LEGOman273 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) Only wishlists. There has been zero evidence they are working on a Cloud City set, but it is assumed it will happen sooner than later based on its popularity. Also, a UCS version would just be a big spinning top, so I hope that doesn't happen. Don't you think that the top would lift off and it would have Minifig-scale scenes (levels, perhaps) underneath. (Like the Executor)? Edited February 19, 2012 by LEGOman273 Quote

madoka Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Sorry if this has been asked before. I could not find it in any searches and what I did find seems contradictory. Bricklink lists the dome of R2-D5 as being a separate piece from the dome of R2-Q5. Are they the same or different minifig? Quote
Huntleyfx Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 They are actually two different figures, as the dome print is slightly different between the two. Quote
Lobot Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 From ebay. Thanks for the photo! 'rogueang' has also very kindly provided some other photos; it's great to be a part of such a helpful community. I want this set sooo much!! Cheers, Robin Quote
StoutFiles Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Don't you think that the top would lift off and it would have Minifig-scale scenes (levels, perhaps) underneath. (Like the Executor)? They could build a set like the Death Star and have scenes in it, or they could build a UCS set like the Death Star II and have it completely accurate on the outside, with possibly one scene in the middle. I would prefer the Death Star option as I would want all the new figures it would come with. Quote

sealslip3 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 From Brickipedia: R2-Q5 was wrongly named in the 2006 set 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer as "R2-D5". So they're meant to be different variants of the same minifigure, R2-Q5 is like a redesign of R2-D5 Quote
Mr Man Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 The Death Star II did not have a scene in it. He doesn't mean it did, but that an accurate UCS exterior (like the DSII) could have a scene in the middle (like the Executor I presume ). Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 From Brickipedia: So they're meant to be different variants of the same minifigure, R2-Q5 is like a redesign of R2-D5 R2-D5 has the old Astromech head (printing only on the top half); R2-Q5 has the new Astromech head (printing on the entire piece). R2-Q5 is the correct name. Quote

Right. Having a scene in a UCS shames the UCS label, but if TLG built a UCS set I wouldn't put it past them to include a scene inside of it. Edited February 20, 2012 by StoutFiles Quote

At what point in Stoutfiles post (above) did he state that the Death Star II had scenes in it? It might be helpful if you actually took the time to read what he wrote, rather than pulling him up on an error that didn't exist!! Actually, a 'Death Star II' version of Cloud City would be amazing, and I'd certainly buy it However, it wouldn't be the easiest shape to accurately replicate in Lego.... LEGOman273 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I have two questions: Does anyone know how best to build the Crystal streets on Christophsis? (The octagonal patterns.) And: In the Theed Palace Hangar; how far from the back wall are the columns? (The ones that are the farthest back.) Quote
Tuskano Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 In the Theed Palace Hangar; how far from the back wall are the columns? (The ones that are the farthest back.) This gives a good idea how far back. Along with this one that has the naboo starfighters in it. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 This gives a good idea how far back. Along with this one that has the naboo starfighters in it. Oh. When I said "Back wall" I meant the wall with the door that Darth Maul was behind. Quote
Tuskano Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Oh. When I said "Back wall" I meant the wall with the door that Darth Maul was behind. Ahh... this one maybe. Big generator place :) That's the wiki stuff... I know the wall your talking about but I don't see it there. Might have been a secondary door... I'll have to rewatch ep 1 later. Quote

Rogue Angel Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Right. Having a scene in a UCS shames the UCS label, but if TLG built a UCS set I wouldn't put it past them to include a scene inside of it. If you can't see the scene from the outside (Executor with bridge attached) I think a scene in a UCS is fine. Of course I don't really view the Death Star as a UCS set, even if it's called one. Even though the UCS label is used for most really big sets, I feel it is more appropriate for the highly detailed/oversized sets. The Death Star II on the other hand was a very good UCS set. I would have preferred a UCS Falcon and Imp Shuttle that actually had interiors. Quote
MaceWindu Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks for replies! I asked because I'd like to make some big project "like 10188 Death Star" Cloud City in LDD. I think, in May I'l show you. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Slightly off topic, perhaps: Does anyone know what the Republic Striker Starfighter is really called? I've tried looking it up on Wookipedia, but I can't find it. I have found the Fury-Class Intercepter, but no striker. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Does anyone know what the Republic Striker Starfighter is really called? I've tried looking it up on Wookipedia, but I can't find it. I have found the Fury-Class Intercepter, but no striker. This should be in the Star Wars Questions thread, but the answer is this. Wookieepedia has something called simply Republic Starfighter, which looks the same but in different colors. Since their entry comes from comics tied to the Old Republic but released before the game, probably the same ship got recolored for the actual game (or has different variations of coloring). Any 'official' name is probably unknown at this point. Quote

Knightsword Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) I would still refer to the one that came in the 6211 as R2-D5 anyway, as I doubt it was wrongly put as brickpedia says. Edited February 23, 2012 by Knightsword Quote
sealslip3 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Does anyone happen to have a list of the parts in 8038 Battle of Endor that are used in building the AT-ST? Quote
