North Lego Star Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'm trying to build small clone and droid armies without getting two of each set, and I don't know which two of these to buy (NB: I would like a mix of battle and commando droids, I don't really like Gungans and would like a Jedi): - 2011 Battle of Naboo - 2012 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droid Battle Pack - 2013 BARC Speeder with Sidecar I would personally wait wait a bit longer until the Battle of Naboo goes on sale prices and buy at that point. If you want to build an army of clone troopers though, I would actually pick up 75000 Clone Trooper vs. Droideka Battle Pack instead of the 2012 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droid Battle Pack. At that point you could have some Attack of the Clones Clone Troopers and maybe down the line purchase the Homing Spider Droid set which comes with your generic clone trooper and jedi master Adi Gilla. I really don't know though it's up to you in the end. Quote
Dragonfire Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks! I was actually thinking of doing this before you posted it! Quote
nathenderry Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I was just wondering, I noticed that the Super Star Destroyer set has a really detailed top, using a variety of really small pieces, and I can't help but wondering, is each small piece and section of that part of the ship actually accurate, or did Lego just do what looks approximately right? I'm also wondering about this for any other models that have really detailed designs, especially ones that might be monotonous to design and Lego might just make look approximately right. This includes the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, and specifically all the greebling done along the side, and also the greebling done along the side of the Super Star Destroyer. Thanks. Quote
Cyberbricker Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I have the 75000 battlepack and was wondering why the sergeants visor is grey/black and the normal clone's visor is just black? Quote
Only Sinner Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I have the 75000 battlepack and was wondering why the sergeants visor is grey/black and the normal clone's visor is just black? That's a good question. It can be assumed the silver color is supposed to be a reflective sheen on the visor to keep out excessive glare. Why this is not standard issue for all outdoor personnel and troops I have no idea. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue. Quote
Dragonfire Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Oh, someone else said on this forum that the clone sergeant's visor was silver in the movie, and the trooper's wasn't. Lego were trying to be super-accurate there. Quote

Thank you for your answer, but of course I checked all possibility first before asking, and the sergeants visor in the movie, comics and all other stuff is just BLACK. So its strange... I got the answer myself. It its the jet sergeant troopers visor. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Clone_jet_trooper Still this does not explain why all the all new captain and commander figure have a sliver visor 2 , or that is was i heard at least. <<<<<<<<< This is not confirmed. Legoman123 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Anyone think we will get the Ewok village or is that just a rumor. Please answer ? Quote
Cyberbricker Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Anyone think we will get the Ewok village or is that just a rumor. Please answer ? Its just a rumor that started when an photo of a couple of years back showed a kashyyyk set that was misidentified as an Ewok village set. The Kashyyyk set its just a idea that lego had, but the set has since not been released and wont be for as far as i know. Edited February 11, 2013 by Cyberbricker Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well I know about the kashyyyk set but I read somewhere that a guy spoke to a guy who works at lego and said that two UCS sets would be coming out, the first being the X-wing and the second being the Ewok village. Quote

Indeed someone said that, but there was no prove and nothing has surfaced to assume this rumor is true. So its still a 50/50 chance. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Alright we'll thanks, I do hope it's true though :) Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) I have the 75000 battlepack and was wondering why the sergeants visor is grey/black and the normal clone's visor is just black? In AotC, there were clones that had a visor that I thought was silver due to a glare. When I saw the clones in this set, this immediately came to mind. Update: Just checked the movie and there are times where there is a glare to the clone visors but it's with all of them. Edited February 11, 2013 by Sir_Basil_Ashton Quote

Okee, thank you. Just watched AOTC yesterday and indeed sometimes the visor seems to glare, but at the same time the standard white clone's visor glare so I think they saw the Sergeant Jet trooper and assumed that all ranked clones have this. Dragonfire Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Yeah. I have a couple of questions about the new wave: Is it Adi Galia or Stass Allie in the Homing Spider Droid set? Do the new Geonosian Battle Droids have backpacks? And would you recommend getting the Anakin and Obi-Wan minifigs from the RGS or from Anakin's Jedi Interceptor (I don't want the sets themselves) Quote

The BD's do not seem to have any accessories except a blaster. I have the interceptor, and I love the Anikin. His Vader face is amazing. Quote
Cyberbricker Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) I have 3 of those interceptors. I changed one to Yellow and one to Red. <<<< Bricklink. I think I'm going to combine the mini-figures from the RGS and the Interceptor. Edited February 13, 2013 by Cyberbricker Quote
Dragonfire Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I'll probably get Obi from the Interceptor and Anakin from Palpatine's Arrest. I don't want an evil-looking Anakin. Quote

Empire911 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 This is not an easy quetion, but I think it will help a lot of people in the future. When I want to build something like a part from the movies or a ship or ... I will face one problem: you never have the right measurements of everything to make it, you just have to guess it. On Wookiepedia you can find some plans of tanks and fighters but not with measurements. Today I was looking for a blueprint of the Death Star elevator hall, but of course it is on where to be found. I don't ask for a Death Star blueprint or whatever, but I you know a site that has exact or nice plans of all this, please tell me. It will help MOC building a lot. Quote

Have you ever read books like 'incredible cross-sections' or 'the essential guide to vehicles and vessels' ? Albeit entirely incomplete, both books do give some detailed information on amongst other the death star, and are really good reads Quote
