The V-Wing and Microfighter ISD are also retired. I luckily found the VD and ISD at Books A Million, and already had the V-Wing. I'm not sure why they're retired so early, though.

Interesting... I can imagine they retired the Micro-ISD because of the outdated cap (at least I hope so  ), and the V-Wing probably did not sell well. It is a blink-and-you-miss vehicle, from only one movie, without notable minifigs.

I was not aware that quick retirements are so common.

Here I did a quick photoshop:

Looks good!

Ah... that depends a lot on what you like. Do you like the OT better than the PT? Are you a Rebels-fan? Did you play TOR? Etc.

Just going by the set, the MTT is amazing: it is a very clever build that looks good as a model, capturing the looks and having an imposing presence, and it has well designed play features (and a lot of them). You also get a lot of droids and nice minifigs. But if you don't care for the PT at all, you probably like other sets better.

The Jedi-Defender class cruiser is retired already, so its price will go up and buying it sooner than later will save you money. I am not too impressed by the play features, but the model is ok, and the minifigs are probably the greatest draw. If you like TOR, I think it is a good buy. And you could regret not having bought it now in a few months when the price goes up. (It happened to me actually...).

The Ghost + phantom are not really my cup of tea, although I like the show a lot. They both disappoint in play-features and model, but the minifigs are very good. Especially since we will not see any new Rebels sets soon, I would give it a chance if you like the show. If not I recommend to pass it.

I would not buy the ISD. It is an iconic vehicle and the model looks ok from the outside. But if you open it up, it actually offers a very small space, which is cluttered with ugly technic elements and just looks horrible. Its only big plus (besides being iconic) is the minifig selection. All of them are great and either exclusive or very hard to get otherwise. However there is one exception: you only get the outdated Vader. I know many people like this set, but it really disappointed me.

I cannot comment on the Tyrdirium, but you may consider the Final Duel set. It is a bit in the spirit of the Palpatine's Arrest set and offers great minifigs.

Here's a question. Has there ever been a TESB/RoTJ version of Vader? Like with the blue light on the chest panel instead of the green version of ROTS/ANH version? No doubt this has been discussed before on here or no doubt that there HAS been a version made in the past by Lego, but just thought of making a question about it on here. Just curious.

They did, the first Vaders had the blue and red light. Hard to discern whether they are Empire or ROTJ Vaders.

Just wondered myself, just wasn't that sure if they did or not, especially since seeing a recent pic of Vader from 75055, and thought about it. Thanks anyway ISDAvenger

Technically all the Vader torsos have been ESB/ROTJ, since the printing on the earlier ones seem to have the upper chest armor overlapping the surcoat a bit, when ANH Vader's surcoat overlaps the upper armor.

But it's tough to say for sure whether it was just a print limitation on the early Vader minifigs or whether it was really intended to represent ANH Vader's unique surcoat variation.

TLG's prices in general have been high as of late. You also have to take into account the price per piece ratio. Usually it's around .10, so it should be around 27 dollars. That could be rounded up to 30. These are USD prices, mind you, and where you live may also account for a more expensive product.

Sometimes Lego sets are objectively overpriced even within the Lego high pricing policy. (The Droid Tri-Fighter would be another example, costing 39,99€ vs the 29,99€ AAT with almost exactly the same piece count, the same number of minifigs and battle droids).

It is hard to explain.

However resellers often adjust the price soon enough. The Snowspeeder is usually sold for 30-35€ in my country, as opposed to the Lego Store's 39,99€; the Droid Tri-Fighter for 30€ etc.

Thnx. I agree with you on the ISD, doesnt look very good from the inside. I'm probably getting the Tydirium, great design and nice minifigure collection. :classic:

Would you guys recommend the new naboo starfighter? I am getting it to replace my old one from 2011.

I don't buy the 75092 naboo Starfighter yet,but this set have more bricks compared to the 2011 naboo starfighter set,and this make it own more playability, althrough the price may be a little higher. Edited by ArmstrongYong

I have the 2011 one, and I'm not planning on grabbing the new one. The new pilot looks great, but I'm not crazy about the rest of the figure offerings...and while the model has changed, it's still 'close enough' that I'm not really interested. With that price point in mind, I'd rather go for the Coruscant Police Gunship (even tho it's got TCW-faces for Anakin & Ahsoka), or maybe the B-wing (since I only have the version from 2000).

I cannot compare it to older ones, but I like the set overall (despite the obvious flaw: no chrome front...). However I think it would have been better to put it in a cheaper set with less extras (stairway, fuel station etc.). Also, in my country it is extremely expensive, even by Lego standards (65€!). I fully expect that this price will be dropped by the retailers.

Both are good suggestions. I don't have the B-Wing, but it looked nice when I saw its build in the Lego-store and recently prices have been dropping on that one.

The Police Gunship will probably surprise you positively. It has an impressive presence and the shock troopers are very, very cool. I suspect that it will be retired soon, so that is another reason. (Lastly, its suggested retail price in my country is lower than that of the Naboo Fighter, although it is has more parts and more minifigs).

Would anyone recommend collecting the "Battle Packs"? I picked up the Shadow Troopers' one, (along with the Death Star Final Battle, hehe) and I'm moderately impressed.

I bought it and thinks it looks VERY cool especially with the little stand that it comes with. I also do not have the 2011 one but by looking at pics they look pretty similar.

Sure! But just the ones you like, no need to be a completist if you think any given pack is weak. Get multiples of your faves, too, that's what they're there for: army-building!

There's a comparrison between the two at the end of this video if you're interested:

While the two sets do look similar I think the added bulk on the new one makes it look a lot nicer. Just a shame about the grey wedges showing up on either side of the cockpit. Would look much better if those wedge plates were in yellow.

While I really like the ship in the film, I don't feel that the new one is improved enough over the old to justify spending the price on it. The old one is a good enough rendition of it, and still doesn't look dated because of the 'build'.

which is the most accurate hair piece for Senator Palpatine? The white one seen in the Droid shuttle or the blonde one that comes with the Episode III set, I mean depending on the light his hair color does change a bit IMHO.

That is an excellent question! I am switching the hairpieces all time because I cannot decide.

For a TPM themed Palpatine however I would prefer the light blonde. I also feel it captures his hairstyle better.
