Mandate Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 After seeing those character videos, I'm actually excited again for the new season. Did I see ACTUAL water physics!? Finally! Quote

Mandate Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Where did you see water? I must have missed something. Cole and Jay hit each other's lunch trays, and one of their drinks spills over. The liquid that comes out isn't just a blob of mercury like it usually is. Edit: Aw, the next episode comes out on the 17th... Sigh. Also, the new soundtrack (and intro) just got a whole lot more awesome: Edited December 31, 2014 by JayWalker Quote
DarthLeapyous Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 The Anacondrai cultists so far have reminded me a lot of the Thugees from Temple of Doom. That part when Chen has the ceremony with the other cultists chanting made me think of that especially. Quote
Cagast Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) "There are still lots of worshippers of the Anacondrai...Could Chen be one of them? To Garmadon, it's very suspicious." No, it's not obvious at all, except snake staff with snake symbol, snake skull and skin on his head and his henchmen wearing their skulls and tattos all over their bodies. Mandate Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I'm pretty sure that's the kind of feel they were going for, was a merge of the classic "fight to the death" tournament with a secret Temple Of Doom-esque plotline, with a bit of NINJAGO thrown into it as well. If they were trying to achieve anything like what I've just said, they only managed the first and third of those. The cultists don't seem creepy or dark (but thankfully not unnecessarily dark), just a bunch of weirdos that worship snakes. Really, this has been one of the lightest seasons of NINJAGO already, excluding the pilots (and I'm willing to debate that, mind you) and the fillersodes between episodes 13-20. The first season by this point had the Monastery burned to a crisp, snake mutinees (and a 1v1 fight sequence), among other things. Hardly dark, but it was more serious than 2015's plot so far. Maybe it's because of Karlof's fate being revealed so early, maybe it's just because it's made the timeline absolutely crazy and devaluing some characters to the point they may as well not exist, but it just feels very empty so far. A lot of build-up, and a lot of nothing, really. Quote
Cagast Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 You don't know what Chen does in his factory. Maybe it's more than just producing noodles... Quote
Gatanui Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Personally I'm really enjoying this season so far and I look forward to some exciting fights in the tournament. Quote
Mandate Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Personally I'm really enjoying this season so far and I look forward to some exciting fights in the tournament. So am I, it just doesn't really feel the second episode was very focused, and after the first episode being very good (for an "intro" episode) it makes both episodes rather meh, IMO. Quote
bitbang Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I have never watched this show but my younger cousins seem to enjoy it. How long has it been going for? I might check it out. Quote
PenPlays Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I have never watched this show but my younger cousins seem to enjoy it. How long has it been going for? I might check it out. It's been going on since 2011. The seasons are relatively short. As an adult who has no kids to enjoy it with, I find the show very entertaining. There is some childish comedy, but there is a nice balance of that with some adult humor that goes over kid's heads. Ninjago is definitely worth your time. Quote

I'm not really feeling Chen's character as a villain. I'm fine with his "craziness," but it would be awesome if during the cult scene when he stole Karloff's powers, he had a completely different tone and had an evil, sinister and serious voice. But randomly crazy all around doesn't really sell him to me. Clouse IMO is a better villain than him. Edited December 31, 2014 by legozebra Quote

There's nothing about the Cultists that could be feared other than their lynch-mob nature. Clouse is the only one that seems to even have a clue what to do, and even then he's serving an idiot without question. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I have a feeling there might be a final show down with clouse rather than chen. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 It would be a really cool twist for Clouse to turn against Chen... Wonder if they will do anything like that. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I doubt it, but If clouse is the one that can turn people into snakes, it would be kind of cool for him to turn chen into a super snake. Quote
Mandate Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Pythor's probably going to come in at some point and wipe the floor with both of them. At least I hope so, anyway. Having Pythor, of all characters, serve Chen would be a terrible idea. Edit: http://41.media.tumb...l87vo1_1280.jpg That's one big snake. Calling it now, Garmadon will have history with this snake. STUPID THEORY TIME! He gets bitten and becomes evil again. We're in luck. Pythor really is the villain behind it all. Aaand the bad news, this is a one-wave plot. Well, time to kiss goodbye to NINJAGO Edited January 2, 2015 by JayWalker Quote

Mandate Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 It took me way too long to see that giant snake..... It gets worse. I just realized why those eyes are glowing. The stone is cracking as well, revealing you-know-what. Enter the Serpent was a strange name, but now that it's literal... If I was lived in Ninjago, my pants would be browner than Dareth's outfit at this point. Also, why the heck does Pythor want to awaken another giant snake? Quote

Mandate Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 How do you know? The description of the Mobile Ninja DB X gives it away. Plus, none of the set names from the Summer wave sound like they share the same plot, no snake names or anything. Also, "airjitzu" Quote

Wu said they will rebuild it and it will probably do that in the end of the season. We get bounty in the summer wave. I think only two sets are Anacondrai season based and others are Shadow of Ronin. Cagast Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Oh, I didn't see the summer set list. Is it in the Ninjago 2015 topic? Yes. They are mainly about Shadow of Ronin. Also, why the heck does Pythor want to awaken another giant snake? I think that's Clouse's Anaconda pet. Quote
