LegoFjotten Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 This is part II of the story, see also: Part I - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87298 Our journey to Corellia had proven uneventful so far. As a precaution we had been dropped off several miles out from our destination, and travelled by foot towards our target. Trekking through the lush forest was a welcome change of pace from the usual spaceships, but we all kept our focus on the mission. The plan was to enter the equipment cache from a little known side entrance. Even though we had pretty exact coordinates, we spent a while searching for the entrance. "Over here Sergeant!" Jackson said, "Found it!". Peering into the darkness of the small cave sent a little shiver down my spine. What was waiting for us inside? We would know soon. (To be continued in the next free build. C&C welcome! I'd like this to be judged. Quote
TWP Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Good work! I really like your builds. however, it would be nice if you experimented a bit on different borders too. It's not that I don't like it though, I do like it, it's just, try to do something different. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Another clean little build. I like how everything flows together, from the ground to the foliage to the cave and the owl and mushrooms are a nice touch. You're on the fast track up the ranks my friend! Quote
mpoh98 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Lovely build, the base is cool! I love the foliage crawling over the cave, it gives it a lovely feel. :D Well done! Quote
Bkrosell Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I love the way you did the trees, excellent job on the rocks to. Quote
CMP Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Awesome work, I loved the sloped effect of the leaves. Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Nice little clean build. I too like the leaned leaves and the bambus piece on the antena. The owl looks too earthly though. Quote
LegoFjotten Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Thanks for the comments guys! As for the owl, owls are part of the Star Wars universe, though I agree it would look more at home in a Harry Potter moc. Quote
MKJoshA Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I really like how you designed your base. Quote
SSchmidt Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I think this build is awesome. It is so clean and your cave is excellent! I also disagree with comments about the base. I think it is really neat and unique to your builds, so I would keep using it. Although I may try a different color occasionally. Very nice build! Quote
LegoFjotten Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks for the comments! The base is pretty much stolen from Brickdoctor (he suggested it for one of my earlier builds). He built his base properly though, mine is just a cheap knock-off. :D Future builds will both be without a base and with different bases. For small vignettes like this I prefer a base without too much details. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 It's not often that we see a lot of landscaping like this in SW MOCs. All the different angles of rocks and leaves and all the different shades of greens and browns — it looks fantastic. If there was something to add, I think it would be some sort of subtle technological bits hidden in there to make it look a little bit more Star Warsy. Quote
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Judges have awarded you 4 XP! Your character's stats will be updated shortly. Quote
Gideon Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) Lovely vignette, my favourite parts are the tree and the color mix on the ground on the right! Your photography is also excellent, although I think you could get rid of some glare in the pieces by using a darker backdrop (which is something I'm going to get soon as well). Steel Tiger Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Excellent use of greenery as camouflage! Maybe a hidden exit on the side instead of plain rock? If that was present, I think it would complete the set. I like the owl too. Quote
