K-Nut Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I think this would be better suited in the General questions thread. But since I'm here, I'd pick up a few. A have a bunch of them, but I don't want more of them then regular troops. Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 As the new 2012 Battle packs start to trickle into retail stores, I'm debating whether or not to pick up a couple of the outgoing 7913 set. I'm curious on what the general consensus is on the bomb squad troopers - are they worth building up in numbers? Are they not as significant as the "regular" troopers? Will their value increase later on? I don't watch the Clone Wars cartoons, so don't really have a whole lot of knowledge on them. That being said, if anyone army builds the bomb squad guys, I'd love to see a pic or two. Thanks! :) I like the Bomb Squad Troopers. The problem is that they are hardly featured in the show (2 episodes). So maybe in a couple of years, when they are no longer available through BL or elsewise, their value might rise. Personally, I would not bet on it. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 In my opinion, it's not a character that's worth building a huge army of. Like Brickadeer said, they only appeared in a couple episodes in the first season and are more of a periphery trooper. They are cool looking though. Quote
Fives Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I just recently bought the Endor battle pack, and I found it odd that my two Rebel Commandos have tan hands, like the new Bariss Offee. Has this occurred often, or am I just lucky? Quote

Mr Man Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 are they worth building up in numbers? It depends if you like bright orange troopers in large numbers or not really. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I love them - got about 30. Quickest and cheapest way to army build troops with full printing Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Personally, I like the idea of army building clones. However not the bomb squad trooper because it's just not appealing to me. For me the orange color would not look good in large numbers. I'd be interested in maybe 20 but I would want my army to be in the standard clone white. I think I would like the bomb squad trooper more if the main color was white with some orange markings. Quote
mutley777 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I have a few of these guys and like others I don't think you would want them in large numbers. They probably make up 7-8% of my clone army and I think that is to much. They really did drop the ball with that Battle pack. 1 bomb squad trooper and a plain clone would have made such a better choice. Even more so now the Turbo tank and the Star Wars Brickmaster book are the only way left to get one. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Mix arms, legs, torsos, and helmets with plain Clones and Commander Codys to make 212th Clones. Quote
Zilcho Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 How much is a complete imperial star destroyer worth? (6211) Quote
legolandia Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) How much is a complete imperial star destroyer worth? (6211) As much as it fetches on ebay I think. There are no specific price guidelines as such. One simply has to study ebay for a while in order to find out the average price. My guess is about 50% more than its original price. The cheapest complete ISD on Bricklink is $160, and I always assume that E-bay is going to be another 20-25% minimum. Quote
jmagaletta Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Has anyone tried to build one of these http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Multi_Altitude_Assault_Transport it looks like a mix between the republic gunship and arc170 Quote
Fallenangel Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I found this and , though neither seem very well built. Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 It occurs to me that the visors of the old and the new ARF Troopers look different: Does anyone else have the same problem or are the visors just fine? Quote

Brickadeer Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Can anyone tell me if ALL plain white helmets from set 7655 have the dot in the middle of the back side? Quote
JackJonespaw Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Can anyone tell me if ALL plain white helmets from set 7655 have the dot in the middle of the back side? I think all Phase II Clone Troopers are the same. (Excluding the one from the Swamp Speeder in 2010.) Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I think all Phase II Clone Troopers are the same. (Excluding the one from the Swamp Speeder in 2010.) That is basically what my question is amining at: is the helmet of the clone trooper from 8091 (Swamp Speeder in 2010) the only one that does not have the dot in the middle of the backside? (The question is about a bricklink issue I have.) Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Can anyone tell me if ALL plain white helmets from set 7655 have the dot in the middle of the back side? All Clone helmets have the dot, as "real" Clone helmets have the dot. Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) All Clone helmets have the dot, as "real" Clone helmets have the dot. As you can see here (taken from this review), this is not correct. Some have a dot, others don't. It occurs that the "don't" helmets are from set 8091, but I do not know for sure. Mr Man Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 All Phase II helmets form the old style Phase II Clone Troopers have the dot (unless a mistake was made in the moulding) and the new style ones also have the dot (unless a mistake was made in the moulding). Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 All Phase II helmets form the old style Phase II Clone Troopers have the dot (unless a mistake was made in the moulding) and the new style ones also have the dot (unless a mistake was made in the moulding). Ok. In this case, the mistake in the moulding occured pretty often in the new moulding, at least that is what I can conclude from the reviews available, especially at youtube. The black/grey printing of the breathing tubes ("nose", left/right of the "mouth") instead of the merely black printing and the slightly higher position of the "mouth" occur only in the new moulding?
