The Legonater Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I've experienced this also with my 8088 ARC-170 and I think it doesn't have anything to do with loose connections or too much stressed pieces. The fact is the triple wings are just plain too long and heavy for a couple of technic pin connectors to hold it straightly. Even when I first built the model, the wings weren't straight and were slightly sagging right away. I believe it can be fixed but you have to really modify the design of the wing support (I haven't tried it yet, since I'm pretty content displaying mine with the S-foils opened). I agree. Also- isn't it difficult to raise the wings evenly? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 I agree. Also- isn't it difficult to raise the wings evenly? If the gears were not properly positioned, then yes there is a chance of misaligned wings when opening the S-foils. I also encountered this and had to redo the whole wing-gear mechanism. (Lesson learned: Read instructions carefully. ) Quote
Ritz Brick Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Today I saw the Echo Base set from 2009, because it had a nice little discount, my small Lego budget at the moment and since I don't have many of the 2009/2010 sets yet, I decide to pick it up. Besides the set being much better than I had expected from the reviews here, I noticed something; my Han Solo came with white pupils(which looks downright awesome to be honest), though the box/manual and the reviews here all show him without pupils, however the rebels came with the standard face(sadly). Made me wonder when did TLC start using the white pupils? What was the first set they did this on? and are these kind of re-issues (I presume it's a later batch) regular? Sweet, I just bought the X-Wing from 2006 and my Han and Luke have pupils. I'm pretty sure the han face is the same from the AT-AT and the Lukes face is from the Landspeeder. Sadly Wedge was still happy as a clam. I'll upload some pics. Thanks for the advice on the ARC issue. I Replaced those cheap black ones I got in the set with those rubbery white ones, they work a lot better. (Still sagging but not as much) Edited November 26, 2010 by Ritz Brick Quote

I finally got around to grabbing that one, so I guess it'll be nice to have some variation. I guess this means that they must have made more X-wings, so this one should be around for another year or so at least. Quote

Could either one or both of you tell me what version of Artoo is included with the release of the X-Wing? Since 2006 it has been the old model with a white dome and thin printed strip at the top. I'm wondering if that Artoo has been replaced with the new, grey domed, fully printed version yet. Quote

Dunno, I haven't opened it yet. To take a guess, I would say no, because otherwise Ritz Brick would've mentioned it. Quote

R2 is the original style one with white dome, regular Chewie and Leia's hair seems like a mmix of the proper hair and fondant hair. (Normal face, shame some pupilled eyes would make hher MUCH better) I'll upload some detailed pics Sunday. Quote
Eurobricks fan Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hmmmm. Oh, I know what does a AT-HE look like and what happens to oursa favorite Gungan Jar-Jar Quote
BrickArtist Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) What type of clone would have piloted a ut-at after phase 2? Has TLG made a Fig for them? I'm finishing up a ut-at, and i'm wondering who to put behind the wheel. Edited November 27, 2010 by brickartist Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hmmmm. Oh, I know what does a AT-HE look like and what happens to oursa favorite Gungan Jar-Jar There's no definite pic of an AT-HE, but it's described as a cross between the AT-TE and AT-AT. There's a concept art piece in The Art of Revenge of the Sith that shows an AT-Te with longer legs. Jar-Jar's fate is unknown, other than that he became a Senator. What type of clone would have piloted a ut-at? Has TLG made a Fig them? I'm finishing up a ut-at, and i'm wondering who to put behind the wheel. A Phase 2 Clone Pilot. Quote
Supersonic Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 A Phase 2 Clone Pilot. Not necessarily a phase 2 one. The UT-AT was introduced during the Clone Wars about 21 BBY, and it isn't specified yet when exactly the change to phase 2 armor was done. So it might as well be a phase 1 pilot (though, of course, the only movie scene that depicts an UT-AT is at the very end of the war). Quote

We can speculate that Jar-Jar was either killed when corasaunt was blown up by the empire, orhis name was on the "treacherous senators" list that was compiled right after order 66. My guess is he was assassinated by "vaders fist". EDIT- thanks for the answer guys, this a mygeeto ut-at so i'll use a phase 2 pilot. Edited November 27, 2010 by brickartist Quote

My guess is he was assassinated by "vaders fist". According to the Wookiepedia he survived past the creation of the galactic empire. Being succeeded as a senator by Pojaa Naberrie in 6 BBY and possibly surviving even up to 6.5 ABY (though that seems to be game-canon, which often are first to falter when changes happen to continuity). Agreed, as well as the fact that in many cases the source is also stated so you can double-check the information for yourself. Quote
afosl Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I have a feeling this has been asked before, but does the piece count of a set include the spare parts or just what the model utilizes? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I have a feeling this has been asked before, but does the piece count of a set include the spare parts or just what the model utilizes? Pretty sure it excludes the spares, since in some cases the spares you receive may vary. Quote
afosl Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Pretty sure it excludes the spares, since in some cases the spares you receive may vary. Is that so? I've never known as I normally do not buy more than 1 set of any thing. And those that I have bought multiples of, I've never checked or made note. Maybe next time. Quote

It's actually only happened to me once; in the V-19 MINI, the spares varied between cheese slopes, half pins, and studs. BL does have a list of probable spares in their inventories for each set. Ritz Brick Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 So Venators and ISD's and others were made at the Kuat Drive Yards which sounds like it would be a ground based operation.... Now how did they take off? Other thing, how did they get the Death Star up? Did they start building in space or start on the ground. How could they get it to maintain it's orbit while it's mass is chaning constantly? Quote

How could they get it to maintain it's orbit while it's mass is chaning constantly? All three were built in orbit; for the SDs the answer is that they were built in drydock, which in SW just means tethered very securely to a bunch of orbital space stations. On Kuat that's a ring that encircles the planet. As for the DS... it's Lucas physics. Also, Venator's were equipped with landing gear and could land on the planet like Accalamators, with the former seen in RotS and the latter in AotC, both landed on Coruscant in the Clone rally grounds. The Emperor's palace courtyard was described as 'able to house a Victory-class SD', so I assume those could land, too. Quote

I was just thinking of an ISD taking off like an airplane or taking off vertically. Quote
