Its now the 29th in Australia and its still not available to add to cart for VIPs. Despite this, May the fourth promotions have triggered here ie. R2-D2 polybag and 10% discount across the entire Star Wars range (except Snowspeeder).

I thought I was just having issues. Give it time, we'll have it by the end of the day. Does anybody know how long it took with previous VIP sets for early access to start?

So, I have  a question which at this point of time of night is frazzling my brain...

I am in the position I can buy from Lego.co.uk or Lego.com (usa).

Current exchange rates mean I can buy at £170 in the uk or $200. $200 dollars at current exchange rate is roughly £155, so that's essentially a £15 saving. However, I also have £65  worth of vip points, OR $65 dollars worth... If I applied them to the purchase from the USA site, I'd lose almost £15 worth of points. But then how many points would I gain from purchasing from the US site over the uk site?

So... Do I purchase from the uk site and apply my vip points or not, or do I purchase from the US site and apply my points, or not...? :s

Thanks!

Additionally, the US site has double vip, which as far as I can tell, the UCS snowspeeder is not excluded from that, but the uk site makes no mention of double vip points...

Well I just bought the UCS Snowspeeder and Duel on Naboo from the UK and got 187 points - so defo no double VIP points going on.

I know all the talk today is about the lego shop deals, but I just wanted to point out there are seems pretty amazing deals to be had on the John Lewis website in the UK at the moment. Well worth checking out.

Slave 1 with 10% off! Think it is fate as I have been contemplating Slave 1 for the last few days. Pity about no extra VIP points but I done a calculation and figures work out the same: At normal price (£180) with triple points (540) that would equate the Slave costing £153 (the points would be worth £27). At 10% discount price (£162) with normal points (162) that would equate to the Slave costing £154 (the points would be worth £8). So, as much as I was going to hang off for triple points with Slave 1, going by my calculations I would be as well buying it now.

It's the same as previous years, the US gets double VIP points (last year Attack on Hoth was excluded so assume the Snowspeeder will be also) and the UK gets 10% off (again doesn't include the Snowspeeder)

I would go for it but don't forget you can get back another 3% using Quidco, on a set like this that is another fiver saved.

Really? Never used Quidco before. Done a quick search and some negative comments out there but good ones too. I take it you have shopped at lego via quidco before?

I'm in the US. Not seeing 2x VIP points, the snowspeeder is not available, and the FREE helicopter is still the item added to the bag in lieu of the R2-D2.

I'm a little concerned since I was hoping to jump on the R2-D2 before they sold out... If it's available everywhere except US, it might be sold out by the time it goes on sale here in 5 days. :sadnew: As one of the people who was excited about this promo (didn't care if it was a mini-figure or not), I'll be very bummed out if I can't get my hands on one.

Anyone else having problems with lego store. Get all the way to checkout then "Sorry a system error has occurred. Please call customer service (code: generic)"

North America S@H tends to have its own stock of everything, so you're not missing out. Rest of the world gets theirs from Denmark

I hope you are right! I'm really digging the R2-D2... I hope everyone in the Eurobricks community gets one. I might give mine to my Nephew who is 5 and really into smaller sets (stuff that will only take him 10 minutes to build).

What an absolute joke the lego store is. Been trying to order since last night. Must have tried over 50 times and keep getting the "Sorry an unexpected error blah, blah, blah".

I have tried 3 different browsers, I have deleted cookies, I have retsarted my laptop over and over and over again but keep getting this message.

Ok, I can phone on Tuesday (Monday a bank holiday here and they may be closed) but that's not the point. A company as HUGE as Lego should not have these problems with online shopping - no matter if there is a mass surge in customers.

Poor show.

Sorry, just had to vent my anger at this.

Edit: Fixed. Got in touch with Lego via the Chat service and a very pleasant operator solved it. I am posting it here in case anyone else has same problem. If you are paying with paypal DO NOT click the 'checkout with paypal' link. Click 'Checkout' instead, you will get the option to pay with paypal on the next page. Works this way for some reason.

Okay so as of last I checked in the US the event doesn't start till May the 4th actually. That's when we can get the R2-D2 promo. It also said special sale on items but so far all I saw was a like a key chain and a watch. :sceptic:

Just wondering if I'm missing something or if we just start later.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but have Lego ever released a battle pack with 4 x OT stormies?

The best packs I've seen have only ever included 2.

Lego seem hell-bent on making it expensive to build a decent army.

The 2015 Star Wars Rebels one, yes. Otherwise, no.

I skipped the Rebels one. However, while not quite 4x, there was 7667 back in 2008 with 3x OT Stormies. I got one of those off of BrickLink a few years ago (I'm old) but they're not really a good value proposition nowadays because of age/rarity. And of course, there's no leg printing in that vintage of Stormie...

There is the Rogue One battle pack which includes two OT Stormtroopers and Deathtroopers. Not 4 sadly, but still a good battle pack nonetheless.

Posted

I've been able to pick up the Rogue One Battlepack for around £7 or so making each Stormtrooper just under £2 per figure. Considering the only place to get them at one point was the UCS Slave 1 they're now available in calendars and inexpensive battle packs. I'd say Lego was doing just fine at letting people army build them.

They were available in 75055 Star Destroyer previously, though arguably that is not affordable to army build either.

Hey

I'm still a bit new to this forum, I had been visiting this page ages before i created my account, but i'm still a bit "iffy" on the policy of posting videos to this forum. I make lego stop motions, mainly Star Wars, and i was wondering if they could be posted on the forum?
