it looks like an major clean up

Could this mean that there might possibly be more sets than anticipated with the initial 2017 lineup? I think I counted about 23 normal sets (as in non-microfighter/advent/buildable figures) marked as retiring. Replacing them with only 9 or 10 sets seems a bit...limiting.

honestly I hope that there will be more nice sets, as so far from the new wave I like only the Y - wing, the bunker is out of my interest + I am starting to have a feeling that they are focusing more on the mini figures than the builds...

Well there are essentially 5 and half waves of sets currently on shelf, so I guess with another three waves coming next year, they're preparing early. We still don't know how big the the Episode 7 wave will be. It could be 7 sets like TFA, or more.

Perhaps the 40th anniversary is being celebrated by something more than just one UCS set, maybe there's a few sets all focussing on Ep IV?

It's been like that for a while, sadly. Let's be honest: for most of us, the micro fighters are just $13 minifigure boxes.

Hey so i have a question about chase figures. When TFA came out I bought Rey's speeder for Rey who at the time was $12. She is now significantly cheaper making me kind of regret that.

This next section may contain SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS REBELS SEASON 2.

Sorry i just want to be careful. This next part was to me the most influential part of the rebels TV show. I am currently also interested in Jedi Again and Thrawn who comes out in 2017. Do you guys think either of these will appear in future sets? I was thinking thrawn was likely but ahsoka not so much because of her....status.

I kind of disagree there as even the minifigures feel like a complete afterthought this wave. Half the sets don't include any new minifigures at all.

From both a set and a minifigure standpoint this wave is easily one of the weakest offerings in years.

Thrawn will be appearing in the new Phantom set. I don't like Rebels so I can't tell you anything about any Jedi from there appearing. Other than Kanan having his new mask as a separate piece.

I dont mean new mini figures ... all I was pointing at, is the way the LEGO focus on new and updated look of even old or fresh mini figs. They looks better from wave to wave. However that cannot by said about the builds, like Assault on Hoth or new Death Star. Thats all I was pointing at.

Do chromed Star Wars hilts peel after a while? My 2013 Count Dooku used to have a chrome lightsaber hilt, but after much rotation the handle has become matte light gray. Is that normal?

yeah that's normal sadly! That's actually the main reason lego stopped making the chrome hilts and replaced them with the metallic hilts. It's also the main reason why I have 100 of them new in my lego collection

Oh, that's a real bummer... but even my metallic Yoda hilt has peeled a bit too, showing dull dots around. Is that normal as well?

yeah all of that is 100% normal. If you have extra money I recommend getting some extra of them on bricklink

Do you think we will get a new Leia in slave costume again? Several iterations of that minifig was released in 2003, 2006, 2009 and then the latest one was in 2013... so given the pattern, 2017 seems like a good timing? No?

I'm not sure how that issue was resolved. I know there was some kind of chat about the whole 'slave' costume being retired from merchandising as it was considered offensive. The 2013 version is pretty much perfect though so besides from adding the new Leia face I don't see much they could change.

Yes, thank you, finally someone who shares my opinion. This is kind of sad though, since everyone was already complaining about 2016, well, so far the next year is even worse. (Sure, this is just one wave, but still..)

But let's hope they have some really nice sets for the big anniversary...and no UCS playsets....

ohh.. I totally forgot with Disney on board. I re-read some of the articles and I am afraid that it could be the last. :cry_sad:

At this stage the only Leia costume I want to see updated is the Cloud City outfit. That one hasn't been seen in over a decade and could really use an update with better colours, more detailed printing and an accurate hair mold. All her other minifigures are pretty definitive now aside from the Tamina head on a couple but that can easily be switched out with the current head.

I'd also prefer to see the rest of Leia's waredrobe finished off since we've only got the Bespin Escape, D'Qar Gown and Rebels costumes left to go. Plus whatever comes in Episode 8 - but hopefully that one will be covered in next year's launch sets.

I've only bought the AT-ST from the rogue one wave and the next wave I will probably only get the imperial battle packs. I'm also leaning towards the Skarif set after seeing the new pic of it. Will be on the fence until I see the youtube reviews on it after release.

I'm still hoping for a UCS AT-AT set. It will be the first UCS I ever consider buying and paying so much for. Not to mention a regular AT-AT is just too small when compared to the new AT-ST that was just released.

Bespin Escape and gown would certainly round things off for me. All other versions, like you say, are pretty much definitive now and I've swapped out all the heads for the new one.

hey! everyone, it has been a while since I bought my last lego set.... I love the Star wars lego sets, and I was thinking about buying a couple of them for Christmas!

Which ones do you recommend, I have my eye on the following:

Krennic's imperial shuttle

U-wing

Assault hovertank

At-ST

Kylo Ren Shuttle

Tydirium shuttle

Rebel Combat Frigate

I would love to buy them all, but unfortunately I do not have the money or the space to dedicate to Legos.

My main thought was to get the hovertank and the U-wing.

I'd say that the Shuttle Tydirium is my favorite of the ones listed. Also note that it is the oldest set of the ones you listed... So you may be smart to grab that one asap. The others you have more time to debate about... Especially the RO sets.
