wesker Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 How can I make a Vinis Valorum TCW-minifig? Is it even possible without custom parts? The torso is what worries me and I hope there is an Lego torso which at least resembles this tunic. http://img4.wikia.no...he_Lost_One.png For the torso I suggest using the Republic Pilot/Captain one from set 7665: For the face I'd go with Elrond's from the LOTR and Hobbit line: And finally for the hair I'd use the current Palpatine/Count Dooku piece: Quote
Cjd223 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Ok so I am a bit confused as to which UCS Set I should get along with the UCS Tie Fighter that Lego just released. I have narrowed my choices down and here are my options: 10174 AT-ST for about $90 via multiple bricklink orders without shipping 10186 General Grievous brand new sealed for $200 via Ebay 10215 Obi Wan's Starfighter brand new sealed $180 via Ebay Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I love the look of General Grievous 10186 and if I had that as one of my choices, I'd go straight for that. AT-ST looks a bit dated, and Obi-Wans Star fighter just seems a bit bland, in my opinion. Quote
BalrogJ Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I have the UCS AT-ST and I love it. I was late to the party but managed to get it for 60€ on Bricklink a few years ago and I am really happy I made that call. It's not as impressive as the Executor or some more recent UCS sure, but it's really tall and quite massive and it really gives that vibe like it came straight from the movie in my opinion. Quote
Tariq j Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hello all, I'm sort of stuck between two sets, the tydranium shuttle and the Assault Carrier from Rebels. I've good and bad things about both but I am stuck as to which one to get. Quote
Venkefedo Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I'd go for the Tyderium. The Assault Carrier looks like a fun build with some neat pieces (the cockpits of the mini-TIEs look great!), but the figure selection is disappointing. More Imp officers and pilots are nice and all, but they're both just generic troops. Kallus lacks his helmet, Sabine should've had hers in the Ezra's Speeder Bike set... While it's a nice alternate way to get Kallus, the real selling points of the figures are just Sabine's helmet and the Imperial astromech, with its new body print and 1st clear head. I used to be more excited about the assortment, but it's really a bit lackluster for such a pricey set. Tydirium, OTOH, has the second appearance of New Chewie, but Han, Leia, and the Rebels are new, Han finally with a (printed) coat, Leia finally with removable poncho. I like the look of the build a lot, too, tho the interior seems a bit cramped. Quote
Tariq j Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) Thanks for your answer Venkefedo, I agree that the minifigure range is much stronger in the shuttle, I guess Tydranium is the one to get! ! Edited May 31, 2015 by Tariq j Quote
miles teg Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Ok, I'm trying to decide between the Tyderium and the death star final duel set. I was set on getting the shuttle, but then I made the mistake of picking up the box for the final duel set in my local toy store and felt the weight, and the minifigs look so much nicer. Now I'm not sure which one I want more first! I can't find any decent reviews of either set so any pros and cons from you guys? Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Tydirium, pro: You can swoosh it into any room, offload the crew and take them on any journey you want to any room to any environment, have galactic space battles through your hallway killing the MumStar of doom, or the Deadly DDad ray cannon. Final duel set, con: you can play a few duels before the duels gets tiring in the same scenery :P Quote
miles teg Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Ahh, you assume much young Jedi *evil Emperor voice*... in my house, I AM the deadly Dad ray. Lol. Seriously though, the Tyderium wouldn't be swooshed much. She'd be built and displayed with my other OT sets (yes I'm from that generation). My Son does all the swooshing with his sets. I was only interested in the ships and not the minifigs for a long time but I'm slowly collecting more OT characters and the Emperor and Vader figs in the final duel look very nice Quote

Depends if you are keen on getting endor han/leia, or want that new darth vader fig with a new palp and from what i know, new luke. Can you not get both, the dual set for you, and the shuttle for your son as a surprise or something, and nab the figs from it, replace with a couple stormies and saying he should be thankful having the new shuttle :P That way, you win, your son wins... And your partner doesnt really have to know, unless shes into lego too xD Quote
samurai-turtle Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I spotted the "Final Duel", "Assault Carrier" from Rebels, and the "Naboo Starfighter" at Wal-Mart. It also have a spot for the "Flash Speeder" but no speeder. Quote
Flieger Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 This may be the wrong thread, but I only noticed now that the 2014 Vulture Droid is already retired! It has only been a year. How could that happen? Was it selling so badly? Quote

Was it selling so badly? The V-Wing and Microfighter ISD are also retired. I luckily found the VD and ISD at Books A Million, and already had the V-Wing. I'm not sure why they're retired so early, though. Quote
LegoKol Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Why after 16 years is Lego still giving Han the wrong hair? He should have been given this part once it became available. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62810 Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Is 75094 worth in getting? With or without minifigs? Quote
tibland2 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Looking for recommendations on parts for a system scale Millenium Falcon TFA radar dish for my 7965 to hold me over until the TFA Falcon is officially released... I've tried several different builds but they've all looked way too big for the ship or just were not detailed enough. Edited June 3, 2015 by tibland2 Quote

Try this part: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?P=2440p69 Size wise I think it's good. The same part from the UCS Blockade Runner looks better but it's also $150 on bricklink. It's probably possible to rig up a hinged brick built version with various clip & bar plates, then maybe tile it all over if you want it smooth. That way you'd be able to adjust the size pretty easily. Quote

I'd take a picture but unfortunately I don't have the ship or the radar with me at the apartment. I am happy a new falcon is coming out though... Hopefully it'll be a bit better than the last one. Tariq j Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 AudiBoba: Yes! I just picked mine up yesterday, and I think its an excellent set. The minifigures are brilliant choices and its finally great to see a Trench coat Han and Poncho Leia. Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Tariq: Thanks for the reply. Been deciding lately, and wasn't 100% sure as such (not sure why tbh), but anyway Thanks again. Also on another note, is it worth it to replace the older style Scout Troopers for the 2013 version? Edited June 4, 2015 by AudiBobaR5-D2 Quote
Venkefedo Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I like the 2013 versions a lot more, but of course they can be pricey. A low-cost option is to give your old ones black arms, and maybe black legs with white hips. The other drawback, besides price, is that the helmet is incredibly outdated...it's the same one they've used since getting the license! The ROTS Kashyyyk Troopers got a nice new sculpt, but it isn't quite right for OT Scout Troopers... hopefully a new sculpt is on the horizon amidst all the hoopla over the new films, and hopefully it'll be available in whatever Endor BP they tackle next (whenever that is) for easier updating/army-building. Maybe the Scouts will appear in Rebels eventually, giving another avenue for getting new versions of the minifig! Quote
