bartvdpoel Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I bought two with a 25% discount in a Dreamland store a few months back. With the lego room ready I can finally take them out of their box. But shhttt, don't tell my wife :-) Quote
English Electric Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I would say the HE has probably been a success, I got two when it came out, but I have just bought another two to make up a full rake of 1+8+1, not sure if two motors will be enough or if we've got enough track!!! Quote

How about coupling two engines for 1+4+1 + 1+4+1 for "kissing" train sets? Quote
English Electric Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 How about coupling two engines for 1+4+1 + 1+4+1 for "kissing" train sets? That would be interesting to try, one step at a time for now though! The two sets came today, two carriages now built and two to go, I will have to order some parts to make three more Jacobs bogies plus two modified roofs and six modified underframe skirts!!! Quote

That's a lot of additions. I have a 1+4+1 configuration. I found I had enough odd parts to expand the skirts for two cars and one Jacob boogie. Also converted one of the cafe cars to a 2nd class coach. What do you plan to do with the extra engines? Quote
El H Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 LegoSjaak, your train is great but I'm possibly more amazed by that beautiful wooden floor Quote

I will build the two extra engines and I am going to fit TGV decals to all four engines, one pair with the earlier TGV logos and one with the later ones... Here is the basic train in 1+8+1 (with a few minor bits missing that my son has got "somewhere"!), I have ordered all the parts for the roof, skirt and bogie mods so await their arrival!
