jmagaletta Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I saw the first on youtube split into different parts. Quote
Fenaughty Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I bought both episodes at JB Hifi for $14 Quote
jay123 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I wonder if flick fires will ever be replaced Quote
grymg Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 2014 has the spring loaded missles, right? Quote
TWP Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 2014 has the spring loaded missles, right? Yes, but there are still flick-fires in some sets, so they are not replaced. Quote
Faefrost Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Yes, but there are still flick-fires in some sets, so they are not replaced. I doubt they will be completely replaced. They are still oddly useful parts, and the new FF mounting pieces are very useful. So we will probably see them continued to be used in a variety of strange ways. (Shooting spiders, rocks, cow skulls, people skulls, grappling hooks, etc) mostly that just don't look right with spring shooters. Quote

(Shooting spiders, rocks, cow skulls, people skulls, grappling hooks, etc) mostly that just don't look right with spring shooters. That's what I said. I think TLG is now just experimenting with the new spring loaded, and if they are a succes, will continue to use them. I just hope they won't be used in other themes like the flick fires (*weathertop*) ;) Quote
Robert_88 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Weathertop wouldn't be the same without the flick fires :D Concerning minifigs: It would be great if they include the old blasters as well. The sping loaded guns look awfull :/ Quote
TWP Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Concerning minifigs: It would be great if they include the old blasters as well. The sping loaded guns look awfull :/ I agree. Luckly the normal not-Battle Packs have the old/realistic guns. By the way, those guns seem to be not spring loaded, just a technique that makes clever use of the friction of a stud, you could compare it to the cannons of the bionicles, I think. Quote

It seems that the stud is held by the body of the gun and it "shoots" when you hit the little knob on top of it. Quote
Artanis I Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 So is it an "illegal connection" then? Quote
TWP Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 It seems that the stud is held by the body of the gun and it "shoots" when you hit the little knob on top of it. I know. @ Artanis I: It is not an illegal connection, you could compare it to a stud on the side of an technic brick, that's legal. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 So is it an "illegal connection" then? No, the stud-in-Technic-hole isn't illegal by itself. Illegal situations occur if that stud is on the end of a 1x1 cone, because the cone's shape allows it to be further forced into the hole, compressing and damaging the brick, and if you're putting studs attached to bricks with studs on their sides into Technic bricks and then connecting the bricks with plates on top or on the bottom, because the Technic bricks have their holes centered a tiny bit higher than the studs on the bricks with studs on their sides are. BigJoe Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Could just be the currency exchange. But I know with Canadian prices and US prices, it isn't the just the exchange, the thing is just naturally less expensive. But for my actual question. Is the Ten Numb figure in the B-Wing supposed to be the little guy with Lando on the Falcon? or is that a different person? I think it's a totally different person but thats my oppinion Quote
TWP Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I think it's a totally different person but thats my oppinion You are right, but why are you replying on such an old post? Ten Numb is a sullustian and from the same species as the sullustian that flew as a copilot with Lando, he is called Nien Numb. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Interesting, so LEGO SW seems to be the leading theme of the company now, was it the very first licensed theme? Other than older, more exclusive, non-storyline stuff like Maersk, yes. I don't know what the numbers are right now, but historically and the last time I read about it, City/Town typically leads Star Wars as far as sets sold. (Which makes sense.) Quote

I don't know what the numbers are right now, but historically and the last time I read about it, City/Town typically leads Star Wars as far as sets sold. (Which makes sense.) It is one of the themes that has lasted more but it also shows how LEGO has chosen licensed themes over their original ones (castle/the lord of the rings, random action themes/DC and Marvel heroes, space/star wars, etc...). It certainly has given us some very interesting sets and bricks but I have always been a little nostalgic for old school themes, but that must be just me, dont get me wrong, I absolutely love SW LEGO and I am absolutely thankful for all releases so far. If I remember it correctly I seem to recall reading that City is by far their steadiest seller. Star Wars normally sits at number two, except in years that a movie is in the theaters, where it pops up to number one. So figure SW will be topping the sales charts in 2015. (Unless lego puts out some really awesome Avengers sets.) Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 One thing I do wonder, just looking at 75036 (utapau), the actual lego set item made from bricks is very miniscule, and now they are going back to the single faction BP of 4 troops... What has happened with regards to Hasbro having the rights to 'action figure licenses' or whatever it was that enabled Hasbro to stop Lucas Arts/TLG being able to do battle packs with a tiny lego set item and 4 minifigs? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Did we ever know for sure that it was Hasbro who stopped the production of the original style of BPs? It sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't remember ever reading a specific concrete statement on that. Was it just TLG trying out something new? Quote

I could be Legos maketing too. E.g. Lego would like parents to buy those packs for their kids, but parents often buy packs with "lots of bricks" not just figs. We are not the only target market, only the one that screams loudest :) Dino Quote
jindianajonz Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 So anyone have any good recommendations on how to de-clonewars-ify the clone wars exclusive characters? I'd love to find an official alternate head to swap in on Ki Adi Mundo to make him match the traditional lego figures, but browsing through bricklink doesn't turn up any obvious contenders in light flesh. What are some good heads that can be used on other clone wars characters, like Aayla Secura or Luminara (I know she has a figure in Wookiee Catamaran, but the light up lightsaber figures don't have removable heads) Quote
