simonjedi Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) Can we somewhere look up selling numbers or any measurements of relative economic success of the sets? AFAiK, No. Lego doesn't release sales figures. You can make educated guesses though. EU sets don't sell that well, Clone wars is still popular. So how can we get a glimpse at what values the sets do have (... in the eyes of TLG/distributors...)? Lego doesn't value sets for after market use because they don't get anything from it. It's usually the toy market that determine value. (I.E If it's a UCS, A special anniversary/limited edition set and what mini figures are available with them.) Edited April 9, 2011 by simonjedi Quote
Piranha Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 So is there any other pics or upcoming events where the summer SW sets will be featured at or is the NY Toy Fair the only one? Quote
Muddy Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 A few years back at SW weekend at Disney (at least if my failing memory serves me right) they had pictures of the prototype Genosis Arena Set - Acklay and Reek The reek was DkRedish with "Tan Princess Cone Heads for horns" The Acklay was articulated in DkBlue booth were pretty good looking Does anybody know where I can find the pictures? I did these draw renders a few years back based off of the picture http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2614431 They apparently were on display for exactly one day with the other sets - prototype AT-RT and swamp Speeder (version 1 of each) I think they might have had a prototype jabber the hutt on display too... Anyways if you could post a link to the pictures I think everybody would greatly appreciate this rare glimpse Especially considering that SWLego3 just came out highlighting that very battle Whistles and walks away wondering if that set will ever be made... HJR-Holland Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Hi, Send me a PM with your e-mailaddress, and I'll send the pics over. There was also an experimental AT-RT and Salor Sailer in the same pictures Quote

There was also an experimental AT-RT and Salor Sailer in the same pictures Sent Thanks - I was hoping TLG would actually finish the set or combine several aspects together into a UCS Acklay, Nexu, Reek Jango vs Mace, Obi-Won vs Count Dooku, Padme (clawed) vs battle droids Jedi bob in new browns/flesh And maybe another Jedi With 5x geonoshians, SBD, GBD, and 3 Destroyer Droids (v3) Quote

dark1san Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I had a question about the Jawas, could someone describe their eyes on the head for me? I've looked at numerous pictures, and some look like they are glowing, while others don't. Quote
Fallenangel Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 10:00 on. According to the original source material, they glow. Quote
Aeroeza Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I had a question about the Jawas, could someone describe their eyes on the head for me? I've looked at numerous pictures, and some look like they are glowing, while others don't. Didn't they use 'cats eyes' or reflectors in the original costumes? This would explain why not all Jawa eyes are glowing from every angle. Quote
dark1san Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Should of been more clearer. The Lego Jawas, do their eyes glow? Or is that just how well they're painted? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Should of been more clearer. The Lego Jawas, do their eyes glow? Or is that just how well they're painted? I don't own the set, but I'd be 99.9% sure they don't. I don't ever remember TLG using glowing prints on bricks. I assume you're referring to photos like smokebelch's? Well he's really, really good at lighting his photos. Quote

The only time I remember glow in the dark parts were 100% glow in the dark. Quote
Graymice Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Apologies if this is covered in the Sticky post, but at 514 pages long, i just couldn't handle reading all of it :) I did see mention of a Star Wars Advent Calendar for 2011. Is that still rumor at this stage? Also, is anybody able to advise as to whether there have been any Star Wars advent calendars in the past? I've only ever seen the City advent calendars. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 I understand how it's difficult to search through 500+ pages, so to help you out a bit, here's the link to the discussion topic. The SW Advent Calendar is pretty much confirmed, as a preliminary pic has leaked out last February (and front-paged in EB). And AFAIK, this is the first advent calendar for Star Wars. I'll leave this question for a little while before merging it to the rest of the general questions. Quote

Yeah, they come in both colors, and I believe some have a mixture of the two shades. Edited April 13, 2011 by Brickdoctor Quote
Graymice Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Thanks very much! Now my son has to decide which one he'll be eyeing off to get :) Quote

Yeah, if you picked up one produced in late 2004 to early 2005 then you'd have had a mix of both colours. Mine came with 5 light bley technic gear racks. ZO6's excellent review of 10030 here on Eurobricks also notes this brief production phase of the set. Quote
Piranha Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 If Gree was made as a Minifig, what shade of LEGO green would his markings be? - Green - Dark Green - Sand Green I might buy this custom, but I think they have the colors wrong? (nicest Gree custom I have seen, the hand painted helmet looks flawless) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Based on this pic, the colors used there might be a little bit on the light side, but it looks good to me. BTW, that helmet has a decal, it's not painted. Quote

Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Umm, i'm considering to get a TIE-Defender. For modification/display purposes: Is ist possible to change the wing design that the ship looks like a TIE-Interceptor (fixed, opposing solar panels) with the parts of the set or is it necessary to add parts from other sets? And just as we are at it: Looking at Palpy's shuttle it seems as if the wing design - with a little reconfiguration on top and sides - could be changed so the ship looks roughly like a Lambda-shuttle. Is this assumption correct? Quote
