. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) I actually hadn't thought about the pirates being out of the picture. But it's clearly not gone completely; Sensei Wu was sitting on top of the bounty and looking at it (with opens up a lot of interesting possibilities IMO. . .). This would be the explanation that leaves the fewest plot holes. However, it seems unlikely because... in the end of the episode, when the Mega-Weapon is mentioned, Lloyd doesn't even know what the Ninja are talking about. This would imply that the Mega-Weapon never existed in this timeline. I suppose it's still possible that instead of being "destroyed" in the present day, the Mega-Weapon blinked out of existence entirely and all memories of it by non-time-traveling entities were forgotten. It's somewhat screwy (as a lot of time-travel logic is in kids' media) but it would perhaps make the most sense in the long run. Of course we won't know for sure what the situation is until we see the next episode and get a better understanding of Garmadon's status in the aftermath of the time-travel adventure. Anyway, based on the 2013 sets I'm guessing that Garmatron is really not anything like Garmadon - (except for being even more evil), but that instead he is the what-shall-we-call-him? - evil force? - behind the Great Devourer - and therefore behind Lord Garmadon. I'm fairly certain Garmatron will be either a new form of Lord Garmadon or a robot he creates. The name doesn't seem to imply any kind of ancestral evil to me. I imagine that without the Mega-Weapon, Lord Garmadon's next plan to defeat the ninja will involve creating/becoming Garmatron. Lloyd becoming the gold ninja seems likely to me as well, though the ZX spinner is a minor clue since spinners almost never match the color of the Ninja riding them (for instance, Kai's spinner last year was Bright Orange and Kai ZX and Kendo Kai both have Flame Yellowish Orange spinners). Among the Ninja, Kendo Zane's spinner is the only example where the color of the spinner exactly matches the color of the Ninja. I do think that if the Gold Ninja is in fact Lloyd's "True Potential" form, then like Lloyd ZX's spinner it will have elemental patterns of all four elements, which would probably work a lot better on a gold costume than a green one. I do agree, that's certainly a possibility (and maybe more likely than my scenario), but I still think that LEGO should make Garmadon good somehow and that seemed an easy way to do it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. However, it seems to me that if Gamratron were just some idea put into action by Lord Garmadon, and then (naturally) defeated by the ninja, he shouldn't get a set all to himself; it seems the other creations won't. On the other hand, if he were really the master-evil mind behind everything - well then of course he would be important. Quote
DraikNova Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I think that Garmatron is what Garmadon transforms into using some power from the Stone Army or whatever is on the Island of Darkness; It would make sense to stage two episodes in the same area if my theory about the Kimono Suits is correct. Quote
Lightning Dragon Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) Could the golden dragon be Lloyd's true potential? Or the guardian of the kimono suits? Probably not, the storyline is kind of getting a little...um....don't know what to say... Edited September 17, 2012 by Lightning Dragon Quote
PenPlays Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Lego has a no-one-ever-dies hold of their series (plural). Garmadon-atron-and-on-and-on-and-on most likely will be revived from evil. Besides the legend tells that "The destined Green Ninja will defeat the Dark Lord. Defeat does not exactly imply death. Of course, Lego can surprise us. Quote

PenPlays Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 One killed himself, the other was already dead. Pythor was eaten at the same time as Senseu Wu. They would both have to be digested at the same time... And yes, Samukai is already beyond dead, and to be more precise, he didn't die again. He just poofed. Just found out that Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out is another single episode, like Padawan Menace. There is hope that LoC will be the new show!! Quote

I agree, I serously doubt LEGO will kill or even make Lord Garmadon vanish into space - especailly after hinting in the last season that he really might have a good side (just one that's almost invisible). Plus, Sensei Wu said that the best way to defeat an enemy is by making them your friend. . . Quote
Lightning Dragon Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Maybe Lloyd just kills Lord Garmadon's evilness??? Quote

Tobias_Jay Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) I am starting to think that they have split the series in to two parts. Wrong place, Wrong time was the finale of part 1 and The Stone Army is the start of part 2. They will probably start part 2 late December/ early January. I hope it isn't so, but it seems likely. horizon Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Still crap that Nickelodeon over here does not air Ninjago. Though online the first four episodes of season 2 where translated. Ah well, we still have power rangers samuarai, kids are big fans, but I see a bummer coming up regarding Deker & Dayu. ahem... Garmatron will be a cool tank robot build by Garmadon. :) I hope. ;) Quote

(Also off topic this is my 100th post ) Congrats on making it to Citizen! It does seem like LEGO has pretty much split the episodes in two, but if there is going to be a LoC series replacing Ninjago, it would make sense for LEGO to air Ninjago this year - probably by December IMO. So while we still might have to wait until November, I think all the episodes will have aired before January. Quote
