PicnicBasketSam Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Cole is half-human, eh? That would explain his transparent arms in the Rock Roader and the green smudge on his forehead. So, wait, is Day of the Departed Season 7, or is there a full Season 7 after these two specials? Quote
DuckBricks Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Yes, but there's no reason a holiday special can't exist at the beginning, middle, or end of a regular TV season. After all, the Legends of Chima series finale was basically a Christmas special, as bizarre as that sounds. Oh! Makes sense... I see where you're coming from now. Quote
MasterofElements Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Just to add a bit more details. I was at the panel and the footage shown was quite interesting. The Stealth Raider looks incredible in animated form and the flow of the clip seemed to go well. The people at the panel stated that the footage they showed was the first two minutes from the first episode of Day of the Departed. This worries me, as if the season starts with the Raider already introduced there's no explanation as to how they obtain it. I hope there's no throwaway line from Nya saying that she whipped it up. It's not too surprising to me since it's a vehicle they already have, even though it hasn't been seen since Season 2 or mentioned since Season 3. And I figure a throwaway line like that is really all that would be needed to explain that it's been modified since the last time we last saw it. It wouldn't be the first time Nya's upgraded it in her spare time. Remember, in its first appearance in "Day of the Great Devourer", Nya hadn't yet installed the ability for it to split into two vehicles; that ability wouldn't be seen until "The Ninjaball Run". Yeah but after the Ninjaball run it wasn't seen again, because only the jet was left. I'm pretty sure it will be a flashback, and halfway through the season or special, they will go back to the first scene. Especially since i'm assuming Cole is also half-ghost in the scene. And if he is, that would also mean that we get Cole as a half ghost with no explanation. Quote

gamejutzu Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) The last time we see it is actually episode 21, the day Ninjago stood still. Oh right, that's an episode I only saw once But yeah, it's basically decommissioned, like the Ultra Dragon and the elemental blades (actually the elemental blades are probably in the same place the titanium and golden armor is, but you get the point). I mean, it hasn't been seen for years, and it probably hasn't been getting a monthly polish. I really think that Nya will probably just pull it out of her sleeve, like she did with the bikes around Lou's place. I really hope the next season will have these little sub-plots, but held together by the main conflict between Yang and Cole, which would be clearly shown to be the central point. I'd really like that. Besides, I feel like something like that would go in a direction that we haven't seen before in Ninjago. It can be the modern day and involve their parents. "Involve" does not mean this entire season is about Kai and Nya's parents, and them only. Involve means that the story will pertain some sort of information, if not an important role, for these characters, not be about them only. It's apparent that "involve" is the word being misconstrued from the SDCC information. Yeah I get that, but we may get an episode or two where we flashback to the time period of their parents. It can even be five minutes and not an episode. I'm just trying to say that Morro and Samukai lived at the same time Kai and Nya's parents did. And i'm not misinterpreting the use of "involve". I was thinking the season would switch from parents to children from time to time, keeping the flow that way. "Involve" doesn't have to be in the loose sense. Edited August 6, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
Aanchir Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) The Ninjago panel from SDCC is live! Edited August 8, 2016 by Aanchir Quote
Master_Data Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 ^ Thanks! The writers completely forgot about Zane's father and Skylor being the orange ninja. Any way to see those clips? Quote
gamejutzu Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) A leaked Hands of Time plot/script says the ninja get sucked into some kind of purple explosion. Lloyd and Cole are talking while this happens. This makes me think that Nelson may be responsible, and that the ninja will actually be visiting the past. Edited August 9, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
DuckBricks Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Panel Recap Tidbits: The Tinkerer might be alive The writers still don't know how Zane has powers, but it will be explored in a future episode (that was their answer for anything they didn't know, which I found quite amusing) Hands of Time is Kai-focused A character with the element of Time will be in Hands of Time Other media, like comics, will explain what happenned to the Ultra Dragon and the Ultra Sonic Raider Again, they're listening to the fans re. Garmadon They also don't know how Soto got Nadakhan in the Teapot of Tyran in the first place Again, not everything is gone after Skybound Ninjago "stories" will continue after the movie next year. I assume they mean the TV show, but you never know Morro's name came from his desire to "want more" Nya's name was originally Aya, as she was going to be the master of air, but changed to Nya. It also should have been pronounced "nai-ah" but was prounounced incorrectly during the pilot episodes by the voice cast by mistake. Kai's prototype minifigure had red hair and freckles ;) and is Greek for fire (they weren't 100% sure about the Greek part) Cole's name came from coal, which is found in the earth The process of how Yang turns someone into a ghost will be explained in Day of the Departed Easter eggs planted in Possession and even before that will finally come to fruition during Day of the Departed and Hands of Time The Dark Island Trilogy is semi-canon, meaning it happened sometime between different seasons but won't be referenced in the show. That's all I can recall for now... Quote

