Kakureon Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Very new to this, I would like to know what the best millennium falcon set to buy is? Quote
Flandy Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Most cost effective has to be the currently available one, especially with the triple VIP points, which is an effective 15% discount. Previous system scale falcons are inferior, and the UCS one is about 10 times more to buy even if you bricklink it. If you can find a cheaper used earlier system version, then it might be worth it, but they lack detail and accuracy the further back in time you go. Quote

Bolingbroke Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 never mind the triple points, on amazon uk it was recently discounted by about 35%. Quote
Kakureon Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Is there anything on a box that tells you that the set is a mini fig scale set? Quote

If you can see by the photos that minifigs fit inside it. If multiple minifigs are listed for the set. Such as this: or this: but not this: or this: Quote
DarthHank Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I already have the 10188 Death Star, so I have no interest in getting the new one, but I am interested in the 3 new Imperial officers: SW770, SW774, and SW775. Right now they are very expensive on Bricklink, around $25 each. How long will it take them to go down in price, and how far will they drop? Quote
RetroInferno Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Tarkin costs around 40-45 CAN, that is ridiculous. They may drop because no one buys them, and I'll hold into my wallet. There's already a planned imperial officer for both the Y-Wing and Krennic's imperial shuttle January first, who could very take some of these elements introduced in the Deathstar remake. I could see them drop as low as 20$ USD, the only thing that is worth reselling are the figs of this set. Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Which is better: 2002's UCS Star Destroyer or 2011's SSD? Quote

They're both quite different ships and I think as sets they look quite different due to the scale. 10221 is a very impressive build but I think the Star Destroyer is a far more iconic shape so the scale of the 10030 UCS set looks better to me. I've not built either so you'd have to ask those that have which of them was a better build experience and which has the better rigidity etc. Quote
Richpepperell Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I'm looking to do some (Star Wars) polybag trades - is there a suitable thread for this anywhere - moderators please feel free to redirect me! Quote
Jar Jar Bricks Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Any one else feel like attack of the clones hasn't been very well represented in the last couple of years, I know that in 2013 we got pretty much all the geonosian based sets and that is most of the vehicles from Ep2, but why release them all in one year? Why not space them out a bit? Besides what about obi-wans delta 7? Or even remakes of the coruscant chase scene and anakins speeder when he goes after shmi Quote

GeekByKnight Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I'm planning to buy Obi-Wan's Starfighter, then buy yellow parts to swap for the red ones. The only problem I'm finding is the stickers. The ones that go on the outside of the flaps at the end of the wings don't match the yellow. So I was thinking of cutting off the red parts and using them that way. Has anyone modified stickers like this? If so, any advice? Quote
MaxTube55 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I don't know if prices are bad on the secondary market, but why not buy the recent actual Anakin set. Quote

Indeed, that will be cheaper overall, and both sets look nearly identical. Also, you'll get the correct minifigs. Quote
GeekByKnight Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 The cheapest I've found it is £40. Meanwhile I can get the Obi-Wan set for £17 and the yellow parts I need for about £10. Even after i buy Anakin, its still cheaper, plus it's a good entry level attempt at a moc as I haven't done anything like this before. Any advice for cutting down stickers? Which the yellow set doesn't have. Quote
Hold0511 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Not seen anything on cutting down stickers - one of the topics is on colour swapping the Eta-2 class Jedi fighters (to Anni's black imperial style scheme / purple etc) and involves scanning and printing new amended stickers off the lego ones - perhaps that may help? Edited October 19, 2016 by Hold0511 Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Scan the sheet and edit the red to be lego yellow. (you can find the RBG number on peerion i think) Quote
GeekByKnight Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Okay. The scanning thing sounds like it might be a LITTLE out of my league, but I'll look into it. Quote

Or even remakes of the coruscant chase scene and anakins speeder when he goes after shmi The reason heaps of sets came out for it that year was because Lucasfilm was going to release 3D versions of Episode II & III then (having already done Episode I), but Disney bought SW and ditched that, instead deciding to make 6 new movies. The Lego sets were already designed and in production, so they came out with no accompanying cinema promotion (sadly for TLG). Quote
irispen Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Can anyone tell me the real size of TIE STRIKER? its so long in lego form, comparing it to the official tie interceptor lego set, it is twice as long! Quote
