Smitty500 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 both of course! Though I would maybe start collecting TSA related army stuff for now, because LEGO will always comes full circle releasing the original trilogy merchandise. Quote
Lobot Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi Jayoheazy For future reference there's a general SW Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit Personally I couldn't ever bring myself to flatten boxes, hence why my hobby room has large stacks of boxes (most still in their outer shipping ones!) but I can appreciate that it would save a lot of space. As others have said, a decent quality craft knife is a good idea to open boxes; I use a Leatherman which is ideal. Quote
Lobot Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi Efe, and welcome to Eurobricks! Unfortunately the OT stormtroopers tend to have a 'premium' but personally I much prefer them. The newer First Order minifigures are likely to be readily available to buy in the next few years so that may be something to consider, especially if you want to army build. I think it's pretty good. http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=120082 Thanks, however this is not what I was looking for. If you have seen TFA, quite a lot of the time spent on Starkiller base is in the interior. I wanted to recreate the halls and the command center and also have snowy terrain on the outside. Similar to this https://www.flickr.c...8/18482391341/. I already have built a Snowspeeder MOC thanks to TheBrickBuilder14 http://www.eurobrick...owtopic=118717. Forresto Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Quick question. Does anyone know when the rest of the Janurary 2016 star wars sets will release in North America? I have my eyes on the rebel and imperial battlepacks but ive been unable to find when they'll release in the US. I think I read on a brickset review that there was an error in shipping and they would be delayed but 8 waw unsure if that was true. Quote

ryan1584 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 How does everyone deal with dust on their Lego? Canned air works somewhat, but there always seems to be a layer left behind that won't come off without being actually touched. Does anyone know of a good small brush that won't scratch the bricks? I thought I had found one, but when it arrived in the mail it was WAY bigger than what I expected. Quote
ChiefPie Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I'm wondering if anyone has pictures of a imperial base MOC they've made because I've been thinking about remaking my base and I need some good ideas. I was think about making a small citadel/prison base. Thanks! Quote
Bolingbroke Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 this one is directed to fellow european collectors. do you find that there havent been any good lego sales on amazon for a while? it used to be quite often for amazon to discount sets by 33%, now it's a rare occurence, even for 'old' sets like the first TFA wave. Quote
Super Hans Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 The stock shortage over Christmas didn't help. Now stock levels are returning to normal a few sales have popped up. Amazon UK have a few sets on 20% discount at the moment. Quote

The bristles havnt scratched the plastic and they are stiff enough to remove dust. Granted my sets aren't out long enough to gather too much dust anyway. The one set I've purchased second hand that arrived with a thick layer of dust was 75050. I had to wash each piece individualy with water and a little soap and a soft cloth to clean it, but now it's like new Quote

They come in different sizes so you should be able to get one small enough to reach the hard to get to places. It does take forever to clean them though... Quote
Richpepperell Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) A quick poll - to my dismay I'll be hitting my milestone 40th birthday this week! Upsetting as that may be, it does offer me a rare chance to 'go large' in the present stakes and I'm planning on picking up my first UCS set. Here's the dilemma - I love Boba Fett, I love Slave 1 but it seems to me that I might be getting more brick for my buck with the sandcrawler. I'm also bi on dioramas recreating scenes from the OT and I feel the sandcrawler might offer more in this department. Minifigure wise, I already have the new Carbon freezing Fett, and they'll be a Bespin guard in the advent calendar. I'm also considering picking up the older slave 1 then Moding it up to more closely resemble a mini-UCS. Help me out! Ps. I'll be getting the new Death Star regardless! kylosuperfan Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Anyone have reference images for the catwalk scene from TFA? I'm starting on a MOC but don't have a great reference point... Quote

Seems like your mind is already made up. I plan on getting both, but the Sandcrawler interests me a lot more than the Slave I. They both have rave reviews so you can't go wrong either way. Quote

Borex Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I'm just building the imperial shuttle tydirium 75094 and am noticing that the colour of a lot of white parts isnt the same. Some are more yellowish. When having the top wing finished it looks rather messy. It is a new box. Anyone else had this problem too? Should i contact lego aboit it? It felt like a real turnoff for me Quote

It felt like a real turnoff for me I'm hoping mine isn't the same. It's still boxed up so I'd hope for white parts all round. It's a bit concerning if this is happening to new parts as they should all be made with the same ABS (or whatever it is they're using these days) shouldn't they? Quote
miles teg Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Mine was ok when built. The only piece that was very slightly....and I mean realy barely noticeable...different shade was one of the technic arms in the dorsal wing. There was a topic a few months ago about this subject iirc Quote
HawkLord Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 If it helps, when I built Tydirium in December all the parts seemed to be the same shade and there did not appear to be any yellowing. I bought it and built it within a week. Quote

Forresto Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 speaking on the subject of yellowing bricks does anyone know if that effect on bricks can be removed or are at least reversed a bit? I have a lot of old yellow grey pieces so is it possible to change that? I remember reading something about oxi-clean years ago but can't seem to find the article. The same is true with mini figures especially the mostly white ones like stormtroopers, but I don't want to mess up their printing. They'll release in March. Thanks Quote
