Mandate Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Same here. I got mine last night (Wednesday) for $16 from Woolworths (saw it on the shelf, couldn't resist :P). Don't go to Sanity to buy them. $20 at those stores. I haven't been able to find the release date for Volume 2 Also, sadly, seeing the episodes in proper quality revealed that the "voice swap" is still happening, a problem I thought they fixed... sigh. The budget expansion was smaller than I thought it was. The menu theme was, (like the previous ones) the same as the "theme". However, they just took the audio straight from the intro, fight sounds included. The outro music is the same as all of the previous episodes (as in, Season 2) Quote
PenPlays Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Also, sadly, seeing the episodes in proper quality revealed that the "voice swap" is still happening If I may ask, what do you mean by voice swap? I personally experienced a problem with the sound of "The Final Battle" Season (a problem that even in recent copies hasn't been resolved). It's too elaborate to go into detail explaining it, but I'm curious if you and I are having the same experience. The US won't be getting the DVD until August 5th. Mandate Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 No, I haven't had any audio issues with The Final Battle. Regarding what I meant by "voice swap" I mean when one character says something with another character's voice. Eg, Cole yelling "Nina GO!" in the Fire Temple in Episode 10 when only Kai and Lloyd are there, Kai saying Cole's words, etc. It's an animation problem, because there's full animation of the character's mouth. It was a lot more prevalent in Season 2. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I'm thinking Zane will come back but as a program or something. With a new ninja next year...6 seems like alot on center stage... But the question is raised...how do others have powers and where were they during both battles in Ninjago City. I'm pumped to get a larger Character selection next year. Quote
Oky Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 As I mentioned in the Ninjago 2014 thread, at the Lego Ninjago panel at SDCC it was confirmed that Ninjago will continue next year. There will be a new villain and a new color of ninja. The city and the show as a whole will not have the futuristic "Tron" vibe anymore, although the Nindroids will still be around in some form like all the previous factions, and the story will involve the ninjas discovering that they are not the only ones who have elemental powers. Also, the writers let the audience vote on who Nya will choose in a future episode, Jay or Cole, and... it was an almost unanimous vote for Jay! Quote
Mandate Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I'm glad that Nya is hopefully going to choose Jay in the end. Although, that's going to retcon the end of The Titanium Ninja in a way, although I suppose Nya going to Cole because of Zane's death isn't exactly a "choice", but it was heavily implied that it was Any word on whether or not they design the plot and then the sets are made, or if they're made side-by-side, or if they've gotten good enough to construct really good plots around the episodes? I'm aware that for the first two/three years the sets were made first, but I'm curious to find out how they do it now. Quote

Okay that might be good news even though I'm pretty bored with the fact that the writers are obviously trying to draw attentions by hook. The only good thing is that Nya's love story isn't always happy and she has her struggles. But in the end it would never turn out like this: Edited August 1, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Mandate Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Good grief, NINJAGO has close to the worse fanons I've ever seen. Although that's out of ones I have seen, so I dread what the internet has come up with that's worse. Anyway, Jay Vincent uploaded the "Mysterious Stranger" track to his Youtube channel. It has a startling likeness to the Serpentine themes. I wonder why that is? Quote
Oky Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Any word on whether or not they design the plot and then the sets are made, or if they're made side-by-side, or if they've gotten good enough to construct really good plots around the episodes? I'm aware that for the first two/three years the sets were made first, but I'm curious to find out how they do it now. They talked about that at the panel actually, and they said that the sets usually come first. There is a bit of collaboration going on, such as the writers trying to push for more involvement of female characters in the main plot (which TLG doesn't want apparently ), but usually they have to work the story around the sets, so sometimes they are forced to justify certain things, like for example why the ninja use vehicles instead of their dragons now (the reason being that they can gain an advantage by hacking their enemies' vehicles and turn them against them, much like how the villains are using the Nindroid blueprints against the ninja). Okay that might be good news even though I'm pretty bored with the fact that the writers are obviously trying to draw attentions by hook. The only good thing is that Nya's love story isn't always happy and she has her struggles. But in the end it would never turn out like this: Ha! Yeah, it sure wouldn't. Although I would love to see crossovers between the different Lego TV shows. Quote
Mandate Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) Either way, the plot for Rebooted was brilliant. Unfortunately, I've noticed some more errors in the animation other than characters swapping voice lines. The costume-change problem is still around, although it's far less notable than it was before. Nya at one point in Blackout was using her old outfit (the 2011 one), and Lloyd used his Kimono mid-scene in Codename: Artcurus during the close-up underneath the bell. But it's very subtle, because Nya was only seen from the side in her 2011 outift (when she was scolding Mindroid ) and the close-up on Lloyd focused only on his head and upper shoulders. Still though, less than before. Oh, and I noticed it was the Mailman who Nya crashed the bus into in The Surge EDIT: LEGO has uploaded Episode 34 in another language (it is legal, because LEGO uploaded it) :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qqwvbHbysg Edited August 2, 2014 by JayWalker Quote

