Lobot Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Hi jameseilers, and welcome to Eurobricks! For future reference there's a general SW Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit Sorry, I can't help you with your questions but hopefully one of the other members will be able to. Cheers, Robin Quote
SadnapS Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Looking for help in making a stand for this bad boy. It would be nice to have it angled, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Thanks Eurobricks Quote
sigpro Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Hi! I started a topic in 2009, a kind of SW comic - serial, but I left it uncompleted. Can I resume it from the last chapter, or do you suggest starting it from scratch as if it had never been posted? The post should be edited as the pictures can´t be seen... this is the topic. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16244&hl=%2Badmiral+%2Bskar Best regards. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Something I was wondering about the "75103 First Order Transporter". Did they show the inside of it in the "teaser trailer"? (You know the shot with all the "Storm-Troopers" lineup before the door opens up in the front?) Quote

samurai-turtle Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 OK, thanks. It is one of those answers that could be hard to find. (I guess we will have all of the answers in December. ) Quote
Sneakguest Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Hi, I'm out looking for purchasing custom star wars lego figures, interested both in characters in the I - VI as well as expanded universe and the clone wars. I'm not really interest in modification of clone and storm troopers etc, I'm looking for for some of the alien speicies that lego never made, which everyone who know star wars, are much more than those they actually made. I'm also only looking for molds, not prints on legos standard figure heads. If any one has some tips to give me, I'll be delighted! cheers / Peter Quote
Robianco Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 There aren't too many people that I've seen that makes moulds for custom shapes. There was someone on eBay who has sculpted Bith heads before Lego released the Cantina band. I've also seen people use action figure heads on minifigure bodies as an alternative to custom moulds. I think there was a 4-Lom done like that in the recent past. I know Christo is a custom minifig producer who creates new moulds but I don't think any of the Star Wars figures he's made have used custom mould except for maybe the Death Star Gunner helmet (as seen in my profile pic) which was done a few years before Lego released it. You've made reference to the custom troopers in your post and I know that companies such as Arealight have also created custom moulds for things like Twi'lek head tentacles in various colours. Quote
Sneakguest Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 @Robianco - I have already approximately 50 custom molded minifigures, 4-Lom is one of them. I know about arealight, I got one of their twi'leks, darth talon, which is enought I think. I've heard about this christo guy before but I can't find him, do you know his homepage, ebay name or something similar? Thanks! Quote
Sneakguest Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Hi, I recently bought some star wars custom figs, but I can't identify them all, on the picture I attached, I of course know that the first figure to the left is an ithorian, but have no idea which charachter it is, but the rest of them I either know the names nor their speicies. Two of them are appearantly the same, maybe even all three of them in the middle, but I'm not sure. An assumption is that they are Zygerrians from the clone wars series, but their clothes does not match any of the carachters in the series. Quote
Robianco Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I'd be interested to see some of the customs you have. Do you have a Flickr account with any images? Christo has an eBay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Custom-Brick-And-Minifigs?_rdc=1 There's an old thread on here which had a link to a Brickshelf image: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/darthtangent/StarWars/Christo/christoall.jpg These were all long before Lego produced them and even though they may look a little dated now they weren't back then. I think the rarest one he's made is a Yaddle minifigure. Quote

ChiefPie Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 If you want different clones there's http://clonearmycustoms.com/cgi-bin/storefront.pl. very nice customs. Quote
FrenchLegoBoy Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Your go-to solutions are Brickforge and Arealight customs in my opinion. Regarding clones if you want some Clone Wars era stuff, head to minifigmaker or clonearmycustom. Quote
Fenaughty Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Does anyone know if the Star Wars Advent is being delayed for Australia or just not released, not available on S@H for our market but is on others Quote
Artanis I Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 An assumption is that they are Zygerrians from the clone wars series, but their clothes does not match any of the carachters in the series. I would say that you are correct, but as to whether they are supposed to be specific characters I don't know. The torso & legs seem like random leftover parts to me. Quote
JVM Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Any tips for modding the most recent OT Millennium Falcon utilizing some of the new changes from the TFA Falcon? Quote
Lynx Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Without access to new stickers to upgrade the interior, I think you could achieve the sleeker shape and better fit of the Falcon's closing panels. I don't own the 2011 model, so I can't compare the exact details. I'd expect you could download the 75105 instruction manual as pdf and alter the height and panel fit. I also really, really like the newly designed mandibles. There are - as far as I know - no uncommon pieces other than those for the stud shooters, and I think it looks much better than in the 2011 set. I also like the cockpit much more than in 2011 and believe this redesign is achievable with common pieces. Summary suggestion: - overall heigh decrease - panel fit - cockpit - mandibles Either download the instructions or - if unavailable - play & pause a Youtube video review by 'Artifex' who is showing a superbly animated stop-motion build. One thing I'd love to mod in the new Falcon (if I had the pieces) would be to exchange the thick triangular bricks for the 2011's sleeker pieces used as the rear stabiliser. I also think the main computer panel looks at least as good in the 2011 model with all its angles and printed pieces compared to the large sticker piece in 2015. Quote
Wampa won Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) Is it possible to suspend the Lego Death Star 10143, for example hang it from the ceiling, via the hole in the top piece? I've googled and can't see any images of this having been done, so was wondering if it was possible or if anyone had done it. Obviously the wire would need to be secured further down inside, possibly near the bottom, then run up through and out of the top. Is it even possible to build it without the stand, or remove the stand afterwards, as I see from the instructions that it is built around the stand? Edited September 11, 2015 by Wampa won Quote
Robianco Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 It's not a set I own but I'd guess that it's something that would take quite a bit of additional engineering to fully support itself while hanging from something. Good luck with it! Quote
Solscud007 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 The C3-P0 polybag and Captain Phasma are two perfect excuses to chrome some minifigs. And yet TLG decided to not chrome them. They feel lacking in realism. Quote
Calanon Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Chrome tends to rub off with a lot of play. If they find a cost-effective way to make chrome minifigs that doesn't rub off with play then chrome pieces would be more common in normal sets. Quote
Lobot Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Hi Solscud007, I don't think this merits a specific thread so I'll merge it with the general Q&A thread in a bit. Nice photos by the way! Quote

I Bricklinked a 10143 a couple of years ago (link) and, although I guess it may be possible, I really wouldn't recommend it! The standard model is incredibly fragile and I don't think it would tolerate that sort of stress. Unfortunately the set is prone to flexing which won't help you; I think part of the problem is that the main vertical frame uses studless Technic beams rather than the standard studded versions. It may be possible to strengthen it sufficiently, but you'd probably need a lot of patience Quote
