VKTechnic Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 NOTE: This is not an official entry. This is a WIP thread for one of my possible entries into the Triple Build Challenge. I'm going to be brave (or possibly stupid) and start a WIP for my first entry. I have a really unique idea planned, but sadly, it has a very predictable start: a car. For now, it features steering, folding seats, and a spinning fan that's barely visible in the above picture. The fan serves a purpose, don't you worry. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Looking good! Very clean lines so far, keep up the great job. I noticed ur Ujoint is cracked Any idea how many parts so far? Quote
VKTechnic Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 Looking good! Very clean lines so far, keep up the great job. I noticed ur Ujoint is cracked Any idea how many parts so far? That's probably the thing that worries me the most right now -- I have no idea. It seems to be around 300 now, but then again, maybe that's just what I want it to be Quote
Junpei Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 It looks like a good start. Doc_Brown, how do you sound surprised? All of my 10 u-joints are cracked at the end, axles slide out of them like the new 8t gears Maybe it's time to buy some new ones. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Is it just me or does that think look like a transformer..... Quote
Junpei Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Is it just me or does that think look like a transformer..... I'm pretty sure Alasdair is right, now at second glance, it really looks like it. Or maybe the HoG wheel is just supposed to be at 45 degrees? Quote
Jim Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Is it just me or does that think look like a transformer..... Sharp!! I think you don't need to worry about the part count too much. This seems like a perfect small-to-medium sized model to me Thanks for posting the WIP. Reminds me I need to create the official entry topic. Quote
skriblez Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 This looks smooth! Very nice work so far :) Quote
peter_m Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Ah! 8070/Dodge Viper style! I like it already :) Quote
TasV Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) So... if it IS a transformer... does that count as 1 model or 2 Edited October 14, 2013 by TasV Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) Sharp!! This is one of the benefits of years worth of lego building..... Edited October 14, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Jim Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 This is one of the benefits of years worth of lego building..... True! That's why I can't wait to see your entry Quote
Lakop Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Lovely. You should be able to count the parts though. Maybe count them now before you move on. H Quote
VKTechnic Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I don't think I've ever told myself that I have enough detail in my models and listened. Here's some progress: Any and all feedback is appreciated, as usual. Sharp!! I think you don't need to worry about the part count too much. This seems like a perfect small-to-medium sized model to me Thanks for posting the WIP. Reminds me I need to create the official entry topic. Thanks for the feedback! Quote

Rishab N Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I really don't know what this one is.... Quote
darsedz Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 bottom side of some demonstrator stand, powering whels of red car? Quote
rumpletump Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 bottom side of some demonstrator stand, powering whels of red car? Like a backwards dyno tune? Quote
Junpei Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 What? I have no idea what the hell it is. I love it! Quote
Hrafn Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 No steering, 4WD with a PF-M geared up 20/12, and a winch? Hm. Is it part of a trailer? If it weren't for the lack of steering I'd think maybe it was going to be an airport tractor / tug. Quote
