Well, those definitely are the Nunchucks of Lightning. Just wonder how he got them.

Maybe the ninja are given multiple wishes or Jay just spends his free wish on something dumb like an eyepatch and they actually find the Overlord's fragments and recollect them, then go to the Golden Peaks to make the fragments into weapons?

Maybe Jay got his eyepatch because all his years of jay walking has finally gotten to him. Eh? Huh?? Am I right???

Sorry...

I agree with you. Those are definitely golden nunchucks of lightning. As they looks extraordinary!

I would love having the Ninja return to their roots, and would love to see the Golden Weapons again. If they truly will reforge the Golden Master's armor, than wouldn't that mean that they would forge weapons for Nya and Lloyd too? I would love to see the weapons choice should the story got that direction.

Yeah, it's high time Lloyd got a proper signature weapon! Most years there has been some kind of special weapon or artifact for the original four ninja (golden weapons of Spinjitzu in 2011–2012, elemental blades in 2013, Techno-Blades in 2014), but nothing for Lloyd but plain old katanas. In the show he has his energy blasts, but that doesn't lend itself to as many exciting scenes and poses in vignettes.

Nya's signature weapon situation is more complicated. The sets were pretty consistent about giving her some variation on her nick daggers in 2011, but from then on, like Lloyd, her only consistent weapon was some type of katana. In the show, her only signature weapon is her boomerang blade she used as a samurai, which never appeared in the sets.

In LEGO Dimensions, both characters just use katanas: Lloyd has gold ones and Nya has black ones.

I don't honestly know what kind of signature weapon would best suit either of these characters in the sets. I would really like for Nya to go back to using daggers or maybe sais. But for Lloyd, who knows? I'd be happy so long as it doesn't feel redundant next to the other ninja's signature weapons.

As for how the nunchucks (and possibly other golden weapons) could come back, when you introduce a magical wish-granting genie to a series, anything's possible. It's safe to say next year's story probably involves some wish going awry, but we don't know what kind of wish that might be.

Well, Lloyd said it himself " I don't even need a sword "

I don't have a problem with Lloyd not using a signature weapon, I have a problem with him not using one at all. It's making him a boring character, as all he does are flips and blasts these days. Even if it is just a regular sword, I'd still like him to use at least some sort of weapon regularly (he uses weapons, but rarely). I mean, we already know he is proficient in the use of just about every weapon. So why doesn't he just use one? Out of ideas, Hagemen?

Nya has this problem, but not as much as Lloyd. At least in the show she had and used a signature weapon rather than none at all. But now that she is a ninja, I think she will just use her fists and powers just like Lloyd.

It would be cool if we got "golden weapons, 2.0" Like cooler versions of the golden weapons, but still have the same structure (Like the dragon heads are different). After all the Sonic Raider is getting an upgrade.

It would be cool if they had new molds such as the shirukens they used for the airjitzu flyers.

They aren't new. Those are the same shuriken that they used since the theme's inception.

I must agree that Lloyd simply isn't what he used to be thematically. Sure he was the big deal in the first two seasons, but, as the necessity of having him as the "Chosen One" has died down, he's just gotten stale. I was absolutely thrilled when he took the back seat for "Possession" and I was a bit disappointed to see that it didn't affect him very much. In Tournament of Elements, he was the only Ninja that was keeping everyone on track which detracted from whatever personality he had, and it doesn't seem that this dutiful, and semi-wise Lloyd is going to disappear.

As a positive though, this has allowed the other Ninja to develop tremendously, and I couldn't be more happy about that!

I couldn´t agree more on what you just said. Possibly the same will happen to Nya. Since we´re getting a "new ninja" and Skylor´s return, it won´t be such a big deal that Nya´s a ninja.

They did get a new molding for the Airjitsu wave, though, one where they are now two on a sprue.

True. It wasn't new in 2011 with the spur, but the spur still isn't fresh from the Airjitzu wave. The Stone Army year at the earliest.

Where do you discuss it then? (what are they even for??)

Also, I thought the texture on the shurikens was what was called the sprue (like the handle on a katana) but it seems i'm wrong.

Well, now that the prophecy stuff is out of the way, Lloyd developed as well. In seasons 4 and 5, he goes on adventures with his dad (and exchange quips and such) as well as being kind of that person who gets on the bad guy's nerves.

But that's just it. Quips, some odd wisdom (which is very becoming of his age and almost unfitting), or concern about his father/friends. That's not development, though. That's just dialogue to keep the show going.

The only reason Lloyd gets on villains' nerves is either due to the (now passed) prophesy, or his reputation for being the center of said prophesy. That's not exactly development either.

What I meant is, that we get insight into his character. Like how in season 5 he is acting more like a teenager than an adult (not that he is one, but he is expected to) The quips are just creative insults as well, which I find a bit funny.

A sprue is a "piece of metal or plastic that has solidified in a sprue, especially one joining a number of small molded plastic items." (From Google)

Lego has been using sprues for a long time, most notably with the flower elements.

This probably belongs in the set discussion as we are talking about physical pieces, not the TV show

We really need a secondary lady aside from Misako (and the fact P.I.X.A.L. doesn't physically exist) now that Nya is a main character (which has been nearly 6 years in the making!)

