Lobot Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Can someone tell me when in ESB to look for the red protocol droid? I watched again the other night, and seem to be missing it... In the original cinema version he's visible at 22 mins 54 seconds; it's the scene immediately after the one with Darth in his meditation chamber, where he throttles Admiral Oswald. He's lurking around an X-wing! Edited August 4, 2011 by Lobot Quote

Churchill Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Ah, thanks guys. It's right before Hobbie's big line (he's one of my favorites from the EU) so I'm probably too distracted to notice. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Before you start with the accusations of someone posting a seemingly meaningless interjection, I have been searching for an accurate model of a carbonite war droid, but I haven't found any. Here is the photo: http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/5/57/CarboniteWarDroidConcept.jpg If anyone is interested in making this, reply. Here are accurate standards: A: It's has accurate detail. B: Around 6 inches tall. C: Moveable parts. D: Shield needs to be probably 5 inches tall and be able to detach. This is a lot to ask, but I think it will be professional by these standards. By the way, this is from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Thank You. It's actually a vague 'bump', of sorts, of a post three pages back. Quote

Now see, that would've helped. Just "shouting" anyone doesn't make much sense. If we would've quoted himself saying that, then had the anyone, I would've understood. Thanks for the clarification, doc. Edited August 6, 2011 by Legocrazy81 Quote

EDIT: Then again, Goengar's been here for a month, so perhaps there would be someone willing to take up the commission by now. By the way, how many sets were based on the EU? I only have the Tie Defender, can´t actually remember another EU set (and it is a legitime question, no sarcasm involved ) Three - 7664 TIE Crawler, 7672 Rogue Shadow, and 8087 TIE Defender. 7659 Imperial Landing Craft is closer to video game renditions of the Sentinel rather than the film version, so that could be considered Expanded Universe as well. Then again, The Clone Wars is technically Expanded Universe, so any sets based exclusively on that franchise(Delta-7B, TX-130, Twilight) could also be considered Expanded Universe. I wouldn't consider Battle Packs Expanded Universe-based, though; they're not really part of the canon at all. Edited August 9, 2011 by fallenangel309 Quote
jiggaman Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hi Mates, Noob here... but my wife collects star wars legos... our first anniversary is coming up... and I would like to get her something really nice... My bro-in-law says he can get this: from someone on the state side... but I have to make a offer... What do you guys think is fair? Quote
LandShark Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Well, it depends. How expensive are you willing to go, and what kind of sets does she like (Clone Wars, Original Trilogy etc...)? And it's nice to see a guy getting his wife Lego for their anniversary. Edited August 11, 2011 by LandShark Quote
DarthSion Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Well its simple, look at her sets, use your camera on your phone take a picture and go buy a set she does not have. Women are simple, its not what you buy its the thought, if you buy her something new that she doesn't have then she will love it, then again even if you buy something she has no one complains when they get free lego. BTW its like scissors, one is called scissors, 2 is still called scissors, so its lego not legos. Quote

I am not going to pretend to know my star wars, but I believe its all original Trilogy, she has the falcon, death star, and the destroyer... also a bunch of little stuff.... I checked ebay, the large lego's go for roughly $250+ US, so I figure $400-500 is a fair offer? Figure it will cost more due to it being star wars related. =) Well its simple, look at her sets, use your camera on your phone take a picture and go buy a set she does not have. I was hoping for something a little more unique, thus the display vader... i don't tihnk these ever went on sale... Edited August 11, 2011 by jiggaman Quote

If she likes Original Trilogy stuff, I would suggest the Tantive IV or the Super (expensive) Star Destroyer (assuming she hasn't got either of those, or there not too expensive). Also, I agree with DarthSion, saying 'legos' isn't welcomed with a smile in these parts. Edited August 11, 2011 by LandShark Quote
Vindicare Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 In regards to your link, your best bet would be to get in contact with the seller of that display piece and either make an offer or ask what he's offering it for. I don't think anyone is going to be able to give you a price point, simply because those are so exclusive. Good luck! Quote
Hollander Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 If she doesn't have the Tantive IV (10198) yet It would certainly be a decent choice. One of the best sets ever in my opinion, and it' OT of course. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Guys, are you listening? He doesn't want to buy a set. He wants to know what's a fair price for the Target Darth Vader display. Display cases of sets usually go for around $300, which I'd say is a fair price. Offer $250, and see if he'll bite first, though. Quote
StoutFiles Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 The Target display, while cool, is not really a set. It's a display set you aren't supposed to own; Target is supposed to send them back or destroy them. Owning one is like owning a stolen good. That said, because of this it's extremely rare to have one. I'd make sure she'd want to own it though before you buy it just because it's questionable to own it. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Anyone know about how much longer 10198 will be available? Do I have a good few months left to buy or should I get on it? Quote

I did a quick "Edit your Cart" quantity change on Amazon, and if the system is right there are more than 999 left in stock there. Whether that's an accurate number is anyone's guess, but there's been no indication that it'll be discontinued soon. It is a great set though, I'd recommend getting it sooner than later. Quote

I should be good for a little while. I would get it now, but I need to dig myself out of the hole I got myself in at the moment. Quote
Fallenangel Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 So... anyone know where the Mankvim-814 light interceptor appears in Revenge of the Sith? And the Recusant? Quote
Mr Man Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) So... anyone know where the Mankvim-814 light interceptor appears in Revenge of the Sith? And the Recusant? The Recusant is seen in the far right hand side of the screen in the Battle Of Coruscant before it is split in two. I think the Mankvim-814 is seen in the sky on Utapau or maybe in the Battle Of Coruscant. * I think you can only briefly glimpse one when Kenobi is landing on Utapau. *A squad of Mankvim-814 light interceptor can be seen flying out of a hanger bay at Utapau when when the battle starts *It's around the time when the gunships come down. *One can definately be seen flying under the landing pad as Obi-Wan lands. It looks green, almost like a coralskipper. From the wiki. Edited August 13, 2011 by Mr Man Quote
Professor Jones Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Hi, I just got back into building legos (hadn't played with them since I was a child, and I just turned 30) and I really like starwars (the original trilogy , I don't like the new ones at all). I bought the x wing set which was awesome. It looks gorgeous and I really liked the fact that they were very generous minifig-wise with this set. Then I bought the slave one, which is good but clearly not on the level of the x wing. Didn't like the missile feature (I would have preferred realistic interior details instead), and the cockpit is a joke, but still a good set. Now I'm looking for another cool original trilogy set to build, maybe a bigger one since my favorite thing is the building phase, and I generally like to make it last as long as possible. I was looking into the 2011 falcon, which seems good. But I can't get over the fact that they really got greedy with that one. Come on, where are the droids and the stormtroopers ? I would have loved to get the sandcrawler its price is discouraging. Can you advise some fun and well designed sets to build ? Thanks Edited August 15, 2011 by Professor Jones Quote
