I think that Whitefang just confirmed our point.

If a staff member tells you to stay on topic, you do just that. Ok? Final warning.

Hi,

it occurs to me that SW helmets are made of two different materials. At least, this occured to me with the old (set 7655) phase II trooper, the first (set 7913) ARF Trooper and the current (set 9490) Sandtrooper. One material seems more cheap, less sturdy, the other material seems to be of a higher quality, it looks more solid (I describe my impressions from watching them, they might be wrong, though). Does anyone know what I mean and have further information on that issue?

I was under the impression they where the same for main set figs, I thought only keychain and magnet figs, where Chinese plastic.

I'm sorry. I thought that this was the "Talk to the Mods" thread. The discussion there is the same.

Not just those. Most detailed pieces are made in China, as that is more cost-effective. Wonder Woman's legs, hair, and Superman's hair are Chinese. These are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

Since we're on the topic, I was wondering. Is there some kind of identification guide for normal LEGO or chinese plastic here on Eurobricks or maybe on another site? I haven't been on here too long but I know there has been discussion here and there about differenet plastic or ABS being used. I apologize in advance to those of you that have already discussed this.

I just checked my phase I clones. It appears that roughly 60% of the helmets consist of the "less solid" looking material and can be found on normal clones and commanders (Fox, Rex, Cody). And it's not just the helmets, but torsos, legs, and probably arms as well.

edit:

I found that this issue was already discussed in this thread. The problem described there fits precisely to how I experience the issue. Plus, the test described indicates the same.

Hi,

I remember that I have seen a video with the Death Star 10188 in which it had a flat stand like a plate and the DS mount with and axle or so. So you could turn around the DS easily. Does anybody have a link to that video or pictures of the stand?

Does anyone have any idea of the average Bricklink price of the Shadow ARF in the month after it was released last year? Apologies if it's something totally obvious that I'm missing but I understand you can only view price guide for what's currently on offer and for the last 6 months.

I bought 15 of the Shadow ARF in the first 4 months after the promo and paid no more than £15 ($25) a fig. I think that was a more sort after fig too, as it was a clone and more collectors would want multiples of the fig (like me  ). I am only after 1 TC-14, 2 at the most to keep one mint.

I did see else where you though this years promo was going to be £75. I would think that very unlikley and the £50 price point of last years promo and the current mini TIE Fighter promo is a much better guess.

Thanks for the info! I'll probably just pick one up from BL then, assuming they're around the same price. Yeah I thought I'd picked that up in a thread somewhere around here, I wouldn't be able to justify a £50 order either though

Should I buy the UCS Shuttle or the Death Star playset next? I am worried about which one will become hard to find/more expensive soon... I am going on May 3rd to our lego store for the TC14 promotion so I will make my decision (with your input) by then. As of now I am totally split.

Death Star has been around for ever so..that's probably a good start..

PS, there is a 'which set should I buy' for these

EDIT: nevermind, you posted there too

Since the 2012 LEGO Star Wars Winter sets came out January 30th, (a month later than usual) could we possibly be seeing the 2012 Summer sets delayed as well? From what I remember, they always came out end of July here in the U.S. but could they be coming out mid to late August now?

I think it depends on a lot of things. First of all where you usually buy Lego from. This year I went to the Lego shop on January 4th and they had all new star wars sets in stock. The next day I went to toys r us and they had nothing it took them a month later to get any thing. Second of all it depends on where you live Denmark usually gets sets a month early where as the Uk gets them after the US. I live in the UK and for some reason we got the sets before America. I don't know why the sets were delayed but the problem should have been solved by now.

I now believe the reason for releasing them later here in the U.S. is to coincide with the Phantom Menace 3D that was released February 10th.

If I remember correctly Lucasfilm had Hasbro and LEGO delay the release of their new SW merchandise to coincide with the release of Episode I 3D in theaters.

Oh that makes a bit of sense then. Even though there was no episode 1 sets in the January wave of 2012 . In that case I don't see any reason for a second delay. Does this mean that next year the January wave will be delayed again for attack of the clones?

Both Hasbro and LEGO did have the new Darth Maul packaging for their SW merchandise.

And I hope this isn't the new trend with LEGO Star Wars. I really loved being able to get my kids new LEGO Star Wars sets for Christmas.

I can't view the second pic.

For the first: I'd say either a blank torso, or one of these:

In this pic I see a couple guards that could use Tusken Raider torsos.

Edit: Nevermind. I found it.

For the second:

Is all that I can find.
