micromatt4 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I was told the funds had been authorised for my account affecting my 'actual' balance, and I'd be refunded this after the weekend. I'm still shocked they never sent an email explaining what has happened. There will be dozens of people waiting for a parcel next week, completely oblivious that the pre-order has been cancelled. Quote
L@go Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I had the same phone call experience today. It seems what they have done is simply automatically cancel all orders that had a PR in them. Now, I don't have a problem with fixing a mistake, but I ordered a discounted 10230, Mini Modulars, as well, and that's also gone, as it was part of the same order. So, I can order PR again on New Year's Eve, the customer service employee told me, but as 10230 is now sold out world-wide, that opportunity is lost, because of how LEGO handled this situation. I can't quite understand their thinking in this matter - this makes a lot of customers unhappy. Quote
SwissBrick Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Well it seems it happened to me as well.... Can't find the order on the "track order" page of Lego Shop@Home and did not receive any confirmation via email either. On the swiss shop, it still says available for pre-orders (http://search-fr.lego.com/?q=10243&cc=CH) but when you click on add to cart, it says it's available on Jan 1st.. This just NOT ACCEPTABLE... especially in situation where it has other consequences (i.e. L@go and the 10230...). If my credit card has been charged, and if it is the case with many customers, this can be called Robbery as money has been transfered to a Bank account where it can make profit... without receiving a good or service in return. No email from TLG to inform the customers is the worth... if they were able to cancel all orders with 10243 in it, they should be able to send an automatic email as well to apologize for the problem. Quote
astra Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I've ordered the set also, and also didn't get a confirmation. As stated before, there probably was a mistake in the order system. We'll have to see what happens, probably have to order again on January 1st. However, considering the excellent customer service Lego operates, I think that they will come with a statement of some sort. Don't forget, it is the holiday season with minimum staffing, and things tend to take longer. I'm not worried, it's not as if you're dealing with a shady webshop that exists only a couple of weeks Quote
SwissBrick Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Don't forget, it is the holiday season with minimum staffing, and things tend to take longer. You mean maximum staffing as it is the period when they make maximum profit ... It's the period when the website just cannot have a breakdown... Quote
astra Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 No, I meant minimum staffing, but on the support/technical and marketing departments You're probably right on the sales departments, but I doubt if they can solve technical problems on the site or give a formal statement on these problems. That will probably be in the first week of 2014, when everyone comes back to work... Quote
SwissBrick Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I understood and technical dpt is certainly not understaffed at the highest sales period of the year (SAP must be up and running at max reliability, specific logistics systems also...), and, since there were already issues with 10243 on the s@h website, plus the rumour of an early pre-order date for VIPs, I am sure this is not a purely technical issue. There is a decision process before launching a product on the site or retiring it from the search engine (previous "accident"), it's not an error that can lead to it, as there must be approval prior to a techie pressing the wrong button... . Also a spokes person is always available, especially in critical periods, trust me... as well as a person saying OK cancel these orders... Quote
astra Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Ah well... We'll see if Lego gives a formal statement in the coming days... Quote
micromatt4 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I would have appreciated a formal email or message from them explaining the screw up - especially considering I now have £130 missing from my bank account! Quote
Rick Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I have moved the posts about the pre-order (problems) out of dj2005's review thread into the Parisian Restaurant news & discussion thread. Quote
astra Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 ah ok! I was wondering where that part of the discussion went... Maybe a link to this thread in the other discussion? Quote
timmyc1983 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Well it seems like the whole LEGO site is down in Australia. I can't even access the home page and when I tried to go directly to the shop to see what was going on, the page kept loading and loading but never making it... They may have some real technical problems Quote
astra Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Not only in Australia, I can't open the site either... /edit: working again, with some glitches here and there. Edited December 28, 2013 by astra Quote
ScotNick Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) In the Vienna Lego Store it's already available. (not my picture though) Edit: changed link Edited December 29, 2013 by ScotNick Quote

micromatt4 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Just checked my bank account, and the funds taken for the pre-order of the Parisian restaurant still haven't been refunded. Has anyone else been refunded yet? Quote
LegoSjaak Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I Always pay afterwards.....here you can order and after 1 week you get a bill and simply credit lego's bankaccount...it is simple... so my account has still the red numbers as usuals....! Quote
dragofoscar Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Just checked my bank account, and the funds taken for the pre-order of the Parisian restaurant still haven't been refunded. Has anyone else been refunded yet? Hi How did you pay? Via credit card or via direct debit? I think via direct debit, as you can see the payment right now. I payed via credit card and threfore i can not see any payment yet - lets wait till the monthly invoice is coming. Lego told me on the phone that there will be oayment from my account (credit card) the time when shipped. Next time payment afterwards! Quote
micromatt4 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yes, I paid by Debit Card. The amount has been authorised from my account, so has been subtracted from the actual funds 'available'. I've been in contact with Customer Services, but no word on when we'll be getting a refund. Quote
AlteredBricks Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I am very excited about this kit. Quote
szmmate Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Does someone know whether the PR is still available in the Lego Store Wien SCS? I live in Budapest so it would be just a 3 hour ride to Vienna. (I can't wait to get hold of the set, I'm starting to go mad :D) And will they be open on the 2nd of January? (I'm only asking this since in Hungary a lot of stores are closes not only on New Year's Day but also on the 2nd of January). I'd really appreciate if someone could answer these question. And of course, Happy New Year to all of you! Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 szmmate, I would definitely recommend giving them a call, not only to verify that they are open, but also to see if they can hold one for you while you make your way to Vienna. I must admit, one thing even more exciting to me than building the PR soon would be the ability to get to Vienna within 3 hours! It is almost time, I noticed that the Police ATV is now in my shopping cart with a PAB order, and that is supposed to be the promo offer for January. Of course, I tried to place PR in the basket, but it is not quite there yet. Quote
szmmate Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Hmm, it's interesting. The Australian s@h page of PC still only says 'Coming Soon' and it cannot be ordered yet. Are all of the Lego employees partying at the moment? :D @AFOLguy1970: I'll definitely call them on 2nd January. (My German is not so good, though.) Quote

Are all of the Lego employees partying at the moment? It's normal for the AU site to swap from "available from [date]" to "Coming Soon" just before it becomes available for sale. This is where it's at now. So, in between posting here, I'm hitting the refresh button on the AU shop at home site! Quote
