So here it is, my biggest project after Hogwarts is finally completed! with a part count of something in between 7000-8000 parts! It have taken me 2 months to build this monster and I have to say that I'am more then pleased with the result!

Now something that you have most likely noticed is the extremely poor photo, don't think that I doesn't care about the photo but I just don't have any camera, nor does anyone else in the family so this is the best I can do (like, it really is as good as it gets, I've tried to get a decent shot for a week now...). I hope you like it despite that.

Something that I noticed yesterday that I thought was quite funny is that I uploaded my first Rock Raiders MOC a year ago :-)

This is also the biggest Rock Raiders MOC ever made right now btw ;-)

Very nice work! But the buildings look a bit... I don't know, stiff? There's no real flow or main structure that would make it feel like a real HQ.

Oh, and that's the largest physical Rock Raiders MOC to date. Someone recreated the LMS Explorer with digital bricks. Sorry to break the news to you :P

The buildings are official sets. Hahaha.

Yes, I realized that. But there's no real structure to the HQ, the set itself did a better job of it by really joining everything together and making it close-knit

Digital builds does not count, otherwise I could just sit and copy/paste this as many times I could before LDD/Ldraw crashes, and like Algernon said, the buildings are official sets ;-)

Wow, I haven't heard about rock raiders in a while. Anyways, It looks really good, and i like how you used grey bionicle pieces in the walls of the cave.

Rock Raiders is one theme I do surprisingly wish would make a comeback one day. The whole structure you have created is massive and very nice to look at, though I do wish some more time was spent on the buildings. I think the fact that they are official is the issue, not the saving point. Maybe redesigning them to be more integrated with the structure itself. Right now it's mostly buildings on top of a rock structure, with one hole; I'd like to see more vehicles and characters actually digging into the structure, interacting with it. With that said, bravo once more for giving this theme some needed love

Fantastic, looks like that one cutscene from the game with the waterfall but in real life.

Thats the one I was thinking of!

Thank you!

I will definitely keep that in mind when I do my next RR MOC!

btw do you think it would be necessary to change anything on the vehicles too? (personally i think they have quite a good level of details)

The vehicles I think are fine as is, in fact I do like how you already have some of them interacting with the landscape. It certainly doesn't hurt to throw in custom vehicles, but the colors and parts for RR can be a bit difficult to come by (I myself have been considering doing some Bricklinking to recreate some RR sets, but some of the more specialized drills and canopies are a bit pricey :sceptic: )

Yea agree. I have myself been looking for parts to recreate some in-game models that where never released...

But I will most likely end up buying it anyway

Well, that's certainly not what the guy who recreated the LMS Explorer did...

I realize this is an old thread and that you might no longer check this forum, but I stumbled upon this in Google image as I was feeding my nostalgia for Rock Raiders. First of all, nice collection (really envy that chrome crusher), and I love the display you made for these sets. I'm impressed by the way you made the rock and water with Lego parts, and that little cave! Thank you so much for sharing this piece of nostalgia with us!
