AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) My advice is to use Bricklink as a baseline for what the set is worth, then see if you can find a deal on eBay. If you're in no rush you might have to wait quite a while, but you can find good sets from collectors for a good price. You just have to be really patient, most stuff on eBay is way overpriced. If you want the set sooner just get one from BL. Prices sometimes fluctuate, but you might not find the drop to be significant enough to wait. Thanks On another note. What suitable piece(s) would be suitable to make a custom Senator Palpatine from 'The Phantom Menace'? Edited August 31, 2014 by AudiBobaR5-D2 Quote
TWP Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Also where can I find the original Droid Escape, 7106 from 2001 at a reasonable price nowadays that is complete. Many thanks Don't know if your question has already been answered, but I still have one lying around, that I think I can miss. PM me if you're interest, I could sell it to you. Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Hi. Does anyone know where I could find 7662 at all? Quote
kr-lik Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=7662 here for example. Quote
Brett-S Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hello friends, Just curious about a few things and thought this was the right place to ask them. So I found a mistake in one of the LDD files, comcon024 Luke's Landspeeder. One of the pieces was incorrect. I posted a reply but not sure it was in the right place where the correct person should see it. Also if you have MOC's and stuff for Star Wars, where does it go? It's a Microfighter so is there a section just for those or does it go in a Lego Ideas section since it is on that site? Sorry for the dumb questions but I've never used forums before and have no clue what I'm doing. Thanks for the help, Brett Quote
Chills Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 AFAIK if you have a MOC you just post a thread about it in the SW Lego section; and put (MOC) in the title. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Ok, AFOSWL....I need your advice: Slave I. I have 2 options: 8097 6209 I already have the minifigs of the 8097....while I don't have any of the 6209 minifigs. Which one should I get? Which model is better? (I read somewhere the 6209 is considered to be the best?) Right now, I'm leaning towards the 6209 (which is also a few bucks cheaper) because of the minifigs and because I have the feeling there isn't a lot of difference between the two sets. (don't know if this is correct?) PS: I'm definately not getting the new UCS set. Quote
arc Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I prefer 6209, just had better colors and overall design IMO. Although the newer is a bit more sleek. Quote

It is much more sleeker in shaping, smoother overall, it looks more similar to the source material, and Id get it at a heartbeat if I had the spare money to. It looks a great set. The earlier one, while perhaps good for its time, looks quite outdated. Quote
Bantha Fodder Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Question: I live on the ice planet Hoth, also known as Norway. It's not far from Denmark where the TLG have their HQ, but still I can't find ANY Norwegian shop or web-shop that sells the UCS Sandcrawler. Does anybody else in Europe have this problem? What is the best (and cheapest) way to get the wonderful Sandcrawler for me? (Yes, BTW, the ESB Hoth scenes were filmed at Finse, Norway) Quote

(PS: yes, I know ESB was filmed in Norway. A few years ago I interviewed Tom Egeland (a norwegian actor/writer) who was a Hoth trooper about that.) Quote
LegoFjotten Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Does anybody else in Europe have this problem? What is the best (and cheapest) way to get the wonderful Sandcrawler for me? Buy it from shop.lego.com. If the order is more than NOK 500,- you will get free shipping, and you don't have to worry about taxes since Lego pays those. Very few shops carry the exclusive sets. Maybe Outland in Oslo or Bergen have them, but it won't be cheaper than getting them directly from Lego. I would recommend to: 1) Buy something cheap at the Lego Shop now so you can sign up as a VIP 2) Wait until October to buy the Sandcrawler, you'll get 2x VIP points + most likely some promo item(s) (For some reason September has no promotions :/ ) Quote

EvilBlackSheep Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Hi, I already posted that question in another topic but Nom Carver nicely pointed me to this topic, so here I go again... I would have love to have Lego SW fans advice, is it worth it buying the latest version of the millenium falcon (7965) if I already have the old version of it from 2000 (7190)? And if yes (or no) why? I'm not just looking at the sake of having one of everything, but i'm seriously wondering how much better (or worse but i doubt it ) is the new one Quote
irispen Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 yes. 7190 is ugly, while 7965 is beautiful. I mean, seriously, if you have the money, go buy it Quote
CoffeeGuy Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Do you think that 75017 is a good set to invest in since I can get it for $20 u.s. dollars? Quote

I'm not just looking at the sake of having one of everything, but i'm seriously wondering how much better (or worse but i doubt it ) is the new one Get the new one, you won't be disappointed. The first one was ok for it's time, but it looks really sorry compared to what can be made with today's parts and engineering. I think the 7965 is very nice and accurate for what it is supposed to represent. Do you think that 75017 is a good set to invest in since I can get it for $20 u.s. dollars? Get it, The minifigs are worth that much by themselves. Actually the minifigs are the only thing I like about that set, but the pieces are pretty useful. Quote

Actually the minifigs are the only thing I like about that set, but the pieces are pretty useful. This. The minifigs are well worth it. The set itself is a tad disappointing, but then again, don't think Lego can do more with that scene for the price it's going for. Quote
Chills Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Do you think that 75017 is a good set to invest in since I can get it for $20 u.s. dollars? I think so. The set has great mini figures, and was a fun build. It captured the main moments in the hangar from the movie, and did so with a economical price. Quote
rexusprime Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 When will the Sandcrawler and Ewok a Village retire? I quess there are no exact dates so a year and a month-quess is enough Quote
GallardoLU Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 When will the Sandcrawler and Ewok a Village retire? I quess there are no exact dates so a year and a month-quess is enough I'd guess Ewoks have another year solid (probably 2) and the 5 month old sandcrawler will likely last till 2018, these are just guesses based on the recent trend of UCS lasting longer than the old 2 year lengths. but really we wont know for quite a long while. Gremer Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Based off of the Executor, they should last for 3 years each, so they'll retire in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Quote
crabclaw74 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Hi, Just joined this awesome site and happy i have found other Lego Star Wars enthusiasts like me.. I apologize if this is wrong section but would like some help if possible from the members. I have the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon 7965 set , and it is built and finished. As a after thought but definitely a good idea ( well maybe) I have decided to light the falcon. I have the LED lights , well most of them , but am not sure how to power it all.. I was thinking instead of having individual 9V or 12V supplies, is there a form of 240V transformer that steps down to 12V but has separate 12V supplies? I was looking at something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/OKSTATION-110V-output-Switching-Adapter/dp/B00JVI18GM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410607029&sr=8-1&keywords=110V+-+220V+input+To+DC+12V+20A+output+Switching+Power+Supply+Adapter Would this work?? Help greatly appreciated, I mean greatly appreciated.. Quote
