Gremer Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Walmart currently has 75095 for $60 off, so it's $140. I'm trying to save up for the Ewok Village. Should I buy the TIE Fghter now and wait on the Village or continue saving up? Quote
Hokierespect Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I believe the Ewok village will be next to stop being sold. Save for that one. The Tie fighter has a bit longer before it stops being produced. Quote
Gremer Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I decided to go with the TIE. The EV will likely be retired next, you're right, but it'll be sometime before that happens and I should be able to get it before it's discontinued. The TIE was on such a good sale I couldn't resist. Thank you though. Quote
JPN366 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 @Gremer: That is a good deal. 30% off a big set is hard to pass up. Plus, it makes that one go from overpriced to a better price per part ratio. Quote
JPN366 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Finished building the A-Wing vs. TIE Advanced set. Lots of interesting building techniques. If you want to display the TIE, you will need to make a stand because it won't rest on the wings. They won't support the weight. Quote
Kman860 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Did you build it wrong? I don't mean that in a mean way, but maybe you missed the 1x2-2x2 brackets? I have mine on the wings with zero issues with it. Quote
Robianco Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Mine has been sat resting on its wings since I built it a month ago without any issues. Quote
JPN366 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I built it correctly. Technically yes they support the weight, I just didn't want to put all that pressure on the brackets. I was concerned that they may bend over time. I didn't let it rest on the wings for very long and I wasn't happy with the give and only the brackets holding the wings in place. So I threw a stand together quickly and I would recommend it to everyone but YMMV. Quote
Gremer Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Would anyone happen to know the height of 75095 on its stand? Quote
Kman860 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Should be here, but I don't know if that's with or w/o the stand. Quote
Gremer Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 The news article says it's 18.5" tall, but it doesn't specify whether that's with or without the stand. Quote
Kman860 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) Actually that must be box dimensions, because I don't think it's 3 inches wide Anyways, Amazon says it's 47cm high, so I counted the studs in it's height (48), and used Sariel's length converter, and that equals 38.4cm, so I'd think it's 47 with the stand, 38 w/o, but that's assuming Amazon has the right number. Gremer Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 47 cm is 18.5 inches, which is what was in the news article. Thanks! Quote
Irish437 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Bought the Tie yesterday on Amazon Prime day it was part of a 3 hour flash sale for $125. I also had a $30 off 150 coupon and I added the battle of Takodana for $47 so with Tax I got them both for $152 and they should be delivered tomorrow. Looking forward to building those sets. Quote
RetroInferno Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Was nothing at all revealed Lego related at both celebration 2016 and SDCC? That is quite anti climatic.... Quote
eldiano Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 After seeing how the Grand Moff Tarkin minifig is Tan on the new star wars set, I rewatched the Original Star Wars and noticed that due to lightning you can kind of tell is tan, but more brown than anything compared to the grey suit I think I've thought he had. Am I crazy or any one else noticed this at all? Quote
atlas Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 They're not really grey, more like a kind of olivey greyish colour. But dark bluish grey is still the best current approximation on the Lego palette Quote
Forresto Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) Governor Pryce is most certainly wearing a grey uniform however. Edited July 20, 2016 by Forresto Quote
ltzik Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Has Lego officially stopped producing Clone Wars themed sets? Quote
atlas Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 The last clone wars set was 75046 in 2014. But in 2015 strangely, there was a set form the 2003 clone wars cartoon 75087. Personally I wouldn't mind some one off type sets from the show but adapted to the film style aesthetic Quote
Robianco Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) Ok... I'm away from my collection and I can't recall having seen this protocol droid before... I'm also on my phone so apologies for not being able to embed it. I'm prepared to be embarrassed by me already owning this but not remembering: Just had an answer over on Flickr... I think it's from the advent calendar Edited July 23, 2016 by Robianco Quote

AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Just wondered if anyone knows how to make (or near enough parts) to make R2-KT astromech from TCW Movie/Episodes. Quote