Ha! Yeah, it sure wouldn't. Possibly, not until an upgrade version design of dragons is out would the ninjas ride dragons again. Female characters are here to fill the gap of plot needs but not product needs, Misako is the best example so far. Also, the only way for heroines to receive major attentions is to develop further interactions with the guys, and that is usually a new crush or a love triangle. It sounds inevitable, but I believe there are better ways to deal with it. The best solution is to directly add a female main ninja, which is almost dreamed by every fanon . Actually, since there would be more possible ninjas using the same elemental powers, there is a very good chance for us to get at least one official ninjago girl next year, which is a similar case with Li'Ella. > Although I would love to see crossovers between the different Lego TV shows. Yeah, big thanx to TLM. Quote
Mandate Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Well, personally I believe it's PIXAL who will be the new ninja, if not a completely new character. PIXAL has her own "symbol" and has purple as a main color, which isn't one of the five ninja colors (six, if you include Lloyd's golden suit). It would also make sense, if they continue the "Zane needs PIXAL to fight" thing, but I doubt they will considering Zane's half of his heart was blown up Although I just realized Zane's heart is like one of those "friendship lockets" except literally Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) So, in other news, that blooper reel from last year was finally uploaded in English! It 'confirms' things like last names, and that Lloyd's actor is old. -Sci Edited August 4, 2014 by CM4Sci Quote

Dorayaki Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I don't know. Just based on the leak Oky mentioned, it sounds like there would be four (or multiples of four) more ninjas who are newcomers able to use the four elemental powers. They probably wouldn't get new representive colors like yellow or orange. Much like what has been going on in Korra this year. For Pixal, I like her, but I personally feel strange about her purple outfit that doesn't look as a bot secretary (Velma, the closest case, does). I'd agree if she ruined her original uniform and borrowed it from Nya. But yeah, there is a chance. Since Zane would have to be stuck for a while, Pixal could become a temporary replacement for the team. Edited August 7, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Mandate Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 No, Zane isn't stuck in the Digiverse. The manufacturing areas were fired up and constructing something. So whether or not Zane has become a streamlined Metal Beard is yet to be seen, or if he's lost his ice powers. But PIXAL is almost certainly the new ninja, unless a new character comes in. PIXAL fits because of her color, and because she and Zane have a connection in battle with Zane's core. I'm wondering exactly what's going to happen now that one half is destroyed, because if I recall correctly PIXAL never gave Zane back his other half, and if so I either overlooked it or it wasn't seen on-screen. But the question of how it was made is going to annoy a lot of people if we don't get an answer soon, because it's a huge loose end that really needs to be tied up. Perhaps Julien had the evil ninja forge it, or was once one of them and ran off with the core because it was too powerful? It would make sense, given that it's an infinite energy source that effectively decimated the Golden Weapons in its explosion, it's something a bad guy would want. Quote

