legolandia Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Does anyone know when the double VIP points offer comes on please? I haven't missed it already have I? Quote
Tariq j Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I think its the 5th, so next Monday we'll get them. Quote
duboismerci Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I think its the 5th, so next Monday we'll get them. For everyone or only the one who only the one who received the email? Quote
Tariq j Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 As far as I know, the UK gets them on the 5th, other countries I don't know. VIP members should usually get emails for upcoming events like this. Quote
Lobot Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The double VIP points promotion is only available to members who purchased sets during the 'Brick Friday' weekend(s). I received an email which said: 'We'd like to express our thanks by offering you an exclusive DOUBLE VIP Points day on Monday, 5th January at your LEGO Store, or online at LEGO.com/shop! Your double points will be credited automatically when you make purchases on this day' I can't wait to get the UCS Slave 1, I just hope they're still in stock! Quote
DarthR2-D2 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Nobody laugh too hard at me for this. What are VIP points? Are they like reward points for any other store (like Dick's or Walgreen's)? Quote
Gremer Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Nobody laugh too hard at me for this. What are VIP points? Are they like reward points for any other store (like Dick's or Walgreen's)? Every 100 VIP points, you can get $5 off of an order. Every LEGO product has an amount of VIP points equivalent to the price, so a set that costs $24.99 will get you 24 VIP points. Quote
Rabbidpanda48 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) So i recently decided to bricklink/use my current parts to build the UCS imperial star destroyer, but i discovered some of the parts are VERY pricey, specifically the bulbs on on top. Part 30208 isn't that expensive, but Part 30342 goes for $50 and up. I don't want to spend that kind of money on 2 parts, so do you guys know any alternatives to this, such as different parts or an alternative build to achieve this? I would love to see what you guys can come up with! Edited January 4, 2015 by Rabbidpanda48 Quote
Lobot Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Hi Rabbidpanda48 and welcome to Eurobricks! I tried to Bricklink a 10030 from scratch a couple of years ago, but gave up after collecting about 50% of the parts as it was going to cost more than a used set! The magnets, holders, and large wheels were the most expensive then, but I'm amazing how much the 30342 are now (I think I paid £2 each for mine...). Have you considered painting them, the Dark Grey ones are very cheap and you could always replace them in the future. For future reference there's a general SW Q & A thread pinned to the top of the forum, I'll merge this with it in a bit Quote
neoconagenda Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Your best bet is to stake out auction sites for a partial set that has those parts in it. I have been watching this specific listing for over a year checking it almost daily and they do come up from time to time. The problem when you find one is that you will still pay $300 plus for an incomplete set. Or wait until someone offers it on buy it now for a reasonable price but that almost never happens! Quote
Artanis I Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 VIP members should usually get emails for upcoming events like this. I must be in their bad books, I usually get VIP emails after the event has already occurred/started. Last week I got one telling me there was a sale, it came 1 or 2 days after I'd noticed a lot of sets were sold out & discounted. Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Is the Original Imperial Shuttle (7166) worth it? Especially with a new version being released later on this year. Quote
Chills Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 So did S@H run out of the mini AT-DP? I went to order some sets and it wasn't added to my bag. Quote

Another user here has reported of exactly the same problem today. It seems like S@H has some issues today. You should propably call customer service. Quote
Tariq j Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 AudiBobaR5-D2: Personally, I would wait till we see some pictures of the new sets, its been a long time since Lego released a system scale Imperial Shuttle, so they're alot of new features they can include. So overall, no wait till we get some pictures and/or reviews. Quote

Fuppylodders Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 What with the head and arms from this set: http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Spider-Trike-vs-Electro-76014?fromListing=listing And the right leg from this set: http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Ice-Bear-Tribe-Pack-70230?fromListing=listing Surely a left leg is not far from being made... And then that gives us the closest possibility of a force ghost? Sure, TLG are clearly sticking to the 'trans attached to a non trans' ideal due to the potential brittleness, but maybe a light blue coloured leg-waist attachment and a light blue body could be used? Or even a trans body, solid light blue arms and trans blue hands? I'm just noticing a lot of body parts becoming trans recently and think there may be potential with TLG finally treading into the depths of trans body parts... Thoughts? Quote

Must be the death star sized set everyone is talking about. Seriously, yes I read somewhere that S@H is completely out of all promo polys for this month. You'll have to try the stores. Archer Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 What confounds me to oblivion is that with all the detailed rereleases of minifigures we have seen from 2011ish and on, how is it that Lego has never released a new Cloud City Lando? They need no new pieces and I think most people see that as THE version of Lando that best represents the character. That fig is scalped to hell and outdated, and to me, it seems like the most blatantly missing from the last decades offering. There are a few other figs that are due for a makeover (Wedge,Biggs, and Tarkin for sure), but at least those figs aren't unreasonably expensive. Lego has clearly worked to fill in the gaps of missing and outdated characters and I believe that while they do clearly save certain figs for big exclusive sets, they also have given us many nice polybag characters in the past few years that would otherwise not show up in sets clearly someone at lego is doing their research on obscure characters to produce, meaning they give some thought to what they have and haven't made or revamped. I am not trying to draw a conclusion of "Cloud city is coming out next year!" or anything but, do you think Lego is intentionally holding back a rerelease of Lando just in case they decide to make a cloud city inspired set? Can there be any other reason they have decided not to make him? Quote
Robianco Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Probably not. I'd say that was the exact reason. Star Wars is an evergreen theme... the greenest of evergreens. It's become more and more glaringly obvious how much of a hole Cloud City is in everyone's OT collection following the list of Jabba releases to cover Tatoonine in ROTJ as well as the UCS Ewok Village that can sit alongside 8038 (which still actually holds up pretty well as a set). We've had X-Wings, Y-Wings, B-Wings and A-Wings to cover both attacks on the Death Star, numerous Hoth sets including various incarnations of Echo base (which we may be getting a large version of too) as well as AT-ATs, Snowspeeders and even a Wampa cave. We've had a cantina and Sandcrawler and T-16 SKyhopper to cover most of Tatooine on ANH along with a Falcon set that still looks good and the 10188 Death Star which is still alive and kicking. A Shuttle Tydirium is on the way (possibly with updated Endor camo heroes) and a final duel set which could give us a new Vader helmet with Sebastian Shaw alternate face(?). That just kind of leaves Cloud City and Dagobah as the glaring omissions from the fleshie revolution. Rebels and Episodes VII-IX will take up a lot of the waves for the next few years but who knows when they'll give us those elusive sets. I'm also thinking that 4-Lom and Zuckuss might actually make it into the CC set (or sets). Edited January 6, 2015 by Robianco Quote