Garmadon Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 ...Kai's prototype minifigure had red hair and freckles ;) and is Greek for fire (they weren't 100% sure about the Greek part)... Unless it has changed a lot more than I think it has (in the last two thousand years ), I'm fairly positive it still only means "and," "also," or "even." Pur or Puros would be fire (where we get Pyro-maniac from). Thanks for the recap though, as I (and others, I'm sure) don't have the time to watch the whole thing myself! Quote

Yeah, one of the panelists said Greek, then looked to the others to confirm, and he only got shrugs back... One other thing I forgot to mention is that the sets team "likes the idea" of a CMF series centering around characters in the show but not sets... Quote
gamejutzu Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) The Tinkerer might be alive So they're doing the whole, "no one stays dead thing"? Heck, with Samukai coming back in DoTD, even Garmadon could come back to life. The writers still don't know how Zane has powers, but it will be explored in a future episode (that was their answer for anything they didn't know, which I found quite amusing) Well, i'd say it has something to do with the previous master of ice, which could be explored in Hands of Time. A character with the element of Time will be in Hands of Time I'm betting it's Nelson. Who else could it be? The non-canon Time Ninja? Other media, like comics, will explain what happened to the Ultra Dragon and the Ultra Sonic Raider The comics are going to be canon this time? Huh. While they're at it, i'd like the legs and torsos to have actual movement as well. Morro's name came from his desire to "want more" That's interesting. I thought it was a punny version of "morrow", and it had some kind of meaning to Morro's character which you had to sit and think about. Easter eggs planted in Possession and even before that will finally come to fruition during Day of the Departed and Hands of Time What easter eggs? Legends of Chima? The Hageman Brothers? I really don't know what else there could be. Edited August 9, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote

In the new "Wu-Cru" mobile game the ninja get possessed by some sort of magical stones which have a purple colour. I wonder if this could have something to do with this. Quote
Master_Data Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I guess they never treated Skylor as the orange ninja, just the Orange / crimson hooded female assassin. Really quite unfortunate. We even got a new variant in Skybound. All of the Elemental Masters introduced during the Tournament arc were really interesting characters, but they all got thrown out the window to train Nya as the Water Ninja... Quote

I think them not considering Skylor to be the "Orange Ninja" may not be because they don't consider her a ninja, but rather because they consider her to be the YELLOW ninja. After all, Flame Yellowish Orange is about the closest a minifigure outfit can get to yellow without it just looking like they're in the nude. Quote

Will he also be the villain in Hands of Time? I personally doubt it. And besides Yang, Nelson is the only person I can think of who could get the element, besides a brand new character. And also, people with elemental powers have them passed on by their family. Nelson could have someone in his family who was a time elemental. Edited August 11, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote

Another thought, speed and gravity effect time according to physics. I imagine an awsome Gravis-Griffin combo! Quote

Another thought, speed and gravity effect time according to physics. I imagine an awsome Gravis-Griffin combo! It's not so much that gravity effects time as much as that gravity determines what time is. I mean, gravity is often described as one of four fundamental forces, but while the other three determine how particles interact, gravity determines space and time. Gravity itself is already a ridiculously powerful thing to have control over. Quote

A combo of Gravis and Griffin at full potential should be ultra overpowered and might be able to counter the Time element. (I know, this is far too theoretical for what the show is and who it's targeted to) Quote

And besides, the wielder of the time element may not necessarily be evil, especially if it turns out to be Nelson. Maybe they just want to save the past or something, or stop that battle in the monastery from happening. Also someone asked if Day of The Departed and Hands of Time are going to be full seasons or special events and the Hageman Brothers answered with yes Edited August 11, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
