Lewi85 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I'm an owner of the millennium falcon and jawa sandcrawler looking at buying a third to complete a trio of desplay sets. Any suggestions? Lego are rereleasing the darth star at the end of this month I'm debating it tbh, but unsure on the value for side as its pricey. Any insight? on this as well would be great thanks Quote
Bolingbroke Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I still haven't opened my ewok village, but i noticed in the parts list that there is a death star trooper helmet included. Anyone knows what it's for? Quote

Bolingbroke Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Probably one of the helmets that the ewoks use for drums ah yes, thanks, that's probably it. Quote

Fuppylodders Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I'd also go with the slave amongst those 2. The slave is the best option to go with the mf regardless Quote
DarthHank Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I may be the only one to ask this, but why does everyone say that the TFA sets sucks compared to the Rogue One sets? I wouldn't say they suck, but I do agree they aren't as good. Kylo's shuttle was the wrong color and didn't have proper wings, the snowspeeder barely appeared in the movie, Takodana has no interior, recolor of a flawed X-wing, etc. The Rogue One sets aren't perfect, but the tank is no clunkier than the FO transporter, the updated AT-ST is something people have wanted for years, the TIE seems pretty accurate, the U-wing seems to have moving wings and a good troop bay, and Krennic's shuttle is the right color and looks relatively sleek. Well, we haven't seen the movie yet... maybe the TIE and AT-ST won't appear at all, Krennic's shuttle get limited screentime and the U-wing have a big design flaw in Lego I kinda hope so as that will get us some nice discounts Quote
jhaelego Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 What is the big design flaw in lego for the U-Wing? Quote
Juke Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 What is the big design flaw in lego for the U-Wing? I believe he's just speculating Quote
jhaelego Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I believe he's just speculating Ah. I probably should have read the entire comment lol. Quote
RetroInferno Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 TFA sets were either relying a lot on mini figs for their success, over priced or wildly innacurate. How many people would have skipped the FO transporter if they knew that Phasma would have been trash? What about the 60$ battlepack called Takodana? I don't feel attracted to the RO sets only because of their figs, which I don't feel is the case If I was to get some TFA sets. Quote

That's why in all my comments regarding the Shoretroppers or Deathtroppers, my opinion on which one to collect more will vary depends on how "movie accurate" the sets are. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I never get the "The set is inaccurate so it's the worst set ever!" argument, because most of the times the designers are depends on the concept art to design the sets, so it's likely that the final source will be very different from the set itself. Same thing also happens with the Iron Man 3 sets. I don't really think it's fair to judge a set like that because the designers are just designing the sets only with limited concept art pictures. What about the 60$ battlepack called Takodana? I still love this set, but thinking back, who are the two resistance fighters supposed to be? What scene are they related to - the opening fight on Jakku? The battle on Takodana. In retrospect, they seem like a strange (but welcome) inclusion. Quote

I don't think they're intended to be based on any named characters in particular. Both their uniforms were common among the Resistance fighters in the D'Qar scenes. The boxart for the Transport set is based on the battle on Takodana though. Quote

Now that I think about it, it would have been really nice if they included two random patrons from Maz's castle instead. The resistance troopers are pretty easy to come by in other sets. Quote
RetroInferno Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 They definitly are the resistance troopers that gets owned in the opening scene of the movie, I think they either messed up the context or thought the resistance troopers would actually do something during Takodana ( you only get a glimpse at them debarking with princess Leia and moving around the rebel base at the end ) And yeah, getting the Crimson Corsair and his partner instead of these two guys would have been nice. What was I saying again about the appeal of those sets based on the mini figs included? :) Quote

The resistance troopers are just generic mooks that aren't relevant to any scene featuring the FO troop transport. Quote
Bolingbroke Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 would have been much better for lego to give us more FO troops, but we really cant complain. it was ridiculously easy to build an FO army, the way things turned out. Quote
RetroInferno Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Are buyers gonna be good on October first to get the RO sets via Lego's online shop to get double VIPs? They release September 30th but I'm afraid they'll be out of stock VERY quickly and that I'll have to camp the website at midnight... :( Quote

IIRC the only TFA set to sell out the first day was the X-Wing. Quote
RetroInferno Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Yeah I don't think people would be hardcore enough for not waitting for double VIPs the day after. Quote
