Question: next week I happen to be in Germany. Will I get a free A-Wing figure when I spend an X amount at the official Lego stores there?

Yes!

lego-star-wars-angebot-gratis-rebel-a-wi

I.e. 30+€ spent on Star Wars gets you the fig until 31/12.

In my best german: "Dass ist ja wirklich unglaublich"

Thanks!

I hope they'll have the new Phantom in store this friday.

LEGO just put 3-4 UCS sets on end-of-life a month or so ago, so the rest are most likely safe for the next 6-12 months. If it follows the pattern of the last wave of outgoing sets, at some point Amazon, Target, etc. will start discounting it by 10-12%, which is the first sign it's on its way out. Then a larger 20-25% sale follows, at which point it'll be gone in 4-6 weeks.

Is there anything about the pilot being given away with purchases in the UK?

Yes. I think it was actually confirmed as a UK giveaway first. From 16th you can pick it up in stores with a qualifying purchase (I'm also assuming that means online at S@H too).

Anyone know what the pink discs beneath the clear bubble dome under the catwalk in Duel on Naboo are supposed to represent?

It's been awhile since I've seen the movie but I don't recall that in it. Either way I think it looks really nice. It adds a lot of texture and some nice color I think

I think it just represents some of the energy beams in the area, but it's not really supposed to be right there. At the end, I  think they just added it so there's something between the 2 levels....I am still underwhelmed by this set, much like the Carbon freezing chamber, it's not bad for a start, but requires quite a rebuild to look really nice.

That's a Naboo slurpee machine for when the workers need a refreshing drink.

Haha. Sure. Seems a little incovenient for the workers, considering they have to fall off the catwalk to reach it.

Possibly the power that creates the red shield barrier.

Maybe. It just looks kinda odd.

But since Carbon Freezing Chamber has created so many awesome MOCs as a result, I'm okay with that set. I'm sure this set will spawn many more MOCs too.

However, unless they included the Naboo Hangar (which would more likely be a seperate set), Duel of the Fates would just be a bunch of repetitive catwalks and corridors. Also, with only 3 figures that fit the scene, LEGO wouldn't be able to reach too high a price point without the fans complaining about the lack of figures (I know I would).

Look forward to seeing MOCs done with the Duel on Naboo set, anyway :)

My problem with this is, that although with the CFC we at least had a good starting point, and combining multiple you can get the full platform, with this, e.g. multiple walls are missing, and the whole thing seems kinda claustrophobic.

I feel like someone with enough resources and time on their hands could get a better MOC together without these parts.

While the hangar itself is not a set yet, the new Naboo starfighter set includes the fighter, some extra accessories, and quite a lot of droids with Obi-Wan, so combining that with a custom built hangar plus the missing characters would be a nice MOC. Too bad I have no place for it...:hmpf_bad:

Is there any Star Wars set that references Aunt Beru's blue milk?

Don't think so. However I think it's cute they used Tupperware for the cups that Luke, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru use in ANH... I use that brand too

Okay guys, with the release of Rogue One happening now, please be reminded that we've asked you to wait 2 weeks before disusing anything concerning Rogue One that hasn't already been revealed in trailers. If you aren't sure if what you're about to say would be a spoiler or not, DON'T SAY IT! Us Regulators and Moderators want to enjoy the movie as much as the next Star Wars fan and as such we may not be present very much until we can each see the movie. DO NOT DO ANYTHING to make us want to make your lives difficult when we are next present!

If there are any major issues please PM myself, BEAVeR, Brick Doctor, or Stash2Sixx right away so we can deal with it. Thank you

I have the chance to get Krenics Shuttle or the Tie Advanced/A-Wing set. They're discounted down to the same price, but I can only get one. Which do people prefer?

I'm leaning towards the Tie Advanced set, because it's retireing and I like it more than the shuttle which seems kinda dull. BUT I could be persuaded. So which do people suggest?

If you skip the one you really want, you might regret it later. The shuttle is certainly Empire level cool, but not really a must get model. I'd go with my first instinct an let the Force guide me.

Get the a-wing/tie advanced set first. Has great minifigures regardless if you like or hate the tan imperial uniform. Id get krennics shuttle after. The minifigs are great and it's the only way to get those.

Check your region. Outside of, I believe, the NA region the TIE set is set to be discontinued. Krennics just came out this past cycle so it will be around for at least another year. I personally ordered the TIE and A Wing for myself for christmas since I am in a region that is going to lose access to it at regular retail.

I would vote for the shuttle, 6 minifigs, and a pretty huge model, although not very interesting in design indeed. But the A-wing will be available in proper RotJ livery (or already is), and I think it's no coincidence that set is being retired so soon. But if you want the Vader minifig and his fighter, that might be the one for you. I'd say the shuttle if better value though for the same price, more pieces, more minifigs, and they all look absolutely great.

I will choose 75156 Krennic's Imperial Shuttle marginally over 75150 Darth Vader's TIE Advanced vs A-Wing. I just find 75156 more bang-for-the-buck because on mass alone you'll get 30% more ABS plastic on 75156. I'm basing that from the set's overall shipping weight.

There is plenty of opportunity to get Vader from other sets if you want Vader's new headpiece mold. In contrast, the Imperial Shuttle has K-2SO and that alone is a big counterpoint. The set is also quite big with its wings unfolded. I don't think "dull" is the best word to describe a ship begging to be displayed with a stand.

Well, the design of the shuttle itself is pretty boring though... the set is nothing short of imposing for sure. K-2SO is definitely a great novelty, and the death troopers look awesome too.

Looking at Brickset recently some terminology caught my eye. Namely under a set's availability. Some sets have it as Retail-Limited. What does the Limited refer to? Is it a limited time frame? A more finite than usual number in stock? Does anyone know specifically what the term means? I tried Brickset itself but can't find anything like a glossary page there.

So far I've stayed away from the Rebels subtheme. Mostly to limit myself but also because I'm worried that the sets will no longer have any appeal after the show is over. I like the show but I doubt I will ever watch it again in the future. Some of the sets like the Wookiee Gunship and Rex's AT-TE were only featured in one episode and might never be seen again. I watch all of the movies at least once a year so I know I will enjoy having those sets long term. Do any of you feel this way about the Rebels sets? Do any of you feel this way about the Clone Wars sets now that the show is over?
