commandergree123 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 The newest one is a lot closer to scale. The previous models have the turret above the cockpit but in reality it is set back a bit. Quote

donbarca Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 any of you guys have been able to enter the lego.com survey for feedback on the products with the new set numbers? i really want to give them my opinion on those blasted blasters:) maybe they just havent updated for the new set numbers because they are out only in some countries Quote
Merc4hire95 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 The antennas and visors are just extra's that are given to provide customization to what ever it is you want to put it on. If you do not want these extra's, I might suggest selling them in bulk, give/trade to a friend or simply dispose of them. Quote

korpen4444 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Hi everyone! I was looking at Lego's Star Wars page, and they have the Battle of Hoth "retiring soon". I want to know how long I might have to get one. I really need Snow troopers (i have none). I want Rieekan. I need Pilot Luke. I need more Hoth Rebels. What do you guys think? Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I don't know, Lego seems to be a loose canon with these type of things, they had the Captain America set on "Retiring soon" back in the summer, and now it's available for shipping, and I saw like 5 of them last time I went to ToysRUs (yesterday). And then, they had a whole bunch of sets on "retiring soon" that retired a week after being put on that title. Lego can do what they want with this, but I suggest getting it before the year ends. You could always hope it's still around in January, but that's a really big risk. I understand your pain, though, retired sets are usually the only one's I want! Why can't I like a set when it comes out? Also, 400th post! Quote

Yeah, but my Lego budget for this month has been reached, unfortunately . I don't want to buy it off bricklink. Quote
korpen4444 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I was wondering if newer versions of the Death Star set come with newer versions of the minifigures. Like updated Luke, Leia, Han, 3PO, DS Trooper, Storm Trooper, DV, Palpatine, etc. etc. Does it? Quote
Something_Awesome Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Toys r us had that set for 35.99 a week ago (limit 2). That is usually a solid sign that it is retiring (when retailers try to push items off shelves). Quote
Ritz Brick Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I was wondering if newer versions of the Death Star set come with newer versions of the minifigures. Like updated Luke, Leia, Han, 3PO, DS Trooper, Storm Trooper, DV, Palpatine, etc. etc. Does it? I bought the Death Star about a month back, Han had the black eyes with the white pupils, Leia had the old style regular face, Luke had this weird version of the original face which I'd never seen before, C3P0 was the older version, the DS Trooper, Stormtrooper, and Palpatine were the same. Bricklink says there is a "death star version" of Darth, but I couldn't tell the difference between that one and the one I had from the IS or his TIE. (by the way, there is a thread for general star wars questions that you could have posted both your topics in). Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 My family got 10188 back in 2009 and it the minifig heads had the solid black eyes. The newer ones have the white pupils. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 If I were in your shoes, I would purchase the set as soon as it's in your budget again. Hopefully it's still around. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 If I were in your shoes, I would purchase the set as soon as it's in your budget again. Hopefully it's still around. I agree, it looks quite a good set, but the kind that doesn't last long. Quote

commandergree123 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Has anybody been to a lego store in the U.S.? Because I figured that they might release them earlier as that's what the did earlier this year with the AOTC sets..... Quote
OBI-WAN37 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) Hi, I've noticed that the UCS 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer has an upper body where on the side there are two steps on which a theoretical creature (say about 5 inches in height) would have to climb before it could reach the bridge, however I noticed that on the studio models of episode v star destroyers, there were three steps (see about 4:34 on this video) ).Is this because they are later models of star destroyers and the original Star Destroyer on which 10030 is based has only two steps, or did TLG just mess up? (because you never really see how many "steps" there are on the original star destroyer) Thanks a lot to anyone who can answer this possibly confusing question, I really appreciate any help. :) Edited December 24, 2013 by OBI-WAN37 Quote
Flieger Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Are there any holographic minifigs or something that can be used as such? Quote

(because you never really see how many "steps" there are on the original star destroyer) Thanks a lot to anyone who can answer this possibly confusing question, I really appreciate any help. :) It could be because 10030 is based on the Star Destroyer seen in ANH, not ESB/ROTJ. 10030 is the Devastator, Darth Vader's ship that chased down the Tantive IV. It's different than the ISDs seen in the later movies. The dead give-away is the communications antenna between the shield radomes; the Devastator's is vertical and the later ships have it horizontal. My guess (and I'd have to watch the ANH scenes where you can see the Devastator) is that this is why you see 2 steps on the side of 10030 and 3 steps on ESB/ROTJ ships.
