jmagaletta Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Have / will Lego ever make any sets based on the Jedi Knight / Jedi Academy series of games ? They are some of my all time favourite games and they had some good characters and ships that would make great sets. Kyle Katarn, anyone ?! I agree that they are amazing games, but sorry to say if you want anything from those games that's not already in the OT you will have to make it yourself. Those games are just too old to be of any concern to TLG. Try a google search for anything Jedi Knight game related in lego. might find something with an LDD file. Quote

They have not made any sets of those to date, although there are some nice MOCs out there. The best hope we might possibly have for seeing a set is either EA revives the series as part of their SW game contract, or Filoni and company sneak the Moldy Crow and crew into the Star Wars Rebels series, the way they have with some other classic EU ships. CF Mitch Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Hello everyone, Please forgive my ignorance but I just have a quick question: When is the SW:TOR set Jedi Defender Class Cruiser (or what's it called?) Officially supposed to come out? Regards, Mitch Quote
Dragonfire Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I would like to MOD the 2013 AT-RT into a smaller, completely grey model. No blue at all. Any tips or advice? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I would like to MOD the 2013 AT-RT into a smaller, completely grey model. No blue at all. Any tips or advice? A good start would be the MOC Index; you can use Cmd/Ctrl+F to search a webpage for words ('AT-RT', in this case.). There're a bunch of AT-RT MOCs in there, including this excellent one by Lars and this superb version by DutchRebel. Just be prepared to need a lot of smaller bits, and with a vehicle like this and considering the size of TLG's model, you're probably going to have to start over with a custom build from the ground up instead of a mod. bowen179 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 So right now amazon is having a sale for both the Super Star Destroyer and Death Star at $360 each with free shipping. Would it be a good time to buy now? Or wait for a better sale? I have heard of some sales previously , Tru for example had buy one get one half off so essentially you got each set for $300. I've had my eyes on these sets for some time and imagine that they might retire soon, so was just wondering what you guys thought? Wait it out a little longer or jump the gun. Thanks! Quote
Phoib Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I'd jump the gun. The Death Star will most likely be retired by September (at least, that is my gut feeling). I'm unsure about the SSD. I think it will some more time. Quote
Darth Dino Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 (edited) Hi i agree and recommend as well to buy the DS now. I will do that soon too. With the new ewok village comming out there will be another mass-minifigs playset in the upper price range. For sure both sets are not the same but both join the same category: huge playsets with lots of figs. The SSD stands out here. There is no other 400€$£ set of a vehicle. I feel too that we will see the SSD longer than the DS. Dino Edited June 14, 2013 by Darth Dino Quote
67mountie67 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Quick question based on when past years rumors began to show up when will rumors for 2014 sets start to pop up? Edited June 15, 2013 by 67mountie67 Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Quick question based on when past years rumors began to show up when will rumors for 2014 sets start to pop up? Not to long from around this time, actually. TLG did something different and unveiled a set unusually early, revealing the Rancor Pit at SDCC in July. (And if I remember correctly, the set itself despite being part of the 2013 Winter Wave saw an early release in late December of 2012, too.) I think we had some speculation in the couple weeks before that, but nothing solid enough to even be considered possibilities for actual rumored lists. Whether TLG will do the same thing or not this year, we don't know. Quote
67mountie67 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Thanks for the info I thought it was around this time of year but wasnt to sure. Quote
BrickG Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Matters why you want it. Rumors I hear place the SSD as retiring very soon with the DS retiring after it because it sells well (end of the year or even maybe next). If you want it for play then sure. If you want it to sell then... maybe wait :P. Quote
rubberninja Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Heard a rep at the LEGO store the other day say it will be retiring next year so no rush on the death star.... not sure about SSD tho. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 They came out on the 1st of june so they will probably reach TRU by about the fifth probably, maybe less. Moving discussion of availability to "Star Wars Sets, Anyone?"...done. Quote
Alternator Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) Well if those rumors about the DS are true that makes me happy - I suppose what I'd be wondering is if either of those sets are still being produced by Lego or if they're at the phase of clearing the last production run of it? (to this I have no idea how long a run takes to sell for something like that). As for discounts, they're hard to predict and often governed by Murhpy's law when it is something you want. I too want the DS, but due to price it is not a guaranteed sale. My approach (which may help you decide), I have a price in mind, if it comes lower than that price I will buy - othewise it will simply have to be a set I do not purchase... I had a similar view with the SSD, as it happened it did come down to bang on my upper limit. Edited June 17, 2013 by Alternator Quote
Cwetqo Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I think both are going eol next year. Only sw to retire this year will be b-wing. Quote

Knightsword Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I think both are going eol next year. Only sw to retire this year will be b-wing. Well that and Jabba's Palace, possibly after the hullabaloo about it looking like certain Byzantine Church turned Mosque. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The DS will likely be replaced by the Ewok Village as the "Big Star Wars playset". And Jabba's Palace was originally going to be put out of production by then, but LEGO made it sound like "We'll stop making it in 2014 to appease you". Quote
hachiroku Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This month, i´m going to buy one of the new sets of the summer wave. My options are the Sailbarge or the Gunship. I don´t have any of their older version. Sailbarge: + I don´t have the Jabba´s Palace, so, I could get the new Jabba. +I have the Sarlacc and the Desert Skiff of the 2012. This set it´s great to make the entire scene. +Mythical escene and mythical vehicle +A lot, A LOT, of brown bricks. -The design it´s a little "meh" (the cannon...). -Plastic sunshades Gunship +Minifigs of Anakin and Obi Wan o the Ep.II +Really cool design +I like the Episode II (ok, it´s the worst movie, but I like it, specially Geonosis part) -Not so mythical or important vehicle. My conclusion is that the gunship is a coolest than the sailbarge, but the sailbarge, it´s from the OT, and Jabba, and the sarlacc scene.... Quote
