j30spiff Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I read somewhere that someone who recently purchased (6212 X-Wing) noticed that the minifigs now have white pupils. Has anyone else heard this? If so, does anyone have comparison photos showing the difference? Quote

Has anyone else heard this? If so, does anyone have comparison photos showing the difference? They're just the new updated faces. (e.g., Luke from the Landspeeder and Han from the AT-AT) You might get both new, both old, or a combination. There's really no way to tell. Quote
tppytel Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 UCS ISD Instructions errors? Just received a shiny, new ISD today... needless to say, I'm pretty psyched! Given my limited time to build after dealing with work and kids, this will probably keep me occupied for a month or so. However, I've read several reports that the instructions contain quite a few errors, including some that are somewhat significant and confusing. Any truth to that? If so, is there a list of corrections anywhere? Were the errors corrected when TLG reprinted the manual in spiral form (which is what I have)? Thanks! Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 Does anyone know where I can find the ranking, like how many posts till i'm a citizen, how many posts till i'm a duke and so on?Thanks Well, even if this is totally not related to LSW, this is the topic that will quench your curiosity. Just a friendly reminder to all though, let's keep the questions in this thread related to Lego Star Wars. Thank you. Quote
Churchill Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 A-wing helmets: I need some help from the OT purists (and maybe EU) out there. I've always felt that the helmet that Lego uses for the A-wing wasn't right, and after rewatching ROTJ, I decided to try some aviator helmets on my a-wing pilots. Today I tried the different variations on my pilots and decided to research the helmets again online. I've just always felt that the Lego a-wing helmet looked too much like a racing helmet. On Wookipedia, under "Rebel Pilots" there is an a-wing helmet that looks pretty close to the Lego version, including the stripes. But... when I look at pics of the a-wing pilots ("Arvel Crynyd" and "Jake Farrell") they aren't wearing that helmet. Honestly, it seems to me that of all the Lego helmets, that the aviator matches it most closely. Is it me, or is the Lego helmet (and the "Rebel Pilot" Wookie entry) wrong? Quote
The Legonater Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The helmet seen in the Rebel Pilot page is correct- that one can clearly be seen during the Battle of Endor. As you said, the LEGO one matches it pretty well, though the shape is a little off. It's highly possible that these other pilots wear custom helmets. Quote
Fallenangel Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I think all the pilots at Endor just wore whatever helmet they had, so either the helmet from the set or an aviator helmet would work. I know there's one pilot that wore a helmet resembling the one in the set, and I know Green Leader (the one who flew into the Executor's bridge) had a helmet resembling an aviation helmet. Quote
Churchill Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Hmm. Guess I'm going to have to watch ROTJ again tomorrow/today. I don't recall seeing the Lego style helmet on an awing pilot. The only "screen shot" photos I know from online are the one of the pilot that crashed into the Star Destroyer (the pilot who's become "Arvel Cynyd" and the one shown during the run into the DS, who's become "Jake Farrell." They both have aviator style helmets. At least it doesn't sound like the consensus is that it would be wrong to use aviator helmets instead. And I agree that they used whatever they could find. Though, you could argue that there was some effort at uniformity, since the flight suits are all green. I don't know. It's confusing. At least I don't feel bad that my evolving Awing moc isn't an exact match for the ones in ROTJ since there wasn't any standard production run by one company of them before Endor. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Are there any Snowtroopers with helmets not fused to the backpacks? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Are there any Snowtroopers with helmets not fused to the backpacks? Nope. But a knife, glue and a white neck bracket can net you one. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Nope. But a knife, glue and a white neck bracket can net you one. Sounds like a quick and easy project, thanks for the idea! I'll probably make a post about that on our site. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Sounds like a quick and easy project, thanks for the idea! I'll probably make a post about that on our site. I'd ask around in the Minifig Customization forum first - I'm no expert at this and I have no idea how difficult it would be. I assume it would just be a matter of slicing off the backpack, sanding out the bit that was between the helmet itself and the actual pack, and filling in the pack cavity with a glue or something to attach it to the bracket. Maybe clay, so that the backpack could then have a bracket-shaped indentation and be removable. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 No worries, I customize action figures, I do this kind of stuff all the time. Quote
pompommini Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Sorry if this has been possted before but with my 10188 Death Star I got at Christmas 2010, instead of having a 'Circle' box and other shape boxes there where four numbered boxes inside. Inside they were numbered bags. Box 1-Built the the small bottem floor and the floor with Trash Compacter. Box 2-Built the ground for floor 2. Box 3-Built every thing else for floor 2. Box 4-Built the top floor. I just thought I'd point this out. Pompommini out Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Is that photo mirrored? I'm 99% sure there has never been a left-handed LUL. That' is the Ep. 3 LUL Anakin, from the Ultimate Lightsaber Duel set. He should have a blue lightsaber blade (although if you got a purple that's even better towards your collection) and long brown hair. Quote
RileyC Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Is that photo mirrored? I'm 99% sure there has never been a left-handed LUL. Yeah it is. You can tell because his classic lego man hair sweeps the other way. But brickdoctor has got this all right. If he has a purple blade be sure to keep him nice and safe! Things like that could be worth a lot on bricklink! Quote

DS2626 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the info, looks like i'll have to change the hair and light saber color, when I bought him he was in a big pack with lots of other legos and he was bald so I just got a random hair piece and I found the purple-blue lightsaber in the pack of legos too. Thanks again! EDIT:@ Rvb I got it in a big pack of lego that was about 30 X 20cm big and it cost like 4 or 5 USD Edited February 13, 2011 by DS2626 Quote