Lloyd is boring, Pixal is Zane's waifu, Nya was forced into being a ninja based on "equality" for ironically stupid and arbitrary reasons, Garmadon dies whenever the plot wills it, plot holes go completely unexplained (unless we get a half-hearted nod in the NEXT season), plot threads are never touched on again, and characters react in bizarre ways that contradict their established personalities (see: Nya, but that one deserved its own point)... this show is a train wreck disaster when it comes to the story, I don't understand how you people can still put up with its shenanigans at this point.

Seeing as everyone else is doing it, I may as well go into detail about my thoughts on the new sets.

- Cole's Dragon

Looks boring, has gappy wings, Cole is dull and boring while the other figure is a vibrant mess of colors.

- Ninja Bike Chase

Kai's bike is overexposed, Nya's bike would be decent if it weren't for that contraption out the front (don't these bikes have a function or something? If it's not flying bike version 1267 then that's pretty cool). I really don't like the flying trash can. Also: thank you very much LEGO for giving us a second motorbike for Kai and breaking the vehicle diversity in characters. /s

- Sky Shark

Neat design. Really, it's probably my favorite set out of the entire wave. Minor gripe is the junkyard aesthetic. C'mon, LEGO, you did it so well in TLM. Lloyd's jetpack is comically overpowered, but it's a tablescrap thing so I don't expect much.

- Jay's Elemental Dragon

Looks just like every other dragon we've gotten from this line. It's getting stale, LEGO, please do something to spice it up again.

- Raid Zeppelin

That is a very small zeppelin, and a very weird hoverboard. I don't think it's helping that I'll spend the next few months on this little beauty in Fallout 4.

- Tiger Widow Island

My worst fears were confirmed. Pirate jetpack is cool (if an overused design), Wu in aviator goggles is amazing. The base itself is very underwhelming, and the surrounding scenery isn't the greatest we've ever gotten (except for that arch... that is pretty cool).

- Misfortune's Keep

Would it have killed LEGO to make this thing tan, brown and dark orange? Would have done wonders for the aesthetic. It's not even a very cool base design, flying pirate airship would have been way nicer than a junkyard VTOL with a driftwood shack strapped to the bottom. Whatever that thing is Lloyd is flying... no, just no LEGO.

Fortunately these are prelims, there should be a massive turn-around with the design of some of them. Unfortunately that orange and dark green colorscheme isn't going anywhere, eugh. I'm not trying to be a "negative nancy" or some anti-popular stuff guy but I really don't like these.

EDIT: Whoops, thought I was in the 2015 thread for some reason.

Well, Nya as a samurai was very vulnerable the second she loses her mech, so I'm glad. Also, who said it was "equality"? Maybe Lego ran out of ideas for the samurai outfits.

As for he plot-holes, they never expected the show to be this popular, so it could be forgiven that they didn't have the time. And the plot has holes, but they are not large enough to ruin the show's direction/make it unwatchable.

- Cole's Dragon

Looks boring, has gappy wings, Cole is dull and boring while the other figure is a vibrant mess of colors.

I thought the same, only reason to buy it is for ghost Cole, who isn't even included. Or a cheap way to get one pirate. And last time I checked, his elemental dragon doesn't even look like that in the show. Would have been cool if they actually based it off that one, since it's mostly green, with some brown and a little bit of purple.

We really need a secondary lady aside from Misako (and the fact P.I.X.A.L. doesn't physically exist) now that Nya is a main character (which has been nearly 6 years in the making!)

Well, if Lego threw in that pun on purpose, Skylor will have a role to play.

That´s sadly true. Maybe they could´ve done it viceversa making a small pirate vehicle and including the same minifigs and keeping the same price. So then, they could´ve done a much better dragon for Cole on the summer wave or in another wave. It´s just not fair that the ninja and Sensei Wu get big and cool dragons and Cole gets a crappy one.

Good idea, the pieces for the dragon can instead be used on the ship and only the ship. Pretty lame how they also made him in a human form. I bet that doesn't even happen in the season.

I completely agree. Heck, I don't know how I can still watch the show, much less enjoy it so much.

When Nya became a Ninja, I felt like Nya's special abilities were being wasted to put her on par with the Ninjas. She wasn't a Ninja with Spinjitsu and elemental abilities, she was a Samurai with unique technology and mechanical engineering skills. The word "equality" isn't being used in the show, but when they made her just like the other Ninjas, they took away what made her unique and, dare I say, better.

I don't mind P.I.X.A.L. taking a back seat, but Garmadon has practically "died" in EVERY SEASON. (In season 3 he only appeared to die for 45 seconds at the end of the fourth episode, but I'm still counting it.) As for Lloyd, I feel like he got boring when he turned "gold". He fulfilled his prophecy and has nothing to do, but this isn't Walking Dead-we're stuck with him.

People used to laugh at me when I told them Legends of Chima did a better job keeping its story together than Ninjago. I wonder how if they're still laughing.

I really don't think it was because of equality. Maybe LEGO got tired of the samurai thing and ran out of ideas. And, Nya's skills didn't improve. At all. She gets destroyed anytime she leaves her suit. They just gave her powers to help her, or they wanted to make Nya shine in this season.

Wait a minuite. Wasn't Nya the main character anyway? Why is Lloyd's face on the box then?