Each season (exluding Rebooted) begins with "filler" episodes. You get itty-bitty bits of story. At about the halfway mark of each season is when the story really begins to develop. I was surprised at this originally, but now Ninjago is one of my favorite TV series that's still going. Edited August 11, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Mandate Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Odd... a while back I noticed that in the intro to The Surge, Julien was missing from the photo of the ninja after the Final Battle. And I recently stumbled on this image: (sorry for image size, if an Admin could change it that would be good) Apparently the picture is from the NINJAGO theories website (yeah, they've deleted everything to do with "the final theory" which basically confirms they're attention seekers) and it really highlights how odd it is that in none of the scenes after the Final Battle is Dr Julien ever seen. I would suggest an upcoming retcon to his model, but after Zane's flashbacks during the Final Final Battle it seems improbable. It's pretty unlikely that they completely overlooked Julien, or ran out of time to even put him in a random spot somewhere, but it's still a really odd error. Not much to go on about it, but perhaps Julien's death is going to have some connection to the next year's plot and to the new villain/s? EDIT: LOL, turns out NINJAGO theories has removed any reference to "The Final Theory" whatsoever. Off-topic, but funny fact. Edited August 12, 2014 by JayWalker Quote

A few notes: first of all, note that Dareth is not wearing the helmet in the flashback picture, and the Ninja are not standing in the same order. This indicates that the two screenshots are not meant to depict the exact same moment, but rather different moments from the final battle's aftermath. Additionally, neither Zane nor Dr. Julien are in the picture. With that in mind, it's entirely possible that the flashback is being shown from Zane's perspective, and consequently, that Dr. Julien could be standing beside him, just as Lloyd's whole family is standing together. I wasn't watching the scene in question too closely, but I don't really see any obvious contradictions. Anyway, yesterday the Fold released their latest Ninjago song, "Spinnin' Out In Color". The music video features video clips submitted by Ninjago fans. It's neat to see how diverse the fans who submitted clips are, especially in terms of age and gender. There's also another song coming out next year called "Eye of the Storm", according to Amazon.com. I'm very much looking forward to it! All of their songs this year have clearly reflected the official Ninjago storyline, which is something I always like in a song based on a particular story or franchise. The were film recordings used in The Surge, subsequently cut short to Shower Kai Regardless of whether or not they're meant to represent separate moments, it's odd that Dr Julien is never shown once during the new season. I was rewatching some of the old episodes last night, specifically from the "The Final Battle" plot, and I feel that those 7 episodes were a lot better done than Rebooted. While Rebooted is easily the best season yet, episodes like The Void really brought it down. It wasn't some epic build-up and grand finale, it was more like a TV show were individual plots were present. There's also an insane amount of plot holes if you look closely. As I was saying though, The Void just felt tacked on. The sudden introduction of actual weaponry was silly, and the ending was so disappointing. Whereas Return of the Overlord, while it had a similar conclusion, the end didn't have the big plot hole of Nindroids flying home, which gives no reason whatsoever for why they returned to the ship, and why was no one, including the Nindroids, informed of the metal-eating bugs? There's a ton more. But Return of The Overlord ended in a way that it wasn't a disappointment as an episode. Rise of the Spinjitzu Master was better paced than the Titanium Ninja, and it didn't rip open plot-hole land with The Stone Wars. Way to retcon the idea that no one but Misako, Sensei and a few others knew of the Stone Army. The Titanium Ninja's ending makes it really a "one watch" episode. Character deaths (and subsequent resurrections) detract from episodes with age, the emotional response is dulled even if you forget what happened. That's not to say that Rebooted was bad, because it wasn't. Arcturus, Blackout, Curse of the Golden Master and Enter the Digiverse are easily some of the best episodes. But they tacked on too much over a short period of time, and they felt more like shortened MARVEL movies than an epic plot-line. Quote
