Kman860 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Does anyone know why we keep getting Angry Clone Trooper face for all the Star Wars armored troops? Regardless of the fact that Stormtroopers aren't CTs, I think all black head looks more accurate. I think the all black head with the face exposed was a really great compromise, and I'm confused as to why that wasn't used moving forward. I know I thought it was a great idea too, and I was actually wondering the same thing the other day. Although, I noticed when I was building the ITT there were 2 angry faces and 2 other faces. Quote
DungeonsAndFlagons Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Okay. What is the opinion of the ladies and gentlemen of Eurobricks. Should I wait until just before my birthday (January 9th) to see if 75098 Assault on Hoth shows up in time as a UCS Hoth set? Or spend the birthday LEGO budget on something more tangible that is certain to be released in time? I basically only have Hoth Star Wars LEGO..... and so far am only interested in sets from IV, V and VI (maybe VII if it turns on good). Well should I wait or should I burn the rubles on something else? The budget might be $150 to 200 USD (€100 to €130). Opinions? Edited December 6, 2015 by DungeonsAndFlagons Quote
Darth_Brick360 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Pretty recently, I bought a sealed imperial V-wing on bricklink. When I was building it, the stickers were slightly peeling off the sticker sheet. When I applied them, they stuck for a while, but they are peeling at the edges pretty noticeably now. Does anyone know a way to get stickers to stay on all the way? Quote

Ronan Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi everyone, I'm looking for photos of a really old Star Wars Lego display made by lego for the Imagination Center of Mall of America (Minnesota), Orlando and so. The display was made of three parts, with Tatooine, Hoth and Endor, and it was at LIC from 1999 to 2002 or so. On lugnet a lot of people talk about it, but the links of the photos are no more avaiable. If someone there is a long-time AFOL, and have some photos or informations about it, please let me know. Lobot Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi Ronan, there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum which is ideal for this sort of query. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit Quote

I've moved your recent posts into this thread as they weren't really applicable for the 2016 Pictures and Rumours. In reply to your question I very much doubt that the UCS Hoth set will be available for the budget you suggest (assuming that it will be released at all). Of the sets that are currently available it may be worth considering Mos Eisley Cantina (75052), Millennium Falcon (75105) or the Imperial Shuttle Tyderium (75094) which are all very good value in my opinion. If you want to wait, and are looking to expand your Hoth collection, the new Hoth Attack (75138) looks reasonable although I doubt that you'll be able to find it at a discount for a while. Quote

All I'll say is I doubt it will be out by then Pretty recently, I bought a sealed imperial V-wing on bricklink. When I was building it, the stickers were slightly peeling off the sticker sheet. A small piece of double sided tape? Quote
Kristof Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 A small piece of double sided tape? I very much doubt that this would be a good solution. I'd expect quite ugly result if using small piece to stick some pealing of part of the sticker... Anyway, this really should not be happening, if the sticker sheet is in regular shape and bricks are clean (dust and grease are your big enemies here), it should stick very well. I had this problem only once where the sticker came off and dust caught on the sticky side. What I did was using regular tape on the brick, leaving it there for a while, then taking of - thin layer of the glue remained on the brick and when I applied the sticker again, it held rather well. But I guess That depends on the tape I used and various other circumstances... Quote
Something_Awesome Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It looks like it did. Nobody is carrying it either. This sucks because I was going to buy it but I was waiting for May the 4th. Anyone know if I'm screwed? Quote
Andy D Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Apparently Toys 'R Us and Walmart in the USA still have it, prices not bad on eBay, but I would not wait for May the 4th. I really don't know if you've been screwed or not... Was that the question? Andy D Edited December 8, 2015 by Andy D Quote
Something_Awesome Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 True, Toys R Us does have it. None in stock at physical stores in my city however. Last I checked, Wal Mart did not have it in stock in store or online. Since this posting though I was able to buy one at Target for 55 dollars, however it was the last one in their inventory. I may get a second one because I need the parts for a diorama I will be making that features the Sandcrawler. I will also need the new Droid Escape set :) Quote
HawkLord Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Wow, I might need to grab another one or two. I have three for expanding the Cantina, but it's such a good set for parts and the minifigures. I've heard others who have bought multiple copies so I imagine it has sold really well, but Lego may not have a spot for it in 2016 with the other OT stuff they're making. Quote
Lobot Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of this forum; I'll merge this with it in a bit. In answer to your question, I think that it's on its days are numbered. In the UK at least there hasn't been much stock available in the last couple of months and I don't recall Amazon having it for quite a while. In addition, the LEGO website shows it as 'Call to check product availability'. I get the impression that it's sold well; it has a good selection of minifigures and is fun to build, so it seems a little odd that TLG has decided to cease production at this point Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) I hope someone can answer this question: This weekend I’m in Germany for 2 days and near to a LEGO store. I’d like to know where I can get the C-3PO polybag! At the LEGO store? Somewhere else? Or are they already sold out? And can it be purchased seperately or do I have to spend a certain amount of €’s? Thanks in advance! Edited December 9, 2015 by Jedi-Bendu Quote
will Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 It also has the tag "retiring soon" on s@h, along with the UCS X-wing. Quote
Schneeds Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Isn't it Business 101 to keep selling a product that there's high demand for? I don't understand why Lego retires sets that sell well. Makes no sense. USA Lego S@H just says "Sold out". Doesn't have the retiring soon flag. Edited December 9, 2015 by Schneeds Quote
BlockLogo Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 If it says "sold out" it usually means that it's gone. It's been on clearance at my Walmarts since August, but I still see some there and at full price at Target and TRU, so it will be around for a while, but it will only become harder to find. Quote

Markalus Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Mos Eisley Cantina has the tag retiring soon on the Australian Lego S@H and is sold out. Red five X-wing does not have the tag retiring soon but comes up as one of 16 Star Wars sets if you use the retiring soon search filter. Quote
