Ninja of Fire Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 So no spoilers, but it seems like the newer summer sets are giving us a preview of the next season. Seeing the sets of any next wave will show you what that series is about. These sets are to be released to coincide with the release of next season (Season 7? 8?) so yeah... Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) ... In December of 2011, when we saw the Rise of the Snakes sets, what happened? In December of 2012, when we saw the Final Battle sets, what happened? In December of 2013, when we saw the Rebooted sets, what happened? In December of 2014, when we saw the Tournament of Elements sets, what happened? In January of 2015, when we saw the Possession sets, what happened? In December of 2015, when we saw the Skybound sets, what happened? ...hmmm Lol However, despite that, this wave still remains very obscure. I think the only set that will honestly give away major plot details will be X-Cave Chaos, and Airjitzu Battle Grounds. After all, these sets are actual location. There may be compartments and stickers that give away the plot (like Tiger Widow Island). These sets are to be released to coincide with the release of next season (Season 7? 8?) so yeah... Eh, I still say its season 8. Tbh to avoid confusion I just use the name of the season rather than it's number (Like Rebooted, Possession, Year of The Snakes, etc.). Starrocks923 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 So no spoilers, but it seems like the newer summer sets are giving us a preview of the next season. Wow, really? Man, LEGO should keep making LEGO sets for the sole purpose of spoiling a TV show! Eh, I still say its season 8. Tbh to avoid confusion I just use the name of the season rather than it's number (Like Rebooted, Possession, Year of The Snakes, etc.). That's nice that you have a system to remember each season, but...that also directly adds to the confusion when someone isn't using the same terminology. LEGO has officially released season 1 on DVD and it's the first half of the 2012 episodes, so calling season seven "season eight" will easily confuse anyone not used to reading your posts. Quote

It's not for me. That "system" (calling the season by it's worded name) is for others. If some people say it's season 7 or 8, people will get confused. But if you say rise of the villains or whatever this wave/season is called, that would avoid confusion. I was just stating that I will call the next season season 8. Besides, i'm using this order because LEGO did. It's not my fault Rebooted messed everything up. Edited April 14, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote

How did Rebooted mess everything — err, anything — up? If anything, it seems to be one of the most consistently named seasons around. In some countries (such as Australia), Season One was "Way of the Ninja" and "King of Shadows" and Season Two was "Rise of the Snakes" through "Rise of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master". In other countries (including the United States, France, Great Britain and Germany), Season One was "Rise of the Snakes" through "Day of the Great Devourer" and Season Two was "Darkness Shall Rise" through "Rise of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master". But I'm not aware of any countries where Rebooted ("The Surge" through "The Titanium Ninja") has been identified as anything other than Season Three. The Australian DVDs do continue to complicate things by identifying both Tournament of Elements and Possession as Season Four (darnit, so much for keeping things consistent), but for Rebooted, at least, they were finally in sync with most other countries whose DVD numbering I'm aware of. Numbering aside, though, I'm just now realizing that the Australian DVDs for Rebooted, Tournament of Elements, and Possession have some pretty amazing cover art! gamejutzu Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Wow, that is some nice cover art. I never knew where they came from... However, even so, I do explicitly remember when LEGO or Cartoon Network referred to the first years of Ninjago, skipping one season number. I saw it in video titles. I just assumed that it meant the first episodes and the minimovies combined into season one. A lot of people agree with this. I have yet to find these (probably deleted) videos, but I will, eventually. Also, I've been seeing some fanart and memes for Ninjago on Tumblr recently, and honestly, I've never laughed harder at the similarities they (literally) drew. If only the rest of the fanbase was like this... Edited April 16, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
Vector Prime Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It's true that a lot of promotional material for Rise of the Serpentine labeled it as season 2. However in the intervening time, everyone on the production side has made it quite clear which season is which. Jay Vincent has labeled all of his music cues on YouTube with Rise of the Serpentine being season 1, Final Battle season 2 etc, while Wil Film also lists the seasons in that order on their website, and the Hageman Brothers constantly refer to Skybound as Season 6 in their tweets. If only the rest of the fanbase was like this... The Ninjago fan community on Tumblr frequently manages to impress me! Both in terms of their creative abilities and their sense of humor. Sometimes there's a bit of drama, as with any fandom, but for the most part I feel like it's a great community and I wish I could be a bigger part of it. Quote

