arc Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I can't remember: Does the Summer wave come out on May the Fourth? they usually show up around july. Sometimes a bit earlier or later. But on may fourth there will likely be a promotional minifig, Or possibly an exclusive release. Quote
Mahtion Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I have two questions. First I got the X-wing starfighter yesterday and it was an inventive and fun build. I was really impressed with how Lego emulated the side plating, created the wing mechanism and used technic frame to form the nose shape. I felt like I was actually building the real X-wing in Incom engineering bay lol. Do any other ship sets other than UCS provide as fun and involved building techniques? My other question is for another set I picked up, General Grevious wheel bike. It's a detailed set but I find the wheel doesn't turn. I tried making it work for over an hour but for some reason it doesn't spin like illustrated on the box or in the instructions. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Quote
OBI-WAN37 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) I noticed that the 2013 UCS x-wing's engines are each one long rod, however both the studio models for red five x-wing (( http://www.hollywood...-auction-356571 (scroll down to the x-wing)) and the system scale 2012 sethave engines that look like a rod's been cut in half with one half shrunken in size and moved up so that the center doesn't match at all the center of the other cylinder. Is the studio model I linked the correct one which the Red five x-wing was based on? Did TLG make a mistake? Edited March 1, 2014 by OBI-WAN37 Quote
Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Well, on the "May the 4th", will only be LEGO SW sets being reduced or is there any chance that other sets will be on sale, too? Is there any other upcoming sale (Happy Easter or so) to be expected until then? Quote
Lego dad Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Has anyone heard a rumor that Jabbas palace is retiring soon? Someone posted it on another site but I haven't seen any other mention. Quote

Is there any other upcoming sale (Happy Easter or so) to be expected until then? I guess i ought to be a bit more precisely. Will TLG or S@H respectively have any sale or 'double VIP points' action until May the 4th? Has anyone heard a rumor that Jabbas palace is retiring soon? Someone posted it on another site but I haven't seen any other mention. I think that this is more than only a rumor. It already disappeared from S@H in Germany (was sold out at half the price) and i guess that the 'national stock' is shrinking at a tremendeous rate. I cannot speak for the rest of the world but as far as i know, TLG abandoned production of the set and it will disappear anytime soon. Regarding the set itself - i can highly recommend it. It's super iconic and has a nice collection of minifigures. Get it unless it goes at RRP (139,99 EUR in Germany, which was outrageous)! Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Honestly I'm surprised Jabba's Palace is still around. With the controversy this set caused, we may have seen the last LEGO rendition of Jabba's Palace. Quote

Yes, you are correct, the 'real' X-wings are supposed to have the off-centered aft portion of the engines. (another nice close-up view here) Quote
hjmediastudios Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Oddly, the latest minifig-scale X-wing seems to get this right, while the UCS one is apparently wrong. Quote
Faefrost Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I can't remember: Does the Summer wave come out on May the Fourth? The past two years they have released a new UCS set on May 4th. Summer sets normally come much later in the US. June or July. Last year we got the X Wing. The year before R2D2. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I can't remember: Does the Summer wave come out on May the Fourth? A UCS set usually comes out on May the 4th, in this year's case the Sandcrawler. Hope that helped! Quote

Is the studio model I linked the correct one which the Red five x-wing was based on? Did TLG make a mistake? The problem with the UCS is that the front part of the engines are far too small. The back part is probably in the right place but it ends up centered due to the incorrect size of the larger part. Quote
Moexy Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hello all, I have a somewhat unorthodox question I would like to ask, it isn't liked (or tolerated) much but I have no alternative for the moment. I ordered through BrickLink 4 new Phase 2 Clone Troopers from the Microfighters line set 75028 - Clone Turbo Tank. One of the four figures has a misprinted helmet (look at the images). Now, since I ordered it through BrickLink I don't have the instruction manual for the "purchase number" I need to ask for a replacement from Lego. The seller doesn't answer my messages when I ask for the purchase number (it isn't his fault, it is the fault of TLG since they are responsible for printing parts). As I am a minifigure collector that clone trooper is worthless to me now without a correct helmet Does someone want to help me and could provide me that number? It would be immensely appreciated! Quote
Chills Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Wow, that is funky looking. I've never seen a misprint like that. Quote
Lobot Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'd contact Customer Services, I'm sure they'd be interested to see it and would be happy to send you a replacement The part numbers are usually included in the instruction manual, which are available on the main Lego website. I would add a link, but I 'upgraded' to IE 11 a couple of days ago and I can't for some reason Quote
Kaitan Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I would say it IS the brick link sellers fault. Unless he advertised it as a misprinted helmet, he has sent you faulty goods and it's his job to sort it out. At best exchange it for a proper helmet, at the least a refund! Bad feedback on sellers is a wonderful motivator to get these things cleared up... Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 The seller knew he was sending a weirdo helmet, I mean who dosn't even look at what they are packing up to ship. Should have been double-checking everything, at least. Look for an image of the last instruction page online and just use the number. Quote

Bad feedback on sellers is a wonderful motivator to get these things cleared up... Exactly. It would only be a different story if you received it in a sealed set from the BL seller. (In which case, you would have the instruction booklet.) Take it up with them, and if they won't reply or cooperate, report/bad feedback is the right thing to do. That's what it is for. If you get stuck with the misprint and don't want it, then as already mentioned you can find the instructions on the Lego website. Quote

I'll try and work it out with the seller. I contacted customer service, but they ask for the purchase number :( Should I reply with what happened (bought it from Bricklink and then send the images)? Or just wait for the seller to send me the purchase number? Thank you all for the advice! :) Edited March 5, 2014 by Moexy Quote
darththeling Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Has anyone heard a rumor that Jabbas palace is retiring soon? Someone posted it on another site but I haven't seen any other mention. It could be a lingering part of this infamy the set was receiving at this time last year: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2302312/Muslim-victory-fight-anti-Islamic-lego-Denmark-axes-Jabbas-Palace-toy.html#comments Which was promptly denied by TLG: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/04/04/lego-jabbas-palace-muslim-turkish-austria-racism-star-wars_n_3012827.html But we all know these kits sit on shelves for around two years or so, and then are gone. So maybe it was all a misunderstanding, TLG saying that it would only be on the shelves for a short time. True "from a certain point of view." I bet it'll be on shelves well into this summer, if you're saving up or waiting for a sale. Quote
arc Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Hey guys, so I have the 2011 podracers, (7962) although I've had my eye on mos espa podrace (7171) for a while now. It has now popped up on bricklink for US $50. Do you think if I sold 7962 I could get enough to buy 7171? (Mine is complete with instructions, no box.) And if so, do you think it would be worth it? CF Mitch Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Hey guys, a question.... Does anybody else have the 75044 Droid Tri-Fighter, yet? I purchased it several days ago (mainly for the Palpatine fig, though) and I can't seem to build the triple arches properly. You're supposed connect hinge-pieces to each other and then bend those to create the arch-shape... but the hinges keep disconnecting because, when bent, they're pulled apart... Does anybody recognize this, and perhaps have a solution? Or maybe (probably) I'm just doing something wrong, and might someone be willing to carefully explain to me how I'm supposed to do it? Regards, Mitch Quote

Regards, Mitch I don't have that yet, but I do own the previous version. It might work just bending the arches, but by holding just the two connecting pieces with one hand each, not holding the end and bend one on the other end. Then connect those arches to the two ends.
