It depends what you want to build. I try to build most things in minifig scale (roughly 3 studs = 1 metre), but for enormous things like an ISD I'd just build it in any size that looks nice.

I should also add that building in minifigure scale comes with the advantage of having official lego pieces made specifically for whatever you're making at your disposal.

What scale are most Star Wars sets?

Most are system scale, sometimes known as minifig scale. UCS sets are much larger, and certain ones (like the Slave 1) are in close to perfect minifig scale.

Some people list sets that have never been opened at some insane prices (compared to original prices) 8017 used bounces around between $30 - $60 USD depending on figures included and overall condition of the set. so, it has maintained value well but its not unusually priced for a Star Wars set.

so is it just worth $30-$60?

and this is the minifigure that it comes with

HiLegoForumUser2121, and welcome to Eurobricks!

There's a general Star Wars Q & A thread pinned at the top of the forum; I'll merge this with it in a bit :classic:

It's a nice little set, but Darth is definitely the main highlight!

Thanks, Atlas and GuyDudeMan27!

So, if Minifig Scale is 1:40 and an AT-AT is 22 m tall, a Minifig Scale AT-AT would be 55 cm tall, right?

Several different AT-AT minifig scale mods have been made in Lego, cavegod's or Rocky's comes to mind. You can have a look by just googling 'cavegod at at', to get an idea.

Mine is literally about 55-60cm tall (Ive just decided I need to reduce the height of the central section of the body by either 2 plates or 1 brick height) and was designed to be minifig scale as close as possible. That height will work well providing the proportions of its entirety are matched ^_^

Does anyone know how I can find the right parts needed (or at least near accurate) for a Senator Palpatine from TPM?

Thanks in advanced

I'd look through a minifig list on BrickLink, and then add them to your wanted list.

Hi Krusi86, and welcome to Eurobricks!

For future reference, there's a general SW Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit :classic:

Hello

I'm thinking about bricklinking the USC ISD. According to rebrickable I already have 67% of the used parts.

Can anybody give me some tips about bricklinking this set?

Thanks

A couple fo things to consider.

1) Color, is it Light Gray or Light Bluish Gray. Light Gray parts are more expensive.

2) Parts, If you have the wheels used for the engines, the magnets and magnet holders, the wash tubs for the engines and the parts for the globes on the top of the ship. It's not a hard or expensive set to bricklink. But, if your missing any of these, it going to get expensive.

The wheels used for the engines start at $30 and go up from there. You need 3 of these.

The magnets are cheap, starting at .35¢, but, you need 28 of these. The holder for the magnets get pricey, there are 2 different types used in the ISD. One is cheap and easy to find, starting at about .05¢, but the other is hard to get and starts at about $8 each and you need 14 of them.

The wash tubs used for the engines start at about $10 each.

The globes on the top of the ship are 2 pieces. The bottom starts at about $48 and the top is about a $1.

If you have these, go for it. If you missing some, see what you have versues what you need. If you missing all or most of these. I wouldn't suggest it. But, that's me.

Good luck, Jamie

I have a question that I would really like answered if possible. Does anyone know what is going on with the availability of the new Lego sets in australia? Only the AAT, gunship and the skyhopper are on sale anywhere. I'm worried . . .

I have found that the Light gray parts are cheaper than the light bluish gray parts :/

I don't have enough magnets so i'll have to buy some more of those but I can use a different color for the holders because you can't see these so I won't mind.

From the expensive parts I have none :( But I could buy them in a different color and paint these to get a nice result. I have found all these parts to be really cheap in a different color. Any tips on colouring these?

Thanks for the help :)

Wow, those are expensive! Were those pricey parts used in any other sets (same color) besides 10030?

Good luck, Lukasguy. This is one of my very favorite sets. It is an amazing display piece.

Thanks, I have found these parts in a lot of colors and I won't mind painting them to the color I need.

I have seen your room and I must say it's epic. Now I'm busy getting all the parts that I have laying around and I'll order the ones I need when I'm done.

Any tips for getting the cheapest prices on bricklink?

Thanks for your interest.
