XimenaPaulina Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 Isnt that what the do by making the new cw show? The show does things that arent in line with the EU. Continue the discussion (of why Lucas can mess EU in favor of TCW series) here. Does anyone know why why the new 2010 boba Fett had light blue arms (It seems like he didnt have that collered arms in the movies) I'm really perplexed why TLG gave the new Boba those light blue arms in the first place , considering he has had light grey arms from all the reference images that I saw. Fallenangel Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Well, maybe they wanted to show that his armor is from Jango fett? As if it wasn't obvious enough... besides, isn't it technically the other way around? That Lucas wrote a story about how Fett's armor and ship were actually inherited from his father? Then again, the Jango minifigure from 7153 has purple arms and legs, so maybe LEGO is under the impression that Mandalorian armor should be brightly colored and shiny. Quote

If it helps any, Boba has two more Manalorian armor sets in addition to the one he got from his "father". So you can always pretend it's another set. I wish TLG would employ a super nerd to point out errors that wouldn't effect the companys bottom line and only improve accuracy. Quote
prateek Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Or maybe Lego had a batch of light blue arms lying around so they just stuck them on Boba and figured it didn't look too bad. Quote

I wish TLG would employ a super nerd to point out errors that wouldn't effect the companys bottom line and only improve accuracy. It'd just be waste of money for LEGO. Kids aren't going to let the fact that Cody's visor is the wrong color stop them from buying a set. Quote

Fallenangel Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 And you're complaining the sets aren't accurate And you're complaining the sets aren't accurate There's a difference between a small inaccuracy like the color of a minifigure's arms and a large one like completely botching the proportions a ship so as to make the set look bad. Actually, in the movies they do have a slight blue tinge. Were they bluish? I don't think so... Quote
StoutFiles Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) Were they bluish? I don't think so... In Empire, Boba's jumpsuit is a very light blue. In Jedi and New Hope SE, faded white. The big difference though is the cape, he has a two tone brown cape in Empire but switches to one tone green for Jedi. Edited March 15, 2011 by StoutFiles Quote

If you actually think all these sets are badly designed, are there any sets you like? The Y-Wing, the AT-ST and the Republic Cruiser look fine als lego models. Especially the Radiant had to be modified - otherwise you would be left with an extremely small body and giant engines, which makes for a bad set. I agree about the Snowspeeder though - it's a shame TLG's still sticking to the X-Wing cockpit part for the T-47 even though it looks nothing like it should and this problem could be easily solved. Fallenangel Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) If you actually think all these sets are badly designed, are there any sets you like? Well, one would have to be 7778 Midi-scale Millennium Falcon - while not without its share of inaccuracies, it looks a lot better than its System predecessors. And it's quite sturdy and playable. The size makes it small enough to fit on your desk while not too big for kids to pick up, as well as a good candidate for use in dioramas. Another would have to be 7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid, for very much the same reasons. To name a third, 6207 A-wing. There are quite a few... and I find that when a set really does appeal to me I don't care so much that it's inaccurate. Now 4500, that was just ugly. I remember some AFOLs insisting that 7130 was a better set (and it is in certain aspects, accuracy notwithstanding). By the way, I think it was supposed to be a Y-wing canopy piece, because it bears no resemblance to the X-wing's whatsoever. I guess 7658, 7665, and 10174 weren't all that bad, but I would have to disagree with you on 10134 and 7657. The engine nacelles were obscenely elongated on the former, and I found the latter a disappointment, especially considering what LEGO had done with 10174. Richtofen Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) What shuttle would Palpy use if he was at a clone base? Would he use a regular attack shuttle that came with mace or one that came with his sith side? Edited March 18, 2011 by Richtofen Quote
Fallenangel Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 What shuttle would Palpy use if he was at a clone base? Would he use a regular attack shuttle that came with mace or one that came with his sith side? It would depend on when he's there. During the early Clone Wars (Chapters 1-21), probably a Consular. During the Neo-Clone Wars ('08 series), either the Nu, T-6, or Eta. During the Outer Rim Sieges (Chapters 22-25), the Theta. Quote

Navy Trooper Fenson Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 The Eta and T-6 are exclusively used by the Jedi Order. Palpatine would probably use the Nu-Shuttle of Mace or the escape craft from the second Zillo Beast episode. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/H-2_executive_shuttle Quote

When they decided to stick them on his helmet for the CW movie after deciding to make him a new character and not Alpha. (which I find relieving - CW would've destroyed even more canon with the addition of a previously seen ARC trooper who was supposedly on Kamino training new ARCs and commanders at the time of the '08 CW series) Quote
thegurumb Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Just a general question as i have just started collecting the sets, my question is what makes some sets cost a lot more than others, i'm talking about sets what are not available at the moment but have gone up in price yet some sets from the same year are not worth anything??? What makes people think some sets are worth more than others, a prime example is the 7153 Jango Ship set??? Quote
Siegfried Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Like most things it's all about supply and demand. If a set is expensive it often means that the set was rare or expensive in it's time, or it could just mean that no one sells them or that it's just really old. I don't think 7153 is overpriced. For one, it's the only set with Boy Boba and Jango Fett. Quote
