Trentstoys Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Can anyone please tell me if there is any interest in a lego stop motion film series that takes place during the Galactic Civil War? The series will tell the story of those affected by the Galactic Empire and its war with the Rebel Alliance. It will focus on several citizens' lives and the struggle that is living during a Civil War. The series will also give insight into how some of the citizens felt about both the Empire and the Rebellion. (If this isn't the right thread to post this in, can someone please direct me to a more appropriate place to post this?) Quote

Junior Shark Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) You could probably better gauge interest by visiting the Brick Flicks part of the forum: http://www.eurobrick...p?showforum=120. You want my 2 cents? If you want to do it, do it! Don't only do things because people want you to do them/ you desire adoration or approval from people. The natural order of things is to do something, then get approval. Not to get approval before doing something. Especially with Lego! Create what you want to create! Living at the whim of Youtube subscribers and online forum members is a pretty crappy way to "create" (not IMO, but fact). Edited March 4, 2016 by Junior Shark Quote

It's your figure if you want it out then go for it if not then don't. Quote
Sion Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I don't think shirtless Maul will be all that popular/valuable. I would open it. As polybags go, he's not quite one of the more valuable ones and unless Maul does something big in the Rebels show (or who knows maybe even the new trilogy), I doubt he's going to be that sought after. It's decided then, I'll take it out. Quote
Jackad7 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 So I bought a general grievous wheel from a wholesale in ebay and it was opened and missing the general grievous(go figure (no pun intended)) but all the bags were sealed. I'm wondering do you guys know if the bag he is in is inside of bag 2 or outside it? How would someone reseal bag 2 after taking him out or could it be an TLG packaging error? Quote

Forresto Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 That sucks im sorry to hear that man. You just have to remember when buying any sets, structures, or vehicles always make sure it includes the minifigures before buying. Never assume or you'll get burned is my motto. Quote
Jackad7 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 The post said he it came with the minigures and the seller has 100% feedback with thousands of feedback. Plus the other set I bought was just fine. I don't think he'll burn me though, he said if he can't find a replacement he'll refund the value of the figure. Thanka guys! Quote

Sounds like he got it from someone shady who removed the figure. Quote
appiah4 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Ok so I ended up with some knockoff stormtroopers (it's a long story) and I mean to return them.. But the thing is, they don't really look like any stormtroopers I know.. I did an online search for knockoff storm troopers and this is pretty much what they look like.. Is this actually a clone of any real existing stormtrooper, or is it just a weird amalgamation of existing designs? If it's actually not an exact copy, I might keep them as novelties.. Quote

Forresto Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 That looks awful. Where did you get it? Not brick link or eBay I hope? Quote
appiah4 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) That looks awful. Where did you get it? Not brick link or eBay I hope? No, I actually bought it off an acquaintance I traded Warhammer 40K figures/bitz before. He does deal with Chinese recasters, so I probably should have assumed there would be knockoffs in the bunch. Actually, the more I look at the lot, the more I suspect there are knockoffs among the rest, but none are as obvious as the stormtroopers, they are either very good clones or poor originals.. Now I'm really torn between just sticking these into a display frame or asking to return them, which would probably be incomprehensible to him.. Edited March 8, 2016 by appiah4 Quote

They are your acquaintance so I cat say what you should do but personally I would ask to return them if you paid for them in any way. It's not your fault he included clones. The thing about them is not only do they look bad now but they're going to start falling apart and yellowing in a few years unless cloning techniques have changed in the past years . They're cheaply made. Quote

Jackad7 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Update on the grievous situation. I told him to double check his other sets before shipping them and he now has a neutral feedback for canceling an order on the exact same item I purchased as he had multiple in the lot. I might have saved him from dealing with about 10-15 angry customers :P Quote

Hoth Rebel Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Does anyone know which sets/subthemes go well together as a display set? I've already collected all the Hoth, Endor and Tantooine (Jabba) 2010 and later sets and they look great as displays when together (will post photo later). But now I'm looking for more to display and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. I don't really count UCS sets like Slave 1, Death Star, Tie Fighter etc. so you can leave that out. ChiefPie Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Maybe put them in a theme from the movie it comes from or by the planet they were seen on. Edited March 9, 2016 by ChiefPie Quote
Super Hans Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 You could pick up the skyhopper for tantooine. The escape Pod belongs there too. Quote
Hoth Rebel Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 You could pick up the skyhopper for tantooine. The escape Pod belongs there too. Already have those, but they don't quite fit the subtheme. I also thought about displaying all the episode 7 sets, but there are too many loose sets. Quote
appiah4 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 If I had so many sets and such a long display bench I would definitely lay them out in order of appearance in the movies; i.e. Tantive IV, Escape Pod, Jawa Sandcrawler, Mos Eisley Cantina, Millenium Falcon, TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced x1, Y-Wing, X-Wing, Death Star.. You know, that jazz :) Quote
Jackad7 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Idk what you're going for but I've been working towards prequel rots subthemes. Particularly the beginning space battle (<3 <3 <3 <3) and the jedi execution scenes. Quote