DuckBricks Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 At least one of the new sets is from this season. It's an odd split wave - the lighthouse, Kryptarium Prison, Lloyd's Dragon, and maybe the Airjitsu Battle Grounds (The name's too ambiguous to decide either way) are all part of the Skybound wave, while the rest are Rise of the Villains. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Hey, so, sorry if I didn't read something, but are we getting another season this summer to go with Rise of the Villains? Quote
TheBrickPal Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I mean, we haven't heard anything officially, but I can't see why we wouldn't get another season this year. That's a whole new wave they're going to need to promote. Plus, we got two seasons last year for Tournament of Elements and Possession, so why not this year? Quote
Vector Prime Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It's been pretty much confirmed that we'll get a Return of the Villains season as the Hageman brothers have mentioned a season 7 in several of their tweets and Ian James Corlett, one of the voice actors, posted a video a while back of him recording more Chen dialogue. Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 We'e got the rest of the year, so why not? And with the Ninjago movie in a few years, this year would be kinda boring without any new Ninjago content. And if we do get a new season, here's hoping it's more than ten episodes this time. Even an extra episode will help the season feel more grounded and natural... Besides, they have the budget to make 13 or so episodes... Right? Quote
Takanuinuva Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 A new short. This time it features Monkey Wretch. Out of all of them. This one seems to fit the best in the actual canon. Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) A new short. This time it features Monkey Wretch. Out of all of them. This one seems to fit the best in the actual canon. Exactly what I thought. Looks like you ninja'd me as well with that video link. This story seems less of a tall tale and more like what actually happened. Only thing that makes it a tall tale is the actual island. To be honest, I think Dogshank's story would actually fit into the canon better than her just wanting to be pretty. Her trying to be the best, can create some internal feelings like hatred, anger, etc. while just being beautiful is more of an arrogant mistake. Also, Clancee described Wretch's backstory differently than this mini-movie. This may mean that the tall tale of Dogshank might be canon too, and Clancee just has shoddy memory or something. - Also, I found the Year of The Snakes episode recaps to be labelled "season 2" on the LEGO Channel. It hasn't been deleted or anything either... Edited April 23, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote

Vector Prime Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 And now Bucko and Squiffy have a Tall Tale which goes completely against the tv series canon by having them be pirates prior to Nadakhan's banishment rather than them being businessmen wanting to become pirates during the events of Skybound. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Does that mean Cyren will get one? And I guess all the Tall Tales are non canon then. Quote

Alternately, Squiffy and Bucko could have been named after two of Nadakhan's original pirates instead of him just making the names up. But yeah, more likely that all the tall tales are made up. Considering Nadakhan's the kind of captain who insists on his crew having piratical names, it's not too much of a stretch to assume he prefers more impressive backstories as well. Quote

I wouldn't say that... I say if you twist up the story even more, you can get what really happened. I'd say that over here, Squiffy and Bucko got jobs as window wipers, cooks, and ship cleaners. But they were terrible at their jobs, so they always got fired. And then they came to Nadakhan to work for Piracy. Also someone said you can find Nuckal and Kruncha in this one, can anyone see them? MattZitron Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) Are we allowed to discuss newer sets contents? Obviously in regards to characters in the show. I don't want spoilery stuff to upset folk! Edited April 26, 2016 by MattZitron Quote
Exetrius Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Are we allowed to discuss newer sets contents? Obviously in regards to characters in the show. I don't want spoilery stuff to upset folk! - Anything that is obvious from looking at the sets; - anything that is understood as common knowledge (up to the beginning/middle of the latest season); - and any theory based upon these things can be discussed here without using spoiler tags. That's is more or less the rule. So yeah, go ahead! Quote

Maybe not just the anacondrai, but the other tribes. Edited April 27, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
