September 7, 201311 yr Yep. The electrickery bits in the servo emit beeping and squeaking sounds. Wouldn't be a Lego motor if it wasn't noisy.
September 9, 201311 yr I'm wondering when the Power Functions L-Motor is to be released. It's pretty late into the year and there's still no definitive release date for it. Does anyone have any idea when it'll be released?

No, the servo motor is not priced fair, given that I could get a non lego one for about $10, and the L motor should sit right between the XL and the M motor in price, not above them both. The XL motor should cost the most, because it has the largest amount of copper, the expensive stuff, in the motor, while the L does not have nearly as much. I hope the prices are only preliminary, "cause they are just too much.

So if we consider that every winding loop of the copper wire on the armature in the XL motor is reduced because of the small Length in armature size vs the longer armature length in the L motor, Which result in more length of copper wire to be used to warp the L motor armature. Then it can be establish that the XL motor is in fact more cost effective on copper then the L motor is just due to length of the armature. Now if that still does not make any sense to you can just dissemble your L and XL motor and pull the copper out for yourself and weigh it. Also the L motor has two magnets while the XL motor has one. As for the Servo motor if you were to go and compare prices on servo motor you will see that it is a fair price for it.

All the electric Lego elements over the years have been overpriced to varying degrees. The PF motors are some of the few parts that are relatively reasonable. Although the L motor's price does seem out of place compared to the other two.

September 26, 201311 yr Well, just another meaningless statement made of text modules. I would not expect them to arrive in large quantities within the next 8-10 weeks.
