Tjahzi Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Just noticed the AT-TE and the Republic Gunship are already retired. Luckily, I already got them, but I was considering getting a second set. Especially the Gunship looks fantastic imo. Would it be worth it? And I recently started watching the Clone Wars series (2008-.. ; will get the original animated series as well), and I'm really surprised how good the show is. Any sets that are absolutely must haves? Never paid any attention to them because I wanted to focus on the movies, but I think I'll change my mind. Quote
Gremer Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 The 2013 Gunship is an absolutely fantastic set. So yes, it is worth it Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter, while not a must have, is a very nice set. The 2010 Turbo Tank is a must-have. Quote
Flieger Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Here's my custom Bo-Rifle: Thanks for the idea! Quote
Kelso Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) Could there ever come a rebel alliance gunship (LAAT) like the one in star wars battlefront 2 space battles? Edited February 22, 2015 by Kelso Quote

ARC-170, AAT (the blue one), vulture droid, V-wing, AT-RT, republic attackship, TX-130, Palpatine's arrest, those are the best I could remember. Quote
Artizan Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Palpatine's arrest is a movie based set, from Ep3. Quote
Flieger Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 The V-Wing, having not appeared in TCW, is also a movie set (or an EU/Legends set, if the Imperial version is concerned). Regarding TCW-themed sets I recommend: - 75004 Z-95 Headhunter. The ship itself is nice, but the minifigs are really good with two exclusives (Pong Krell, alternate Phase II clone pilot - really cool!) and one almost exclusive (501st Phase II trooper, the only other set with him is the AT-RT) - 75002 AT-RT: besides expanding the 501st, it includes an exclusive Commando Droid Captain. - 75012 BARC Speeder: Cpt. Rex in Phase II armour is a must have if you want to create the 501st. - 75022 Mandalorian Speeder: Darth Maul with mechanical legs and two of his Mandalorian commandos with the Black Hand, extremely cool. The car is also nicer than I expected. - 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship: a great ship with some nice minifigs, most important the exclusive Shock Troopers. (And if you replace some of the colours with greys, you get a nice Imperial Patrol from a recent SWR episode) Quote
Nom Carver Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 The sets I mentioned are from the clone wars era, but not from the show. And I recently started watching the Clone Wars series (2008-.. ; will get the original animated series as well) Yes, keep the animated series for the last and you may notice how good it was compared to the CGI one, it took three seasons for that one to get interesting while the animated was far cooler in the first 5 min. I got a question too, are the figs included on the lego books made with the chinese plastic (the ones that have no paint on the "head stud" on the torso)? Quote
atlas Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 The V-Wing, having not appeared in TCW, is also a movie set (or an EU/Legends set, if the Imperial version is concerned) V-wings appear on screen in Revenge of the Sith in the scene with the repainted venator fleet observing the construction of the death star. 7915 isn't an EU set I don't think, whereas 75079 and 7672 are, for example. Flieger Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Wasn't the V-Wing in RotS all white, and the Lego one black? Anyway you are right, there are Imperial V-Wings, so a Lego representation is probably not EU. Quote
Artanis I Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I have 2 V-Wings, one is imperial in black, the other is republic in white & red I think. I got a question too, are the figs included on the lego books made with the chinese plastic (the ones that have no paint on the "head stud" on the torso)? Palpatine from the Dark Side book has neck printing. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 What's the name of the time period between ROTS and ANH? Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) What's the name of the time period between ROTS and ANH? I don't think it really has a name. The empire is taking over, and the rebellion is just starting up. The best thing may to just call it 'Rebels' since the show is in this era. Edited February 25, 2015 by GuyDudeMan27 Quote
atlas Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I think the term used is this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rise_of_the_Empire_era Quote
duboismerci Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) What's the name of the time period between ROTS and ANH? I think it is called the dark times "For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times. Before the Empire." ―Obi-Wan Kenobi edit: its from ANH when obi Wan talks to Luke for the first time on Tatooine Edited February 25, 2015 by duboismerci Quote
Venkefedo Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 "The Dark Times" or "Rise of the Empire" are both appropriate terms for the era between ROTS & ANH. Quote

Kelso Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Hey folks, Would it be worth it to buy 75012 Barc Speeder set for 37 euro? (includes 6 euro shipping) I really like Rex and the speeder. But barely any stores sell this set. Edited February 27, 2015 by Kelso Quote

But barely any stores sell this set. Well, at least in Germany you do not get it much cheaper. A bit cheaper, but not much. I'd say you should get it. Since TCW has ended, you might have to wait for years until Lego releases a new Rex, if they ever release a new Rex. And the price of 75012 will only increase the longer you wait. While 37 Euro is not exactly a good price, it is worth it if you like Rex a lot. Quote

joebiwankenobi Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Is the UCS X-Wing on the verge of being discontinued? I suspected it would be going out this year but not within the first couple months. I'm just curious if I should pick it up ASAP or if I'll have more time to get it? I was at least expecting it to be around until the UCS TIE fighter came out. Does anyone know for sure? Quote

legolandia Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Hope you guys can help with a couple of questions I have: Is the UCS Sandcrawler set likely to be available to buy until the end of this year? Does anyone know when the next Lego sale will be? And last does anyone know of any other webshop in the UK that stocks the Sandcrawler (apart from Smyths)? Quote
