Does anybody know when the Death Star is due to be discontinued?

I've noticed S@H seem to be having a bit of a 'push' on promoting it (at least on the uk site) and this happened with the UCS Falcon just before it got deleted.

EDIT: Just realised, Christmas is fast approaching so of-course TLG will be pushing higher priced sets . Question still stands though, any ideas when it will be discontinued?

No one except TLC knows. Depends on a variety of factors. Since the only possible answer you might get here is wild guessing, you'd better be off in getting it if you want it. Once it is hard to get, trust me, it will be hard to get.

I think it will continue till christmas and then for its last run will go on sale at May the 4th be with you sale

The only UCS sets (which at least LEGO counts this as) I have seen on sale is the first Death Star that was 50% way back. Has there been other UCS on sale lately?

No, have not seen the MF on sale. Not on S@H, anyway. When, where and how much? Grievous, yes he was on sale at S@H, but not that much.

I don't see them throwing away the new DS half off anyway...

Sorry for confusing you. The half price thing was just an agreement on the "buy it now, if you can, don't wait for it to go on sale". Not everything in a post must be about the quote cited in the post.

When, where and how much was the MF on sale for? That would perhaps be an indicator for Praiter Yed who asked about the Death Star.

I can't remember the exact saving but some one said there was a glitch and they got it for $100-200

I think it was something like 20-30% off?

Typically there are two main waves per year for SW sets: one released in January and one around August. TLG has the habit of throwing in a stray set or two throughout the year, though. Like the Dropship and AT-OT, which was released in March.

We already have seen leaked prelim photos of the January wave. We should be getting official photos very soon. Not sure when the August wave usually gets leaked out, but I want to say April is the right timeframe. A set list without pics might be significantly earlier.

Actually! I had no idea. I would've bought 10 of them and kept them super duper MISB in a climate controlled room and sold them for $1000 a pop!

seriously, if I could get my hands on that set for that price, I'd buy one to display, a couple to part out and give me enough grey for the next few years, and buy as many more as I could to sell.

Well this guy did MOD the UCS MF to make an outstanding interior it took him 9 months but with all the pictures off it you should be able to order the parts off bricklink and build it . I'll see if I can find the pics.

Also about the price I won one on ebay.co.uk for 75 pounds but that was just luck...
