Timoonn Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 it is unfortunate that the number of outputs is not increased to 4. I hope that an rechargeable battery (via usb) is included Quote

I hope that an rechargeable battery (via usb) is included Based on which information? Looking at the pictures, it seems that there are 4 sensor ports and 4 output ports. JopieK Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 @Timoonn... Read... it IS!!! Proof: (@Ted: you beat me to it ;)) Quote
Jim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) (@Ted: you beat me to it ;)) Hehe And I see rubber bands for the threads to have more grip. I like those. I had come up with a solution myself, including rubber thingies, but this looks great!! The Ultrasonic sensor looks more like the old one, than the one on the other pictures? Or is the other one a dedicated IR sensor? And is that a gyro or acceleration sensor (on the Segway)? Edited January 7, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 US sensor is only in education sets. Retail has the black eyes.. Infrared I guess. So no US sensor in retail sets. Quote

I was deceived by the lower width.it looks like the nxt in x x x x out x x x but in fact there are 4 outputs, ports are tighter :o it is unfortunate that the number of outputs is not increased to 5... wait... oh, and there are "new" panels (juste and ugly update) Edited January 7, 2013 by Timoonn Quote
Jim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) The third sensor with the arrows, is that a compass sensor? it is unfortunate that the number of outputs is not increased to 5... wait... (welcome to EB btw) Edited January 7, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 An Accelerometer would make more sence regarding the pictures of the education sets (segway) Quote

Which ones are in the retail and which ones are in the educational sets? Joined: 24-August 07 Member: 1906 Sorry, my bad! You old lurker you Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Retail: 1 Touch sensor 1 IR Seeker 1 IR Beacon 1 Color Sensor Quote
Jim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Retail: 1 Touch sensor 1 IR Seeker 1 IR Beacon 1 Color Sensor Thanks! And your best guess about the color? Very light bluish grey, like the current one or white? Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I guess StarWars white combined with Light Bluish Gray, Red and Black. Quote
Jim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I guess StarWars white combined with Light Bluish Gray, Red and Black. Forgive me for asking, cause I only know plain/basic White and Very Light Bluish Grey, but by Star Wars white you mean basic white, right? Quote
Jim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Yes.. White like in the 4x4 offroader :) Exactly! I used to be a big fan of the very light bluish grey, but I guess plain white does look better with red and black. Time to fire up Bricklink for some liftarms and panels (I will wait till we know this for sure) Quote
Strikeman Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) It looks like it'll have a rechargeable battery instead of a bunch of batteries ? I also like the medium motor; it's much more "useful" for me as I don't always find a way to incorporate the current ones ... Edited January 7, 2013 by Strikeman Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Well, the NXT2.0 was very hard to combine with basic white.. So, maybe when the EV3 is in basic white, we will see al lot more White mindstorms creations.. Quote

Can you explain where you see the rechargeable battery or why you think it has one? The medium motor is indeed great (for addional features). Well, the NXT2.0 was very hard to combine with basic white.. So, maybe when the EV3 is in basic white, we will see al lot more White mindstorms creations.. True! I guess white will become much more popular now. Very light bluish grey was kind of an odd color, since it was very rare besides the NXT models. Edited January 7, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
Ramacco Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 It has a batterypack, just like the nxt.. But it doesn't come with the retail set I guess. Quote
Strikeman Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) Can you explain where you see the rechargeable battery or why you think it has one? When you click on the link in my reply, it'll bring you to a part that is called "rechargeable battery". this is part of the EV3 press release, so I'm assuming it's for the EV3 kit Edited January 7, 2013 by Strikeman Quote
