Freddy, Misako isn't really the character to have her own spinner. She's a secondary, not-big-on-action character. This also belongs in the set discussion and I believe the reason the Spinners are gone is because LEGO is giving CHIMA one last chance to get its act together.

EDIT: Also, I believe it's not a huge spoiler what's happened to Julien. Most people will put two and two together anyway. But it's really not a big issue as a spoiler, it doesn't happen on-screen and it's not as huge a spoiler as what happens to the Overlord, etc.

actually Misako is one of the few characters shown to be a practitioner of Spinjitsu, and we see her use it a number of times. Which at least puts her on par with Nya in terms of a spinner. Now I doubt it would happen as I can't see many young 7 or 8 year old males clamoring for a "little old Lady" or "Lloyd's Mom" spinner set.

As for Dr. Julien

Pure speculation on my part. But given that we have literally already seen his death scene once before. And given that so much of him seems to be an homage to Star Trek, Gene Rodenberry and in particular Data, then there is a good chance that Julien might not be entirely what he seems. There is something about him that keeps reminding me of an old failed Rodenberry pilot movie called "The Questor Tapes", (which pretty much evolved into the creation of Data as a ST character. )

I'm very amused at the idea that with dozens of nindroids roaming about, dressing up in traditional ninja garb may actually make you more stealthy in New Ninjago City.

Somehow I rather think they are pulling a Henry Jones from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with Dr. Julien. It only makes sense if he dies, if you consider that he already died of a natural death once and somehow managed to survive many years beyond that after being revived.

Interesting thing I noticed, not exactly a spoiler. It seems that the distance between TFB and Rebooted is a LOT shorter than we thought. Nya's comment near the start about how it hadn't been very long since the Final battle and yet they had completely revamped NINJAGO City into New NINJAGO city, so it really means that if The Final Battle had have occured maybe three months after it was meant to

Dr Julien would have died already

I'm sorry, that's not really a plot-hole at all. In NINJAGO everything up to the Final battle happened for a reason and due to NINJAGO's "balance". If evil gains an upper hand, good gets something to balance it out. But really, I doubt it would have been something like 3 months, really more like 3 days, actually. Dr Julien, as implied by Cyrus Borg, must have died just before New Ninjago City was, ahem, "technofied". Not a plot hole in the slightest, if you want a big fat gaping plot hole look at Wrong Place, Wrong Time or the fact that the other elevator in The Surge didn't detect the Techno Blades.

Actually Ninjago is one of the very few LEGO shows that remains very consistent in its plot. I have never seen a show were each episode is always progressing in plot without the use of filler episodes.

Posted

That's not entirely true, but it is more or less true. The first half of Season 3 was really a filler plot but it was mainly wrapping off the cliffhanger of Season 2 and getting rid of the Elemental Weapons.

I actually saw the ultimate weapon episodes as a way to introduce new characters(Dareth, Lloyd's childhood friends) and more importantly it brought us to the point of no return, Lloyd becoming an adult, I wouldn't exactly call that filler, but understand your position.

Unfortunately though, there is a common misconception about how long Garmadon was in the Underworld for. It was at maximum probably about 11 years. Garmadon was banished soon after Lloyd's birth, and not to mention Kai's father had been adventuring with them long before Garmadon's full transformation to evil. Zane was also around far before Garmadon's banishment, Samukai was wearing his helmet when demanding Dr Julien build the Skeleton Army vehicles. I feel somewhat sorry for Zane, he's always just going to get more outdated and just live forever while everyone else dies.

To be honest I'm really more wondering about how they're going to pull off the rest of the season, it seems they've got some MAJOR plot twists ahead, with the hintings at Zane's true origins. That's not to say Zane wasn't built by Dr Julien, and because this isn't really a spoiler I'll say it, but PIXAL states that Zane was built from spare parts, and yet his power source is vastly different from any and every other power source in NINJAGO. In the new season (this isn't a spoiler as well) it is revealed that all of NINJAGO gets their power from the Storm Parks where a massive generator attracts lightning and converts it into clean, usable electricity. Which really further implies that NINJAGO is vastly different from our world, no fossil fuels (presumably), no gunpowder etc. Back on track, should said power source be turned off all of NINJAGO would be without power, including PIXAL. Some sources have back-up reserves, such as PIXAL, but are presumably rare. Zane however, can/will not be affected by such a thing because he has his own power source built into him. So after the ending of Episode 2 I have a feeling Zane's back story is going to come further into play, and a very certain inventor may make a return.

No, it's only a few months. Few weeks minimum. Dialogue from Nya and Cyrus confirm this, as Cyrus makes a reference to Dr Julien (which is a spoiler, so I won't say it) and Nya says they've only been gone for a short while. Kai also states they haven't been back there since the Overlord was defeated, so that adds on to Nya's little comment.

but in the beginning kai says it has been so long since the overlord was defeated

Several months is a long time! When something is said to be a long time, that doesn't exactly imply that years have passed. Due to Ninjago's advancements in technology during the first two (three) seasons, I'm not surprised that the futuristic look to the city was completed in very little time (on terms of a complete city's overhaul).

EDIT:

Presumably that's just an overstatement to indicate how bored they are.

This is also just as likely.

I have to say, though, it would be nice to be givem a definitive amount of time since the attack of Garmatron.

Judging by other posts he's made, that's as grammatically correct he's going to get...

If I understand him correct, he says he knows someone on the inside who shared legitimate information with him (the amount of time between Episodes 26 and 27). This was after saying:

...I think it is 7 years after the overlord was defeated

In other words, he has given the canned answer every tween has when he has no legitimate source. Sorry, but I've seen it way too often...

To change the subject:

Something crossed my mind. In the case of the Lego Movie (and most licensed movie themes) there is an accompanying video game released. I'm curious if we'll get a video game for the Ninjago Movie, and if so, if it will also include playable levels from the TV show.

If TT and WilFilm pool their resources together, we could have a video game masterpiece on the way!!

Ahh the very thought! If it were to have an open world it would be an instant buy!

Actually, Kai states that if feels like ages ago, not that it was a long time ago. He also says they have not been back there since the Overlord was defeated, and Nya says they were only gone for a short while. The actual technological rebuilding of NINJAGO City is mainly aesthetic, as the general lay-out of the City is more or less the same, and as seen in the introduction of The Surge, the majority of the buildings are more or less the same asides from the more technological aspects, such as the new vending machines, energy highways (presumably that's what they are, they're holograms at the least), Borg Tower, the new defense systems etc. All of this would not take much time to construct seeing as the entire Nindroid army was created in the space of a day and a half at maximum. The Nindroid Army also seems somewhat limited, if the backstory behind Min-droid is true that means the factory is presumably no longer producing Nindroids due to lack of metal, or lack of power (seems the Mechdragon drained a lot, which would explain why Cryptor and the nindroids were at the Storm Parks too)

I verified with the person today and I know it is 7 years

If I may rephrase what I was trying to say, saying you know someone doesn't justify fact. If "the person" had a name and possibly a position in Ninjago's production, then it would be fine in saying so. Even a screen-capture of said conversation would be a good enough source.

Ahh the very thought! If it were to have an open world it would be an instant buy!

Don't get me hyped up like that! Any thought of a legitimate Lego video game styled Ninjago game and its features make me go crazy!

penkid you and me are friends right so you should believe me my cousin knows Dan Hageman and his brother the writers of the show and I can't do a screen capture
