Also noticed that the new Spider Droid and Kanan's Speeder Bike are retiring soon too.  The A-Wing/Vader TIE set has already been retired.

Too big or too small?

Well the parts relative to each other. Either the wings are too small (but those couldn't be much longer tbh), or the body is too big (that couldn't be much smaller because then nothing would fit inside). So ultimately they made the decision to sacrifice faithful proportions to playability, which is totally understandable.

Just finished building it, it's a great intricate set.  I think the only thing I would change would be to to make the dorsal fin taller, not much, just a little taller.

Wow, so quickly? Understandably the spider droid was a bad set but the other two seemed alright to me...

They're all good, the Spider Droid isn't bad at all, just kinda not necessary at this point.  The A-Wing/TIE is actually awesome and enjoyable to build, I think it's price point killed it for most.  I paid full price for it back in June and I don't regret that, but it was on sale a lot of the time it was available.  I think at one point before Christmas, I saw it for around $35 off on either Amazon or Walmart.  LEGO website even sold it for 20% off until they ran out.  The Speeder Bike is nice, just severely out of proportion.  You have to stand Kanan on it to make it look okay.  The crates are great and the Combat Driver figure is great too.  Probably the only time we will get one of those.  I recommend everyone get that set before it retires.  It does have something for everyone in it and it's only $20.

I've been thinking about picking up one of those before they run out, as I missed the last one. anyone who has one want to share thoughts on it?

It's good, nothing great, but it looks nice and is a decent size.

When is it slated to retire(Kanan's Speeder)? It has been out a year already right in most regions?

Glad I got the Resistance and FO Transporters before they ceased production. Those sets are great and the Resistance Transport I shall praise till the end of my days that is a fun ship to make and it looks great too.

It looks like these smaller sets have a longer lifecycle... I disagree on the troop transports however, to me both are pretty dull, not flaming the LEGO set, because those looked pretty faithful to the source, but the general design of the crafts.

Yes, they are not everyone's cup of tea but for guys like me who love setting troops up in the deployment phase these things are must.

And thanks on the tip I hope I have another month or so before that speeder retires I would like a Kanan before he got blinded in my collection.

Following on from all the chatter around the 'fake' Lando on the 2017 rumors thread, I actually wouldn't mind picking on up.  Can anyone recommend a high quality source of custom minifigures? I've had a browse but word of mouth is more important to me.

If your into clones there is clonearmycustoms. There is arealight but I'm not fond of their custom designs.

I think that the retiring soon label is a two month warning.  That seems to be the case.

Based on the fact it's on its way out I'd go resistance troop transport. I would also say as someone who wasn't that keen on it and probably wouldn't have bought it myself (was a Christmas pressie) it's actually a fun and interesting build. Seems lots of folk here have same opinion from posts I've read. I'd definitely look for a good deal on it though in UK it's £29.99 direct from Lego soooo... ( I know you pay well over odds where you live but still worth a look )

Y-wing I have but waiting to build and Tie Striker was great and looks impressive and very swooshable. Only reason I'm not torn about which to buy is simple fact they will be round for a good while yet where as Resistance Transport wont

I would get the Y-wing, if you can only chose one.

If you're going to have more money later I'd get the RTT, as JPN366 said, it's retiring soon... then get the Y-wing.

Which should I buy?

If all are the same price?

Depends. If you will be able to buy more sets later than Transport since it is on its way out. If you can only buy one then it becomes a bit more difficult. For the minifigs I'd probably go with the y-wing. The transport has Leia and Ackbar which probably have a better chance of appearing in more sets then Raddus and Mordoff, especially the later. As for builds: The transport is decent. The Y-wing is classic. And the tie striker is good too. Overall I'd probably say the Y-wing is the better set in my eyes. But as it just came out it may go on sell in a few months. Plus with the transport retiring it'd be better to pick it up while you can.

Does anyone know if photographs of Sta Wars sets will be allowed to be taken at the toy fair in progress? We saw pics last year, but haven't seen any so far. :look:

According to the streaming photos already up, no. Looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for those.

Would it be appropriate to post my Star Wars minifigure collection in this topic - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/142558-post-your-star-wars-minifig-collections/#comment-2686322

Or in the "Updating your minifigures" topic?

In the first thread they said to just post it in the UYM one, but I'm not sure. :sceptic:

Apparently you can post it here.
