"Unlike this past year’s Lego Ninjago Nindroids game, this new entry in the series is not based on the ongoing Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV show."

This only says it is not going to be based on the TV series, not they don't exist in the same universe. Take KoTOR, and any one of the video games based on the two trilogies. KoTOR isn't based on the movies, like the other game, but it fully exists in the same universe - it's just not "based" on a movie.

I don't think we'll see an entire line, though. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the Ronin minifig released as a polybag, or possibly even a single set, but I don't expect a whole line.

This summer is probably made up of both Ronin and possibly current season sets.

This is exactly what I'm saying all the time, but nobody gets me.

It's also for the PS Vita. And why wouldn't we? LEGO Releases a line of Lego Ninjago, in this case Ronin, children buy the sets and don't need the video game to make a story line. Or, Children buy the game and because they like the came, they really want the sets. I agree, not having it on big platforms, is and interesting tactic, But we ARE getting Ronin sets. This summer is probably made up of both Ronin and possibly current season sets.

Oh, right, the PS Vita. The handheld console whose own developer abandoned it. There is no reason whatsoever for nearly the entire second wave of NINJAGO for 2015 to be about Ronin, and it won't.

The reason I say we won't probaby get another season until September or October, is because like 2012, We had a new season around that time, and had the sets released later that year. Stone Army season if i'm correct.

We don't know this at all. We know nothing about the Ninjago Movie except it's in the same universe as the Lego Movie. and I'm not even sure where that's sourced...

We do, actually. Same universe, same rules apply. And it was Phil Lord and Chris Miller that stated they would be in the same universe (aka very reputable source). Also the "Enter the NINJAGO" minimovie (which someone websites claim to be a teaser of the movie) came out quite a few months ago now.

Same rules apply? Ehh no. You camn't just assume that. Also that "Enter the Ninjago" Trailer was a joke. With what we know about the game, I honestly doubt it will get only one set. This is supposed to be the most expansive ninjago game to date. It would be a bad move on Legos part to to make sets for Ronin.

Now, now. Keep in mind that none of the other Lego games before this produced any sets that directly tied in with their games, yet most of them still sell extremely well. However, Brainiac Attack may very well be the first in a hopefully long line of sets based off of designs from Lego games.

And seeing how this IS only Vita and DS, it's market will be small. None the less, from a marketing stand point, you have a handheld game and sets to go with it. Like I said before, I doubt this whole line will be all Ronin, but half would make sense, leaving the other half to finish off the current season. But having sets and a video game are good for profit regardless of which kids buy first. Ultimatmly, one purchase will lead to the other. Atleast that's what's hope for.

I know Braniac's skull ship was in the game, but so were several other vehicles... And Supergirl wasn't even part of the main game story, so I think Braniac attack was just a separate set and the game included it, and not vice versa...

Good grief, it's a frickin' handheld game. We know absolute zip about it other than platforms, name, small amounts of story details, and an eyesore of a minifigure. Half a wave is too much for it. Not even LEGO City Undercover got more than one set, and it was a "flagship" title for the Wii U, and heavily marketed. I'm telling you now, not even half the second wave sets will have anything to do with the Ronin game.

Why do you think this season is all about one wave of sets then? It has more than 8 episodes, so probably 13 as every other season except rebooted had 13, and it begins in February in US, and there will be some breaks between episodes, this season won't end before June. Plus in the first episode it was hinted Bounty is going to be restored, and there is summer 2015 set with Destiny's Bounty. For the guy who said Ninja DB X is Destiny's Bounty - it's not. To "restore a flying ship" doesn't mean make a huge truck. Also, Obisidian Weapons means collectable items, which is perfect for the sets. This is what I think will happen. And I will think the same until we see offical pictures.

Same universe doesn't at all mean movies have to have the same tone. Just look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of its movies like Guardians of the Galaxy have been much sillier in tone than others like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Even this article noted that "Ninjago likely would be an action-adventure movie with comedic elements, as opposed to Lego Movie's straight comedy."

That does raise a good point....

But City as a theme has never had a story line. It's just been sets full of firefighters, police, and criminals, plus the only character that we hadn't seen as a mini-fig in that game was Chase McCain. This game is an entirely new frontier for Lego, they're creating a game, that coincides with a current Lego Hit! and while it won't be part of the series, TV show wise, this game will has serious play ablity. Like Cagast was saying, the obsidian blades have potential for a really cool Collectible. Not to mention the possibility of yet another Ninja suits.

Hrm, I guess Lego has never really done anything like this before. I'm curious to see how many sets based on the line will be produced... Will it be obvious at Toy Fair? Since the game isn't out yet, how do we know exactly what sets are based on the game (besides the obvious Ronin R.E.X.) For example, we could see a mech, but it could be based off the game or the show. Unless the box explicitly states "Shadow of Ronin" (Which there is a high chance of) I don't see any way of determining what sets are for the game and what sets are for the show until we get more conclusive info about both the game and show...

Anyway, this most likely belongs in the Ninjago 2015 thread...

This isn't about this year being divided into two plots, this is about a game (which isn't even a major release) getting nearly its own entire wave. Sets are not mutually exclusive to a certain wave/season. Studs are the perfect collectable items, yet we haven't seen them explicitly featured as such. We don't even know what Obsidian weapons look like.

I'm really curious where you got this idea that the Summer wave is going to be (for the most part) specifically Shadow of Ronin? Do you have insider information?

Ugh, the dialogue is so poorly paced, giving far too much exposition in a short space of time. Not to mention there's a huge problem with "The ultimate question - what happened to Zane?" is completely blown out of the water when you show exactly what happened in the trailer.

Jay also breaks his leg. Guess he took showbiz too literally.

It doesn't show exactly what happens, we already knew he was alive, and the fact that he is a prisoner doesn't really tell much. How did he get captured? Why does he look different? Does he have his ice powers? etc...

Agreed... At the current rate the episodes have been paced, I assume we'll know by next episode (or the one after it) when Cole finds Zane and gets kicked out of the tournament...

Actually, most of your questions have already been answered (and one of them was answered in episode 34)

After Zane died he constructed a new body with better technology than before, but kept his general appearance. He did have his ice powers, but Chen stole them. We don't exactly know how he was captured, but my money is on Pythor playing a role in it.
