Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Which doesn't mean that the side hangars can't dock with stations. 'Course, I'd be more willing to trust CW than the DK books. LEGO Digital Designer. Ah, thank you for the explanation. I'll look it up at TLC's pages. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Ah, thank you for the explanation. I'll look it up at TLC's pages. Oh, and we also have a whole forum dedicated to LDD here. Quote
Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Oh, and we also have a whole forum dedicated to LDD here. Thanks again. That looks awesome. Are we really able to order custom made sets? Another thanks to The_Customizer on the release date. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Thanks again. That looks awesome. Are we really able to order custom made sets? This should really be asked there, but anyways, yes, but only if you use DesignByMe mode. If you use Universe, Mindstorms, or Extended Mode, you can't order the model. Quote
Fallenangel Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Worst Star Wars nerds indeed... I have to say though that 8039 is so ugly you're better off taking the frame from 6211 and making your own hull. For a Venator with an opening dorsal hangar bay, consult Brickdoctor's model... Quote
Piranha Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 In the Dropship set a clone pilot is "driving" the AT-OT, is that accurate or would a gunner from the BP be better?? Quote
Mr Man Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 In the Dropship set a clone pilot is "driving" the AT-OT, is that accurate or would a gunner from the BP be better?? Yes it is correct, the yellow pilots, piloted or drove all the Heavy walkers, gunships etc, funnily enough you never see them pilot any star fighters, it always painted pilots like Matchstick. So they should be a pilot in both the AT-OT and 2 in the LAAT/c Quote

Ah silly me, I remembered it having 2 cockpits like the LAAT/1. Yeah but they should have been flown by the open helmeted, blue suited pilots. I think Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Thank you. They work well for generic pilots/drivers too bad on BL they are $8 + Yeah. They were one of the CW Clones I did like. Honestly they should've used those instead of the Gunner in the '09 BP, and then one Gunner and one Bomb Squad trooper in the '11 BP. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Just out of curiousity, has anyone bested the massive Venator from Celebration III? Quote
Piranha Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Yeah. They were one of the CW Clones I did like. Honestly they should've used those instead of the Gunner in the '09 BP, and then one Gunner and one Bomb Squad trooper in the '11 BP. Agreed. New question. Is Commander Wolffe any different from the Wolfpack trooper in helmet or torso printing or is the only difference one has ARC Gear? Sad the Republic Frigate is the Republic Diplomat Ship rehashed in a new color scheme with a hefty price tag. I hope the three jedi fetch good prices on BL to make up for the extra cost. I hope we see more Commanders in the future, so far we only have Cody, Rex & Fox for sometime, Gree would be nice. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Just out of curiousity, has anyone bested the massive Venator from Celebration III? So far as I know, no, but many have done just as good a job at different scales. UCS ISD-scale being the most popular as far as Venators longer than a foot and not made by some whats-his-face on MOCpages are concerned. Is Commander Wolffe any different from the Wolfpack trooper in helmet or torso printing or is the only difference one has ARC Gear? From what I've seen, the only difference is the ARC Gear. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Is Commander Wolffe any different from the Wolfpack trooper in helmet or torso printing or is the only difference one has ARC Gear? At the NY Toy Fair both troopers were the same, but in all promotional images Commander Wolffe has had distinct Wolffe printing. I don't think there will be any way to know for sure until someone actually gets the set. Quote

So from that the only difference is the helmet? I have a feeling TLG just used two wolf pack troopers at the Toy Fair as stand ins, who would know the difference but us anyway? And hopefully like the Republic Cruiser where some sets, Qui Gon had an obi Wan head in the set (but it was really a qui gon) , we get a real Wolffe. Edited April 8, 2011 by Macoco Quote
echobasehoth Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 just got the 6208 b wing fighter for my son, i noticed the box is different than others i have. the picture of the ship in the cardboard box is somehow "pushed" so it looks like 3d. (hope you understand what i mean, i cant find the english word for it)its a nice feature. i have checked all other lego star wars boxes i have but cant find anyone similar. does anyone know if other set boxes has the same feature?? Brickdoctor Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 It's embossed? Like the ship itself is a little bit shinier, smoother, and raised up from the rest of the box? This is common for sets of '06 and earlier. Nowadays, the only set left with that feature is 6212 X-wing Fighter. (because it's an '06 set still in production) Quote

Fallenangel Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 It's embossed? yes its imbossed, thanks  Ritz Brick is correct in that V-19s were flown by the 'regular' clone pilots with yellow printing in the '03 series, at least for Red Squadron (yes, they were also Red Squadron). It was admittedly too bad that LEGO just printed some yellow on a regular clone instead of making a new helmet mold for 7674. It's implied that the blue-suited clone pilots you see piloting ARC-170s at Coruscant are 'Phase II' like the others, so no, I don't think they would belong in V-19s... Quote
simonjedi Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Is Commander Wolffe any different from the Wolfpack trooper in helmet or torso printing or is the only difference one has ARC Gear? He SHOULD have a new face print though. He has a fake eye. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/CC-3636 Quote
Piranha Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Unless TLG based him before he lost his eye in the series? Or is the Republic Frigate after? Quote
simonjedi Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Unless TLG based him before he lost his eye in the series? Or is the Republic Frigate after? If he was going to be from the early series, he'd have the officer uniform from the Malevolence episodes. The Frigate is a combination of several episodes. Quote
Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Just a question on something different: Can we somewhere look up selling numbers or any measurements of relative economic success of the sets? I ask this because i wonder that some sets become a bargain fairly soon (i got a Slave 1 today for just 60 EUR) while others keep a high price despite seeming to be widely available... Of course an ISD of 2006 is rare and a collector's piece today but 'Echo Base' (7749) for example still is pretty expensive atm. And it only has a mere 155 pieces... So how can we get a glimpse at what values the sets do have (... in the eyes of TLG/distributors...)? Quote
