Aanchir Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Maybe, but that doesn't explain why she has been almost completely eliminated from the plot... She hasn't though? She played a big role in the final episodes of Season Six. Her absence in the intervening time was pretty effectively explained as her taking over management of her father's noodle shops. As for why she had to be written into the sidelines like that, that's easy to explain. She's one of many, MANY supporting characters in LEGO Ninjago, and the show can't possibly keep all of them in the spotlight at all times. As new stories spring up, they have to focus on whichever supporting characters make the most sense for each episode or story arc. The writers explained during last year's SDCC panel that they have had difficulty dealing with the ever-increasing cast of characters, which is part of why they chose to integrate Pixal into Zane's AI: it allowed her and her relationship with Zane to remain an active presence in the storyline without having to keep coming up with explanations for where she is and what she's doing. But other supporting characters like Skylor, Cyrus Borg, and Jay's parents often have to be removed from the spotlight, sometimes for many episodes at a time, while they wait for the story to call on them again. I think the issue with characters is that since one season usually has 10 episodes or less, there's only enough space to cover the main plot and *maybe* some character development for one or two characters. If the developers had the freedom to make a normal amount of episodes, like say 15-20, then I could see missed characters returning and less plot holes. And the show would feel whole and not rushed (it sometimes feels like it is). Quote
Master_Data Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) I have some information about the upcoming season: Someone on Youtube posted some pictures they claim are from Hands of Time. The ninja have new suits (which leads me to believe that Hands of Time will air closer to 2017 to promote the 2017 release). They have the 2012 shoulder pads in black and black arms. Zane's back to being Titanium with white highlights crisscrossing his suit and Cole's now a mixture of black, grey, and brown. Some samurai-looking warriors are teased in a painting in the background. Not much, but if someone wants to take the time dissect this, we might have a clue at the enemy of Hands of Time! EDIT: It was just pointed out to me that this may have been posted in the 2016 thread, and was posted earlier in this thread, but all but one were removed from Youtube, and now that it's back on, we can take a closer look at it. gamejutzu Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I have some information about the upcoming season I think someone posted pictures a while back. They're probably tens of pages over, but they're there. Unless Eurobricks removed them. It kind of sucks that we haven't gotten a trailer or seen the sneak peek yet... And we already know spoilers for Hands of Time... When will we see the sneak peek?? Quote

I posted links to images, here's my original post (page 140 of Ninjago 2016 Discussion): The suits are hard to describe, as each is unique and all are really detailed. All suits are moulded in the original colours, with the exception of Nya and Zane. They have dark bley and light bley torsos/legs, respectively. The shoulder pads, arms, hands and hip pieces are all black. I think that all have the same features on the legs, those being a black belt (like Evil Green Ninja), strips of cloth tied around their lower legs in a cross pattern (similar to kimono robes) in a brighter tone of their signature colour and lastly, black sandals (like Ronin's). Nya's suit is highly assymetrical, two azure 'stripes' go from top/bottom left to bottom right, where her logo is. Jay seems to have a symmetrical, round-ish pattern, golden emblem in the centre. Cole features a great deal of brown and dark bley lower legs. Lloyd has a symmetrical(?) V-shaped pattern, emblem above the belt, in the middle. Well, that's the best I can do in words! http://puu.sh/pvI7Z/396f1bc77b.jpg http://puu.sh/pvI6b/4b4573116a.jpg And yeah, it's taking so long... Quote
Master_Data Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Scratch that, these pictures are even clearer. Never found your original post as it's been buried. Thanks! Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 The episode names have been leaked by Cartoon Network and it actually will be a season! Although it'll all take place in one entire day. The following episode names are: Hour of th Sensei Hour of the Statue Hour of Revenge Hour of Vengeance Hour of the Hunt Hour of Destruction Hour of Deception Hour of Chance Hour of Hope The Closing Hour I'm pretty excited for this season and I'm glad it's not just 2 episodes. Quote
MasterofElements Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Interesting how these names are based on "hours". Maybe that is because the season is called "DAY of the Departed", so each episode is a part of the day? Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Those are all pretty cool names! Is it really all in one day? They can't just do it in 12 days or every week? Quote
Master_Data Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Is it really all in one day? They can't just do it in 12 days or every week? I think he means that the events of the entire season will take place over the course of one day. There's no way they're airing all of them at once and then giving us an entire season for Hands of Time later in the year. That's a lot of episodes for one year. Quote
gamejutzu Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) Is it really all in one day? They can't just do it in 12 days or every week? Well it is called > Day < of The Departed, I honestly thought it would be a special and last from afternoon to midnight. But it could be even in the morning, who knows. It also sucks we're still doing the whole 10 episodes thing, but you never know for Hands of Time. Well, *cracks knuckles eventhoughthatfreaksmeoutinreallifebutIstillwroteithereforsomereason* I guess now's a good time to analyze the episode names. - I guess the first episode is probably going to be in reference to Yang, so we'll probably see him early on this season. - The second episode: Airjitzu Battle Grounds reference?? - Hour of Revenge and Hour of Vengence could be a mini-arc with a villain. But who? Cryptor? Morro? - It seems like some villains will get more screen time than others, or have mixed screen time in episodes. - I guess the closing hour will obviously be when Cole shines the green weapons in the moon and beats Yang or something... DuckBricks Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Yes! A full season! I was really worried it wouldn't be! Looking forward to it. Quote
MasterofElements Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Sadly, the episode names have been confirmed to be FAKE. Not disappointed, but saddened as I liked the "hour" idea. Quote

TheLazyChicken Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Sadly it turns out that the Cartoon Network screenshots were faked, they seemed pretty real to me. Extremely disappointed, I'm still hoping for a full season though. Quote
Vector Prime Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Day of the Departed sneak peak. Pretty much confirms it's a special, not a season given that all the characters get their names and there's no episode number. Also, is it just me or is it incredibly obvious that they're racing to the grand opening at the museum's new exhibit? Edited August 19, 2016 by Vector Prime Quote
Takanuinuva Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 That was actually really cool. Can't wait to see the episode/episodes Quote
DuckBricks Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Shame it's not a full season. Wonder how long it will be... I'm hoping for at least 2 hours or at least 1 hour 40 minutes long (5-6 episodes) as Season 2 told a decent Stone Army Storyline using only six episodes (the earlier six were filler) but it will most likely be shorter... :( Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Guess it's confirmed now that it's going to be a special. Hope that this will be a long special and not just two episodes. Edited August 20, 2016 by TheLazyChicken Quote
PenPlays Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 *snip* The SDCC sneak peek has been released by LEGO! Just scroll up a bit. Don't want to live up to your username. Love the little snippet we got though. The new music sounds great! Quote

gamejutzu Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Is it just me or does this opening's visuals and a few animations look a little... Weak? I mean, you could say that it's just a little sneak peek whipped up, but if the entire special will look like this here, eeh, that would be unfortunate. What I mean is, compare these visuals, like the desert area and Kai's model in the beginning, to say, the Possession season, like the HD airjitzu scene on the Bounty. It just doesn't look as crisp and clean, you know? It could change after the intro, but for now, I don't know... I'm not an expert with this stuff, but it caught my eye almost immediately. Does this also mean we won't be getting an intro/theme to this if it's a special? Edited August 20, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
