Where did you get that photo anyway? Maybe stating the source of the image might shed some light on this mysterious ship. The slight blurriness also doesn't help. From what I can make out of it, it sorta looks like some sort of EU ship(?), thought I may be completely waaay off.

Could be. It was part of a gallery for Star Wars: The Exhibition. It's clearly not a Star Forge...

Nor is it a Death Star .

Erm could it be a prototype model? like a proto-Podracer, I presume TPM used prototype models like the original trilogy?

The photo was in amongst the podracers not with Sith stuff, I think that fallenangel309 was having a joke with it not looking like a Starforge because it doesn't, not because it was contemporary, I think .

Why is they no longer a dividing line between the pinned topics and the others? It was there this morning but not now .

11 Days later I've finally found out why  I had EB's on compatibility view *Sigh*.

Just something different:

Where do i get those nice minifig stands? I do not mean some obscure secondary retailer from 'only god knows where' who rips the pieces out of sets but some trustworthy (official?) retailer with fair prices.

Are the stands included in the minifig series? Would you recommend them in general? Do you see what you get from the package or is it kind of a random 'trading toy thingy'?

If you mean these ones 88646.jpg then yes they're from the Collectible Minifigures. They're blind packaged so you can't see what you'll get (though you can usually 'feel' what it is if the store let you), but in any case there is always one stand in every pack. I'd imagine it's an awful lot cheaper to get them from Bricklink if you aren't into collecting the figures and want a reasonable quantity though.

Yes, that's what i am searching for. A big thanks for your quick reply, AndyC.

Umm, how do i identify a trustworthy retailer at Bricklink? Sry if that's kind of a dumb question but as of yet, i only see a gazillion of would-be retailers of little renown.

The easiest way is the number next to their name. Higher is better. Click the number to read reviews of the seller.

Just another question. I wonder on TLG's policy regarding prices in different currencies. Let's take the X-Wing. It goes for 49.99 USD in America and is being sold for 64.99 EUR in the 'old world'. Taking currency values into consideration (1.48 to 1 atm), an American would have to pay 96.19 USD if he bought an X-Wing during a trip to Europe. That's almost twice the price!!!

What reasoning is behind this? I hope that there is something different than TLG just believing the Europeans to be wealthier which certainly isn't true on average.

From what I've seen, Lego just hasn't as much real competition in Europe as it has in the US. Prices have been rising around here for some time now and people are still buying it - I believe people in the U.S. would switch to a different brand more easily. If you compare the toy selection of a European store to one in the US, you will find a much bigger percentage of Lego in the European one.

Also, I don't think the currency values play a role in TLG's price policy - otherwise, they wouldn't make the dollar prices lower than the Euro prices instead of higher. It doesn't help people in Europe to know products are a lot cheaper in the US, so they still have to pay the higher prices where they live.

Now before you ask why LEGO costs more in your country again

Thx for your replies. I guess we just get to know half the story but that's at least something. I do not actually feel ripped off. It only feels a little strange when a unique selling proposition (is it that easy?!) gets such vastly explored in some countries. One better gets searching for special offers then. :look:

Huh, i might run the risk to become the most curious person on the boards:

From what source can we get a hint at how long a set is being produced?

I am considering to place another order at S@H - the AT-AT, getting another ARF trooper along the way.

If however the set is likely to stay in production for a while, chances to land on a special offer might significantly rise.

The AT-AT is acclaimed to be 'limited editon' and might phase out soon. Nonetheless, the same was/is/will be true for the X-wing which has been in production for more than 4 years...

What do you think?

It's be said before, 'Limited' or 'Special' Edition just means that they're available only from certain stores, not necessarily that they're only out for a short time. I'd think the AT-AT will be out at least until the end of this year, so you probably could wait until Black Friday at least if you don't want to get it now. But that is, of course, an educated guess. There is no definite answer as far as when a set will be discontinued. Normal lifespan is about two years.

Ah, i see. Thank you for your answer. An educated guess is way better than a big questionmark. Is 'black friday' in regards of special offers being available to anyone outside the USA? Does TRU for example let international customers profit from this regional specialty?

Minifigs have been quite boring of late and LEGO have been putting them in the wrong place eg Darth Vader in the upcoming millenium falcon *huh* where is the reason well it is probalbly for money from figs :) Where is the point where should all these figs been? Could there be old republic era figs or not???

Like you said, minifigs make money. And Vader was near the Falcon while it was in Docking Bay 327, so as choices of antagonist minifigs for that set go, it's not a bad choice. Why TLG didn't just add another protagonist minifig is beyond me.

Could there be old republic era figs or not???

You answered your own question. There can't be OR 'figs without a set to put them in, and TLG doesn't seem keen on doing that many EU sets.
